The EFOY fuel cell series is the latest generation of fuel cells by SFC. It consists of three models:
•EFOY 600 provides 600 Wh electric energy per day,
•EFOY 1200 provides 1,200 Wh electric energy per day. It is the direct successor of the successful SFC A50 fuel cell by SFC,
•EFOY 1600 is, with 1,600 Wh electric energy per day, the top model for higher energy demands.
EFOY is a reliable and maintenance-free source of electricity for any off grid application, from motor homes, sailboats, holiday cabins to measuring and sensor stations, traffic monitoring units, audio and video equipment for surveillance, biology or observation purposes in many countries from Antartica to Norway and from the US to Europe to Japan.
EFOY provides batteries with up to 130 Ah resp. 1600 Wh per day as needed. Alone or in combination with a PV system, the EFOY will run on its own for months on end. Integration into existing systems goes without a hitch.
All SFC fuel cells operate with SFC fuel cartridges, the safest and most convenient way to power the cell. The cartridges bear the approval of Germany’s technical standards body. With a single M10 10-liter cartridge it is possible to generate more than 600 Ah of electricity . Larger containers are available upon request. |

The EFOY 1600 fuel cell by SFC is, with 1,600 Wh electric energy per day, the top model of the popular EFOY fuel cell family for higher energy demands.
It will provide up to 130 Ah resp. 1600 Wh electricity per day at a weight of only 7.5 kg and a compact size of 43.5 x 20.0 x 27.6 cm.
Experience the silent, environmentally friendly and weather independent way of producing reliable power anywhere and anytime, whenever you need it.

TÜV-approved - All EFOY fuel cartridges by SFC come with TÜV-Product-Service’s seal of approval. EFOY fuel cartridges were designed to the highest safety standards right from the start. For the containers, we chose a particularly impact-resistant material. All SFC fuel cartridges are equipped with a specially designed child proof safety valve.
Safety Valve - All EFOY fuel cartridges are fitted with a safety valve to prevent methanol from escaping. It only opens if the cartridge is connected to an EFOY fuel cell. Removing the cartridge reseals the valve hermetically, preventing users from ever coming into contact with methanol. It’s a lot safer, cleaner and easier way to refuel than filling gasoline-powered generators.
The EFOY fuel cartridge is available in three different sizes. The 5 l (1.32 gal) and 10 l (2.64 gal) cartridges are suitable for every EFOY fuel cell and within driving vehicles. The 28 l (7.40 gal) cartridge is optimized for use with the EFOY 1600 XL fuel cell and stationary applications. |

The FCPS is an portable energy supply for the mobile and unwired world. With one single M500 fuel cartridge, the fuel cell generates more than 440 Wh of net energy output. With its light weight of only 470 g (1.0 lb), the M500 has an energy density of over 930 Wh/kg. This is over 5 times more than state-of-the-art batteries offer today. Furthermore the cartridges are safe, hot-swap capable and easy to be replaced in a few seconds. The cartridges can be shipped by air cargo world wide and can be disposed of easily. Recharging has never been more convienent
The FCPS is a hybrid system with an exchangeable Li-polymer hybrid battery, which guarantees instant power at any time the system is switched on. Specific voltage adapters (highly efficient DC/DC converters) are available for a maximum of flexibility. This Prototype is available for strategic project customers only.
Please note: This product is a prototype and is not yet commercially available! |

In the last years COELMO® started the developing of new generating sets using Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cells fed by hydrogen. COELMO®’s hydrogen-fueled products create high quality, reliable power and offer the security of standby, emergency or uninterruptible power where it is needed most.
COELMO® has developed a backup power generator fed by pure hydrogen for indoor operation. H2POWER – BPG120 is a fuel cell generator powered by Ballard's fuel cell technology.
COELMO® is now developing a natural gas-fueled 2kW combined heat and power generator for the residential market H2POWER – CHP200.

Fossil fuels do not only pollute the environment, they are also likely to run out in the not too distant future. Hydrogen could be a good alternative: it is abundantly available and actually offers the perspective of allowing significant reductions in CO2 emissions.
The mixture of hydrogen with oxygen results in the production of energy with the only by-product being water. Fuel cells are power plants where this reaction happens. They could be used to power the environmentally friendly car of the future; doing away with the problem of exhaust gases and replace them with pure water! We might soon be able to commute to work of travel to our favorite holiday destination knowing that the environment stands to benefit.
Such fuel cells also offer the potential to be much more economical and efficient compared to traditional combustion engines and will significantly cut the dependence of our economy on oil and other fossil fuels.
Fuel cells are like electrical batteries which continuously charge themselves, if fed by fuel. There are still plenty of practical barriers to large scale commercial use but the future is promising. |

For fuel cell applications, pure hydrogen generators are not a very good solution as they are bulky, heavy and expensive. Fortunately a fuel cell can run very good on a hydrogen rich stream rather then pure hydrogen. Therefore a fuel processor consisting of a reforming reactor in combination with a shift and prox are a more favorable solution. Also the low storage density of hydrogen or the lack of sufficient hydrogen infrastructure can be a driving force to choose for a more compact on-board fuel processor. Moreover on-board reforming gives a choice to use several (green) fuels, such as methanol, ethanol, biodiesel and DME. In certain stationary fuel cell applications similar needs for on-board reforming exist.
OEM's who need to adapt their products to the new technology of fuel cells are often not well experienced in fuel cell and reforming technologies. HyGear with its extensive experience in reforming technologies and fuel cell system integration can be a partner in developing the required solutions. |
