AAF has long recognized the need for a new type of gas cooling device, one that not only cools process gases, but one that could be designed to recover the heat to be used in other processes. It was with these objectives that AAF developed the Forced Air Cooler (FAC), or air to air heat exchanger, and now has over 50 of them installed worldwide, either operating or under construction. The FAC can be used for cooling kiln or preheater gas and clinker cooler gas. It has several advantages over conventional methods of cooling by U-tube coolers, water spray towers, and cooling by dilution air. The FAC is compact and can be fitted into spaces where a U-tube cooler will not. It can be designed to maintain a constant outlet temperature, independent of the ambient air temperature. It cools the gas without adding to the volume, unlike dilution cooling and water spray cooling. The tube bundle section can be shipped in one piece, thereby reducing field installation costs. A thermocouple mounted in the FAC outlet duct controls the fans as required to maintain a constant outlet temperature. Several different duct arrangements are available, including top entry, bottom entry, and side entry.

Lytron's ES Series aluminum oil coolers are engineered for high performance with poor heat transfer fluids such as oils and EGW. The extended surface flat tube design provides 2.5 times better performatnce than competitive units. The unique flat tube and header designs result in lower pressure drop so smaller, less expensive pumps can be used. Welded headers are pressure tested to 150 psi (10.3) bars and the fluxless, vacuum-brazed core provides strength and reliability. The Aluminum Oil Coolers are available with or without a fan plate, and with finish options of aluminum or black paint.

Olaer, has just supplemented its range of exchangers air/oil with alternative course. The exchanger LAKE 200 makes it possible to reach capacities of cooling up to 300 kw with Delta T 40°C.
This exchanger is particularly adapted to the cooling of the hydraulic engines in heavy industry (building machineries of roads, mining, oil and gas, offshore oil rig...)

Air/Oil standard heat exchangers
The range of air/oil heat exchangers has proved to be extremely reliable for a number of different hydraulic oil cooling requirements using the air generated by electric fans, hydraulic fans or, in the industrial sector, by single-phase and three-phase electric fans. The availability of models has now been further extended in order to satisfy all requirements.

Air-Oil heat exchangers have been designed to be used on the return line of the hydraulic systems.
The radiating mass is made of aluminium alloy, nominal pressure of 25bar and max Temperature 120C.
In addition to the standard SS and ST series, there are the SS2/ST2 double pass series for a higher heat exchange and SD/SDT series for higher flows (up to 320 L/min).

Air/water heat-exchangers
The FIRA radiators for endothermic motors are designed according to customer needs and are used on tractors, self-propelled cranes, forklift trucks, harvesting equipment and other. The finning can be made of copper with inserted or Mc Kord type high-efficiency profile. Both solutions are available in a wide range of configurations and dimensions, thus permitting optimal choice according to operating conditions (low clogging or high efficiency). It is also possible to include a plate exchanger in the tank for hydraulic oil cooling. Accessories include steel or ABS ducting, expansion tanks, fans and anti-vibration mounts.

COMMON FEATURES
The air to water heat exchanger of the EXW series are the
best solution when refrigerated water or water from a cooling
tower is available. With cooling capacities from 870 W to
25000 W, eight models for wall or door mounting and one for
roof mounting, the EXW series is the most complete range
of solutions. The units from 12500 W are built into enclosure
modules for installation on the side of enclosure arrays. There
are versions for the most common power supplies. The wall
mounting units can be installed internally or externally with no
need for mounting accessories. All units are equipped with the
patented system for recovery and evacuation of condensate
(REC). The protection degree rating is IP 55 making the EXW
series the best approach when the enclosures are in aggressive
ambient air.

When connection to a cold water system is possible these compact high performance air/water heat exchangers can be used to great advantage. Large amounts of heat can be safely dissipated from enclosures (700 to 4000W with a flow rate of 200 l/h). All units are extremely flat.

DIRECT CURRENT AIR-OIL HEAT EXCHANGERS:
This series of heat exchangers is particularly useful in cooling oleo-hydraulic plant on mobile machinery as it is fitted with direct current 12 or 24 V electric fans. The cooling element is in aluminium, a material of high thermal conductivity, which provides high thermal yield from relatively contained dimensions. The particular conformation of the radiant block is such that APL series heat exchangers are highly resistant to the stress produced by hammering which, however, at peak value, should not exceed the maximum dynamic pressure of 20 bar. The maximum permitted static pressure is 35 bar.

AKG designs and manufactures heat exchangers for refrigeration dryers for the preparation of compressed air. The heat exchangers transfer heat between a cold medium and the damp compressed air. This cools the compressed air to a pressure dew point. If required the condensation generated by the cooling process is collected in a condensation chamber integrated into the heat exchanger and continually drained off.
By means of optimum dimensioned channels for both the compressed air and the coolant we achieve optimum heat transfer with regard to low pressure difference, and high resistance to contamination.
AKG heat exchangers are used for heat transfer between compressed air and various coolants.
