The Westermo Fieldbus devices are industrial PROFIBUS DP modules. There are different types of slave modules and one Master module. PROFIBUS adapters that is able to transfer PROFIBUS DP I/O data via serial communication. I.e leased lines, dial up industrial modems, Ethernet adapters, GSM modems or radio modems without any use of special drivers or special PLC bords. The FD-20, PROFIBUS DP Master module act the same way as the adapters on the serial side and act as a stand alone master on the PROFIBUS side. A combination with our Ethernet adapter gives the opportunity to connect PROFIBUS to Ethernet PROFIBUS DP industrial converter to make a transparent connection for a different serial interfaces to a PROFIBUS DP network. |

Industrial ethernet gateway - echochange connects Ethernet worlds
More and more Ethernet is being used in industry. Serveral protocols based on Ethernet are available: ISO (H1), ISO on TCP (RFC1006) or EtherNet/IP. Although these protocols are similar, communication between the corresponding networks is not that simple.

Direct communication with S5!
The Data Station Plus is a multiple protocol industrial converter, a system data logger, and a web interface for industrial applications.
With two RS-232 and one RS-422/485 communications ports, as well as a 10 Base-T/100 Base-TX Ethernet port, the Data Station can connect to various devices simultaneously. With downloadable communications drivers, the Data Station can communicate to virtually any serial or Ethernet device in its own native language, and transfer that data to and from any other connected device. Integrating devices with mismatched protocols can now be done with the click of a mouse!
The data logging facility allows variables to be collected and stored along with a time and date stamp for later review of the process. Files are stored on CompactFlash in IT ready format, allowing programs such as Microsoft Excel to access them.
The "virtual INDUSTRIAL HMI" facility provides a means to view and control a process from any networked PC, using only a standard web browser. The new VGA resolution provides SCADA like display capability at no extra cost. The port sharing facility allows serially connected devices to be reprogrammed remotely. |

The BradCommunications applicom® PROFINET IO Proxy provides access to PROFIBUS-DP devices via the PROFINET Real-Time Channel.

Connecting incompatible networks
In the field of automatic control many different Fieldbuses and Industrial Ethernet became established worldwide. Again and again the task of interconnecting these incompatible networks comes up. The UNIGATE® FB-series was created exactly for that task. The series contains Fieldbus-Slave as well as Industrial Ethernet versions.The UNIGATE® FB is designed as DIN-rail module and contains the selected Fieldbuses or Ethernet in the mechanical variant carried out in the respective standard. Internally the product is realized by using two UNIGATE® IC-modules that are mounted on a carrier motherboard. By this modular structure all Fieldbus- and Ethernet-versions can be supplied, provided that the respective
IC-modules are available. The number of available versions is growing steadily by the continuous development of new IC-modules e. g. in the Industrial Ethernet field.
In case of the series UNIGATE® FB, the data exchange between the Fieldbuses or Ethernet is realized through a Script. With the free PC-tool "Protocol Developer" this Script is generated and optimally adjusted to the final product and the requirements. |

The PortMaster V3 is MODBUS communication unit, which enables multi-port serial communication, protocol conversion in industrial applications.
The PortMaster comprises four RS232/RS485 ports, one Ethernet and one USB port. Each serial port is independently programmable as Modbus master or slave ports and Ethernet and USB ports can be defined as slave ports. Also all ports can be used as configuration port.
Each port defined as a MODBUS slave can be connected to a PLC MANUFACTURERS or RTU port defined as a MODBUS master. The ports defined as masters are connected to field devices and provide automatic cyclic polling of the field devices.
Master ports can access more than one slave port with Address Remapping function.
The PortMaster is a cascadable unit, which allows having more than four ports when required.
Configuration of the PortMaster can be done with PROFESSIONAL PC connected over USB port with PortConfig, a Windows based professional software. |
