The new Ultra platform incorporates innovative solutions, such as the new Ultra Fastand Large Volumesplitless techniques, delivering unprecedented performance.
Ultra in speed of analysis
Featuring a linear heating rate of up to 1200 °C per minute, the TRACE GC Ultra is able to dramatically decrease sample run times in a wide range of GC applications from crude oils, pesticides and hydrocarbons determination, to drug screening and food and flavors characterization. Combined with conventional GC or MS detectors, this technique enormously increases lab productivity without compromising analytical resolution, precision or reliability.
Ultra in performance
The new Large Volumesplitless technique, only available with the Ultra platform, extends the sample injection volume of conventional GC methods without requiring additional investment, further training, or the need to revalidate methods. This new capability results in dramatic increases in sensitivity, without incremental sample preparation costs in a large array of trace determinations, and is extremely easy to set-up and operate with a standard split/splitless injector.

The Varian 400 GC Series is a new family of high performance gas chromatographs and application specific analysis solutions that offer faster separations and increased confidence in results for the broadest range of GC analysis needs possible. The family consists of two GC models and an associated range of analyzers and solutions designed for both standard analysis needs as well as user specified.
The 450-GC with its multi-channel (3) design, a broad array of available inlets and detectors and both standard and customizable gas and liquid valve systems to choose from provides the level of flexibility needed to be able to adapt to ever changing needs as necessary. As such, it is Varian’s premiere GC.
The 430-GC offers the same outstanding performance as the 450-GC but in a diminutive single channel saving package. It occupies about ½ the bench space of a multi-channel GC helping you maintain a less cluttered workspace. The single channel design and operational simplicity render it the preferred choice for dedicated, routine use.
Both systems are combined with Varian's powerful Galaxie software, industry leading capillary columns and 40+ year track record in providing robust, application engineered analyzers and comprehensive solutions.

225-MS GC Ion Trap
The True Benchtop GC/MS System
The Varian 225-MS is the world's first mass spectrometer to enclose all of its components, including the foreline pump, in one compact design. For laboratories where space limitations restrict analytical capacity, the Varian 225-MS GC Ion Trap delivers excellent sensitivity and selectivity in an extremely compact unit.
The self-contained vacuum module yields a number of significant benefits:
Because the turbomolecular pump is closer to the foreline pump, it can work at lower speeds and operating temperatures. THis reduces the background which allows improved sensitivity.
For convenience, the module does not require oil changes during its lifetime.
The much quieter vacuum module reduces noise in the laboratory.
Elimination of the hose from the foreline pump to the turbomolecular pump reduces the space requirement significantly.
