Our brazed plate heat exchangers are manufactured in 5 sizes in model series 12, 18, 25, 57 and 100. In model series 25 and 57, three plate types "H", "M" and "L" are available, whereas model series 100 uses "M" plates exclusively. In model series 18, "L" plates are additionally available.
For brazing, every other plate is rotated by 180 degrees in the plane to produce to separate flow channels in which the products involved in heat transfer flow in opposite directions. The plate contours generate a highly turbulent flow allowing very efficient heat transfer even with low volumetric flows. Heat transfer depends on the angle of the V-shaped profiling of the individual plate types. The flow gaps produced in this way generate different degrees of turbulences which determines the heat transmission. Three different V-shaped profilings are available, referred to as "H", "M" and "L".

Plate heat exchanger NT150
In developing the new NT series, GEA Ecoflex successfully managed to combine its own many years of experience with market requirements. Now a new plate generation is available which sets new standards in terms of economic efficiency due to low investment, operating and maintenance costs. The optimised plate design requires less heat transfer surface for achieving same capacity and thus reduces investment cost considerably. New installation and gasket technologies make maintenance easier and ensure a perfect fit of the gasket and plate pack. A variety of lengths and profile variants allow design to be matched exactly to the specified operating point in any application.
OptiWave-design
Optimised wave configuration results in ideal flow across the entire plate width and thus ensures the highest heat transfer rates.
AutoLoc-assembly
With the new NT series GEA Ecoflex has introduced a self-centring plate system. This provides a stable, perfectly aligned plate pack, with gaskets positioned precisely and remaining functional for a longer time.
EcoLoc-gasket system
Our new, non-adhesive EcoLoc gaskets guarantee fast, uncomplicated replacement of gaskets.

Inline Plate Heat Exchangers
Bowman In Line Plate Heat Exchangers have been designed as a low-cost alternative to our shell and tube types. They consist of numerous 316 stainless steel heat transfer plates, two outer covers and four connections copper vacuum-brazed together to form an integral unit.
Unlike other plate heat exchangers, they have a unique internal flow arrangement, which enables the inlet and outlet connections to be axially in line. This means that they can be installed directly in pipework without any change of direction. Each fluid stream flows in series through alternate plates. As a consequence, the plate spacing is larger and internal velocities are higher than is normally the case with this type of heat exchanger, thus rendering them less prone to fouling.

The designations "REKUGAVO" and "REKULUVO" describe two highly efficient, fully welded plate heat exchangers for gaseous products, working according to the countercurrent principle. This system allows achieving very high heat recovery rates in an economically efficient manner.
The heat transfer surfaces consist of two profiled plates with a high specific capacity which are assembled into self-supporting packs. Both gases flow through the plates in countercurrent and are separated from each other without leakage. Mixing of the two gas streams and a possible transfer of pollutants is thus almost completely excluded
The REKULUVO (from German "Rekuperativer Luftvorwärmer", i.e. "Recuparative air pre-heater") is particularly suitable for pre-heating the combustion air in petrochemical plants (fired heaters) or in methanol and ammonia plants.
The REKUGAVO (from German "Rekuperativer Gasvorwärmer", i.e. "Recuperative gas pre-heater") is the perfect heat exchanger for heating up flue gas to the catalyst reaction temperature, e.g. in denitration units of refuse incinerating plants.
Depending on requirements, the recuperative heat exchanger can have single- or double-stage design. The hoods provided below and above the heat exchanger packs serve for feeding and discharging and/or for combining the individual volumetric flows from the gases connected in parallel. The hoods can be designed as required, with the products always flowing vertically between the plates, making cleaning much easier.
Technical data:
Products: air or flue gas
Volumetric flows: 5,000 m3/hr min., 2,000,000 m3/hr max.
Temperature: up to 600 °C max.
Pressure range: atmospheric /- 200 mbar
Recovery rate: up to 97 %
Materials: ferritic and austenitic

The Supermax all-welded plate heat exchanger incorporates the benefits of plate and frame exchangers without gaskets. The Supermax all-welded plate heat exchanger provides the thermal efficiency and compactness of a plate and frame unit under conditions that would ordinarily call for a shell and tube unit.
Designed for use with liquids, gases and two phase mixtures at pressures to 70bar and at temperatures up to 540C the Supermax unit works well with aggressive media, such as organic solvents, steam heaters and interchangers that are beyond the capability of a gasketed unit.
The unit features a plate side and a shell side, which offers high pressure ratings. It has alternating channels for hot and cold media, and can offer true counter-current or co-current flow.
Nozzle sizes up to DN300 can be accommodated on the shell side of the exchanger, offering higher steam and liquid flow rates. Nozzles on the plate side can be up to 100.
The Supermax unit can be fabricated from dissimilar metals when only one side will be exposed to corrosive conditions.
|
|
The Ultramax offers all the benefits of a plate-type exchanger but overcomes the limitations of gasketed models. It can operate at very high pressures and at low and high temperatures. The Ultramax can handle liquids, gases and mixtures of the two.
Special alloy construction is available, allowing it to be used with aggressive media.
Applications include: high temperature steam, amines, thermal oil, nitrogen, solvents, and other aggressive media not compatible with gasketed heat exchangers. Four-inch connections allow up to 400 GPM in a single unit.
Threaded, flanged, and sanitary connections make the unit suitable for a number of industries.

Koolant Koolers Heat Exchanger Packages cool indirectly, meaning that your process fluid is never touched by a chiller. Many acid, water, oil and hydraulic fluids are cooled in this way - with the cool side being supplied by a chiller, tower water or even city water. These units can be fitted with our pumps or yours, and configured with exacting controls to hold your temperatures constant.

The compact Maxchanger unit transfers heat in much the same way as the gasketed plate and frame heat exchanger, but does so without gaskets. This ensures greater compactness than a gasketed plate exchanger, and requires only 30-50% of space required for a shell and tube heat exchanger.
Extremely high "U" values and low pressure drops are a result of the unique geometry of its interspaces. The specially embossed dimples on each plate provide maximum pressure-resistant heat transfer contact points. This design allows the Maxchanger to be capable of running under high temperature/ high pressure applications.
Specially dimpled plates are rotated and welded completely together between end plates, and in alternate channels at the inlet / outlet ends and connections. This thoroughly seals the entire unit to prevent leaking or cross-contamination of hot and cold media.
Counter-current flow of fluids is achieved in all Maxchanger designs, providing a close temperature approach capability of less than 1C.
Channels formed between the welded plates and end connections direct the two heat transfer media counter-currently through alternate paths for immediate thermal response and maximum efficiency.

The basic concept for a brazed plate heat exchanger (BPHE) is the use of stainless steel plates (AISI 316L), permanently brazed together with pure copper (99,9% Cu). These plates are then stacked together, alternative rotated of 180°, forming separate flow chambers where two medias exchange heat.

The plate heat exchangers type PWT form an addition to our product range in the field of oil-water heat exchangers. In some cases they represent a cost-effective and space-saving alternative to the standard smooth pipe heat exchangers.
Description
Soldered plate heat exchangers are assembled from stamped special steel plates and connected by means of a copper shim and a special soldering process. Stamping creates a highly turbulent flow in the chambers between the plates, which enables excellent transfer of the heat. The type PWT plates stand out by their following characteristics:
Plates and connections made from special steel 1.4401
Connecting elbows and internal thread and keying surfaces.
