Alphasense Pellistors are available in three housing sizes: A, D and the new F size for fixed installation applications. The innovative design of the Alphasense Pellistor range provides high quality, low power (only 190mW) and excellent poison resistance.
As with all other Alphasense sensors, computer controlled stabilisation racks to continuously monitor every sensor during initial conditioning ensures that only sensors operating within specification are allowed to be tested with our ATAV (Alphasense Test and Validation) system. Performance of very sensor is traceable via bar coding.
CH-A3 is a drop-in 20mm diameter replacement to existing products with improved stability and poison resistance;
CH-D3 is a unique miniature size - 11.5mm height, 15mm diameter, complementing the existing and fast-growing Alphasense D sensor family - with the same good stability and high poison resistance of the CH-A3.
All pellistors are housed in certified flameproof chambers.
Alphasense Pellistors include a matched pair of sensing and compensator pellistor beads, sealed in a 316 stainless steel housing with stainless steel flame arrester sinter.

With a PID the sample gas is exposed to deep ultraviolet light from a lamp. The emitted light ionises targeted gases in the sample so they can be detected by the gas detector and reported as a concentration (ppb or ppm).
The Alphasense PID can be installed in portable and stationary gas monitors that accept either Alphasense Ltd CH-A3 or other manufactures compatible pellistor cells. Thus providing complete PID capability in a package that has the same dimensional and electrical profile as Pellistors (providing the electronics input circuit is designed to take the sensor’s output range). This opens up an incredible variety of environmental and safety applications in industrial, commercial and residential markets.
The Alphasense PID sensor is offered in two models. They are virtually insensitive to humidity changes, providing unparalleled performance in a variety of applications.
PID-A1 has a linear dynamic range of 100-ppb to 6,000-ppm (Isobutylene).
PID-AH has a linear dynamic range of 5-ppb to 50-ppm (Isobutylene).
The Sensors include a Detector with 10.6eV Lamp, Lamp Driver, Amplifier Circuitry, Removable Electrode Stack & Particulate Filter.

Catalytic DrägerSensors
Catalytic DrägerSensors for the detection of flammable gases and vapors utilise Pellistors which are based on the catalytic effect. Different sensor versions will suit even the most demanding industrial applications.
The DrägerSensor Ex PR M (PR = poison resistant) contains pellistors, which in the presence of catalytic poisons have a longer lifetime than conventional sensors.
The DrägerSensor Ex HT M contains also PR-pellistors, but additionally is approved to be used at temperatures up to 150 °C.
The DrägerSensor Ex LC M contains PR-pellistors, which by their special encapsulation and electronic amplification are suitable to monitor very low gas concentrations. The measuring range is 0...10% LEL.

TGS6810, which can detect both methane and LP gas, has been developed for residential gas detection. Combining Figaro’s 35+ years of experience in catalyst material technology with its advanced micro fabrication technology, Figaro can produce the most advanced compact pellistor sensors whose durability, stability, quick response, and linear output make them ideal for detecting many combustible gases. As the sensor possesses an adsorbent inside its sensor cap, its cross sensitivity to alcohol is much smaller than traditional catalytic type sensors. In addition, TGS6810 is more durable against silicone compounds than the traditional catalytic type sensors.
* linear output
* compact size
* small sensitivity to alcohol
* sensitive to both methane and LP gas
* meets RoHS requirements

Electrochemical Sensors
Design does matter: a bigger sensor means bigger electrodes and more electrolyte, hence
faster response
higher accuracy
more stability
longer life
The smart DraegerSensor with embedded micro-chip and temperature element supports sensor recognition, numerous selftest functions, remote calibration and signal compensation over the entire temperature range of typically -40 to +65 ºC.

LPM2610 - Pre-calibrated LP module
NGM2611- Pre-calibrated methane module
Figaro offers pre-calibrated gas sensor modules for residential applications using either TGS2610 (for LP gas) or TGS2611 (for methane gas) as described above. This module is calibrated in Figaro’s humidity and temperature controlled facility and includes a precisely adjusted load resistor and a temperature compensation circuit. By simply inserting this module into the mother board of a gas detector, a reliable alarm setting can be achieved while eliminating the costly gas calibration process.
* meets RoHS requirements
* maintenance free
* alarm threshold of 5~20% LEL
* meets UL1484, EN50194
* compact size (27mm x 12.5mm, 2.5g)

TGS2610 - LP gas sensor
TGS2610 has been widely used for more than 10 years for LP gas detection in residential and industrial gas detectors. Unlike catalytic type sensors, TGS2610 is also suitable for portable leak detectors due to its high sensitivity to very low concentrations of LP gas and its low power requirements. In addition, the sensor also has wide application in recreational vehicle and marine applications where durability against severe environmental conditions is required.
TGS2611 - Methane gas sensor
TGS2611 has established itself in the methane detection marketplace for more than 10 years. With superior durability against poisons and interferent gases when compared to competing pellistor type sensors, this sensor has found wide application in gas detectors for residential and industrial usage, portable leak detectors, as well as in natural gas vehicles where severe environmental conditions are encountered.
* UL recognized component
* compact size (TO-5 can)
* long life
* pre-sorted for easy calibration
* meets RoHS requirements

The sensing element of Figaro gas sensors is a tin dioxide (SnO2) semiconductor which has low conductivity in clean air. In the presence of a detectable gas, the sensor's conductivity increases depending on the gas concentration in the air. A simple electrical circuit can convert the change in conductivity to an output signal which corresponds to the gas concentration.
The TGS 832 has high sensitivity to R-134a, the most promising alternative to R-12, commonly used in air conditioning systems and refrigerators. R-12 and R-22 are also detectable by TGS 832. With its good long term stability, TGS 832 is an excellent, low-cost sensor for CFC detection.
