SIMTRONICS “TT63ES” detector is a semi-conductor sensor type with a very low cross sensitivity to other gas.
The basic principle is the resistance variation of a tin oxide semi-conductor. The inflammable gas reacts with the oxygen absorbed at the surface of the semi-conductor, and causes the electric resistance to decrease. The nature of the semi-conductor, its doping and its service temperature contribute to better detectivity of certain gases.
When other semiconductor on the market need to smell gas every week to avoid the sensor to fall asleep, the SIMTRONICSsemiconductor sensor only needs a six-month or one year calibration test.
Modern electronics provides high performance for humidity and temperature rate compensation and long term stability. The circuits ensuring the supply to the sensor, the amplifier and the interface are grouped in the flameproof enclosure onto which the detection probe is secured. |

The Model IR2100 Infrared Point Detector is a microprocessor-based hydrocarbon gas detector that continuously monitors combustible gases and vapors within the lower explosive limit (LEL) and provides alarm indication.
All electronics are contained within an explosion-proof housing so that the IR2100's detector information can be processed locally. The IR2100 operates with a 4-20mA signal, which is proportional to 0 to 100% LEL gas concentration at the detector. RS-485 serial communications are MODBUS RTU compatible. The RS-485 output provides status, alarm, fault and other information for operation, troubleshooting or programming the unit. |

Catalytic DrägerSensors
Catalytic DrägerSensors for the detection of flammable gases and vapors utilise Pellistors which are based on the catalytic effect. Different sensor versions will suit even the most demanding industrial applications.
The DrägerSensor Ex PR M (PR = poison resistant) contains pellistors, which in the presence of catalytic poisons have a longer lifetime than conventional sensors.
The DrägerSensor Ex HT M contains also PR-pellistors, but additionally is approved to be used at temperatures up to 150 °C.
The DrägerSensor Ex LC M contains PR-pellistors, which by their special encapsulation and electronic amplification are suitable to monitor very low gas concentrations. The measuring range is 0...10% LEL.

TGS6810, which can detect both methane and LP gas, has been developed for residential gas detection. Combining Figaro’s 35+ years of experience in catalyst material technology with its advanced micro fabrication technology, Figaro can produce the most advanced compact pellistor sensors whose durability, stability, quick response, and linear output make them ideal for detecting many combustible gases. As the sensor possesses an adsorbent inside its sensor cap, its cross sensitivity to alcohol is much smaller than traditional catalytic type sensors. In addition, TGS6810 is more durable against silicone compounds than the traditional catalytic type sensors.
* linear output

TGS2610 - LP gas sensor
TGS2610 has been widely used for more than 10 years for LP gas detection in residential and industrial gas detectors. Unlike catalytic type sensors, TGS2610 is also suitable for portable leak detectors due to its high sensitivity to very low concentrations of LP gas and its low power requirements. In addition, the sensor also has wide application in recreational vehicle and marine applications where durability against severe environmental conditions is required.
TGS2611 - Methane gas sensor
TGS2611 has established itself in the methane detection marketplace for more than 10 years. With superior durability against poisons and interferent gases when compared to competing pellistor type sensors, this sensor has found wide application in gas detectors for residential and industrial usage, portable leak detectors, as well as in natural gas vehicles where severe environmental conditions are encountered.

The sensing element of Figaro gas sensors is a tin dioxide (SnO2) semiconductor which has low conductivity in clean air. In the presence of a detectable gas, the sensor's conductivity increases depending on the gas concentration in the air. A simple electrical circuit can convert the change in conductivity to an output signal which corresponds to the gas concentration.
The TGS 832 has high sensitivity to R-134a, the most promising alternative to R-12, commonly used in air conditioning systems and refrigerators. R-12 and R-22 are also detectable by TGS 832. With its good long term stability, TGS 832 is an excellent, low-cost sensor for CFC detection. |

When used with gas and smoke sensors (refer to page 96), GRM
continuously monitors explosive gases, vapours and/or smoke and
generates alarms. The GRM electronic gas and smoke detector is installed in boiler rooms and basements, storage, office and living rooms as well as
public facilities or industrial buildings for increased safety (building
technology). The evaluation unit is designed for either wall mounting
or control panel mounting by means of a mounting frame (refer
to page 74). GRM has an alarm threshold and is fitted with a relay
contact. When the threshold value is exceeded, the unit generates an
alarm signal. The red "Alarm" LED lights up and the alarm relay
switches. An additional integrated buzzer provides an audible alarm.
This audible alarm can be muted with the re-set button. If the condition
which caused an alarm is cleared, the visual alarm can then also
be re-set by once again pressing the re-set button. Only then can
the alarm be muted with the re-set button. However, if the gas concentration level is still above the alarm threshold level, muting of the alarm is not possible. |

TGS 3870 is Figaro's new metal oxide semiconductor gas sensor for the detection of both methane and carbon monoxide. Using a micro-bead gas sensing structure, both methane and carbon monoxide can be detected with a single sensor element by periodic application of two different heater voltages (high and low). Miniaturization of the gas sensing bead results in a heater power consumption of only 38mW (average).
TGS 3870 has low sensitivity to alcohol vapors (a typical interference gas in the residential environment) and has high durability, making the sensor ideal for consumer market gas alarms. |
