Elastomers have two major properties:
- they are practically incompressible;
- when subject to shear, they have a very low modulus which means that show small reactions for high amplitudes
The shear and compression properties of elastomers enable laminated assemblies to be used as conventional bearings:
- immobilization and load bearing capacity in certains directions;
- capacity to move in directions perpendicular to the previous one.

Microfoam foam is versatile with unlimited applications across a wide range of industries. Available in sheets, rolls and laminated forms. And ... Microfoam sheet foam is the only low density polypropylene sheet foam product on the market.
Features :
- High coefficient of friction provides unequalled protection for easily scratched finishes.
- Low density, lightweight (half the weight of polyethylene sheet foam) make lifting or changing rolls a breeze. Low weight and ease of handling also reduces labor and shipping costs.
- Chemically inert material won’t tarnish or corrode sensitive metals.
- Readily accepts labels and tape. Polypropylene enables even less expensive adhesives to stick better.
- Thermal and vapor transmission properties make Microfoam products the ideal material for insulating blankets and overwinterizing protection for plants.
- Mildew, moisture and fungus resistant, Microfoam sheet foam is safe for the packing of live plants and flowers.
- High melting point allows Microfoam to perform reliably from -250°F up to 250°F with a melting point of 320°F.
- Superior flexibility in the thicker gauges necessary for ease in handling and applying.
- Effective insulation against temperature extremes.
Outstanding breathability enables the release of vapors while it protects against condensation and water damage.
- Can be laminated to a number of substrates to meet specific needs. We offer foam laminated to kraft, linerboard, non-woven, film and cohesive materials.
Superior buoyancy characteristics are ideal for applications including flotation containments.

Geon™ 180 Series specialty dispersion (foam) resins were developed to provide improved foam qualities for specific applications. They also provide high-viscosity/high-yield products used for formulation rheology adjustments.
Applications for the 180 Series include:
Weather stripping
Vinyl sheet flooring foam layers
Unsupported foams for all types of padded products

The high resistance to compression and the excellent damp-resistance properties of STYRISOL® makes it ideally suited as insulation under different flooring types.
Installation UNDER the concrete
STYRISOL® insulation boards are placed directly on the flat and stabilised foundation. A PE-foil needs to be put above the insulation to prevent the mortar from getting between the joints of the boards (creates cold bridges).
Installation ABOVE the concrete
STYRISOL® insulation boards are placed on a smooth concrete surface. We suggest that a water vapour barrier is placed between the boards and the concrete to avoid cold bridges.
Attachment TO the concrete
It is recommended that the insulation is fixed mechanically to the concrete. Underfloor heating STYRISOL® insulation boards can be used in all standard underfloor heating systems.
