E Glass yarns are made of glass of high stability and durability and are, with the exception of sizing ingredients, inorganic, incombustible and will neither expand nor contract with moisture changes. The glass composition meets the certification for E glass as defined by ASTM's D578-00 Standards Specification for Glass Fiber Strands.
Our E Glass yarns are available with a wide variety of starch/oil and resin compatible direct sizing, tailored for specific applications, process, and product requirements.
AGY produces S-2 Glass® Yarns, which are continuous fibers twisted together to provide strand integrity and processing advantages for textile processes such as weaving, braiding, plying, and cabling. S-2 Glass Yarns are available in a number of constructions and size systems tailored to meet the needs of the end user. There are two main families of S-2 Glass Yarns - starch oil sized yarns and direct sized yarns.
S-2 Glass® Yarns - Starch Oil Size
AGY produces D450, G150, and G75 yarns with a starch/oil size system optimized for weaving processes where fabrics will be heat cleaned and finished with fabric finishes. These yarns consist of numerous filaments twisted together to form single yarns. The size chemistry protects the glass filaments from abrasion during processing and is typically removed after processing. Fabrics are treated with resin-compatible finishes.
S-2 Glass® Yarns - Direct Size
AGY produces G150 and G75 yarns with direct size systems that are optimized for resin-compatibility without fabric heat cleaning and finishing requirements. These yarns are developed for typical yarn processes such as weaving, and are developed with direct size systems to provide added value to the composite manufacturers.
Texturized yarn is the equivalent material of asbestos product utilized for machining fabric and pultruding pattern. The fabric is adopted in filtration, heat insulation, decoration and friction material, ect.
Characteristics:
