The distinguishing features of D.C. motors in general are their high start torque, which enables them to overcome heavy loads at start-up, as well as a torque/speed ratio suitable for high work loads and to absorb the kickbacks of a variable load. Another important characteristic of the D.C. motor is its density i.e. considerable power and torques are concentrated within a compact size compared to other types of electric motors.
EC series of D.C. motors have perfected these typical features and offer the following advantages:
- Extremely compact with a robust and sturdy structure
- High quality balancing
- Low noise levels
Other features:
- Magnetic field generated by permanent magnets
- Tubular construction, without fan
- Available in 5 sizes: diameter 42, 52, 65, 80, 110 mm
- Low voltage power supply, 12 or 24 Vdc
- Power ratings available from 30 to 800 W S2
- Brushes made of a graphite/copper composite with a large surface to handle the current density well

With the new GRP transmission row it acts around a new transmission generation developed on the basis of most modern calculation methods using high-quality materials for high speed worm gear. The treatment of all safety-relevant parts such as housings, worm gears and worm shafts takes place in principle in the own manufacturing on precision machine tools. This transmission row was developed in particular for the theatre technology and escalators and offers the following advantages: - all safety-relevant parts are subject to a positive connection - the necessary collateral particularly for the theatre technology corresponds to the FKM guideline - for the very torsionally stiff housings are appropriate for FEM computations pre for particularly heavy operating conditions, in particular for the steel plant industry, can the housings in GGG - to be supplied - the worm gears consist of high-quality centrifuge bronze, the worm shafts are case-hardened and polished - for passenger hoists and theatre drives with high requirement in terms of the quiet running teeth in the quality 4/5 can be implemented - the use of high-quality synthetic lubricants ensure a long life span, small Wartungsintervalle and efficiencies by 90%

The helical gearbox from the CMG series is available in 4 different sizes and has the following characteristics:
- Body and the PAM flange are made from aluminium
- The feet and output flange from iron
- The gears are always rectified for stages 1 and 2
- Permanent lubricant
The intensely thought out engineering behind the project allows us to make up the gears quickly by combining specific kits: this reduces the number of components and codes to manage and speeds up assembling and delivery time, which makes management easier and reduces warehouse costs.
The CMG is unique in its type as it is characterised by a higher grade of modularity which makes it ideal for many applications. Starting from the standard base it is possible to configurate the gear according to the applications requirements.

Varvel continues to score successes in its product range completion with the new hollow output shaft speed reducers 'Series RN-RO-RV'.
Each size of this new series - displayed at the former Hannover Fair, April 2007 - is designed with a common base body that gives rise to three different speed reducer lines by the means of the appropriate input module fitting: RN shaft mount, RO horizontal and RV vertical input bevel/helical.
Speed reducers are designed in six sizes - aluminium pressure die cast for the smallest three and grey cast iron for the bigger ones - with 30 reduction ratios in two and three stages, and output torques from 180 Nm to 3200 Nm.
Multiple foot-, flange- or torque arm mountings are available as well as hollow output shafts (keyed, shrink-disk, splined) and solid simple or double sided.
Same fixing footprint for the three versions, high flexibility, easy mounting and quick lead times are the pluses that make the speed reducers RN-RO-RV a really new and advanced range.
