Ball mills are used primary for single stage fine grinding, regrinding, and as the second stage in two stage grinding circuits
Grinding of materials in a tumbling mill with the presence of metallic balls or other media dates back to the late 1800's. Since that time, Metso
Minerals and its predecessor companies, MPSI, Sala, Marcy, Hardinge, Kennedy Van Saun (KVS), Denver Equipment, Allis Chalmers, Boliden
Allis, and Dominion Engineering, have designed and manufactured more than 8,000 grinding mills.
Metso overflow ball mill sizes range from 5 ft. x 8 ft. with 75 HP to 26 ft. x 41 ft. with 20,000 HP.
Normal feed size to a Metso Minerals ball mill is 80% passing 1/4" (6mm or finer) for hard ores and 80% passing 1" (25mm or finer) for soft ores.
Product size is typically 35 mesh or finer.
Operation
Ball mills operate either in open or closed circuit. Open circuit operation is best utilized when:
Another stage of grinding follows the mill
Reduction ratio is small
Feed material is already fine and one pass through the mill produces the desired results
Product size control is not critical and oversize material can be tolerated in the product

Ball mills are the most effective laboratory mills for batch-wise, rapid comminution of medium-hard to very hard samples down to the finest particle sizes. The grinding can take place dry or wet. Grinding sets of many different materials are available. The mills can also be used for mixing and homogenisation.

MCP offers the broadest ball joint product line in the industry. Designs include North American standards, British standards, and European DIN standards.
|
|
Ball joints serve as linking and guiding elements for movable parts and create corner joints. These parts from component suppliers can significantly simplify mechanical construction, be used to transfer power in offset axles, transmit movement and are indispensable in all mechanical operations such as cushioning, drawing, tilting, levering, etc.
mbo Osswald always keeps a large number of ball joints out of his product palette of more than 12,000 parts in stock. In addition to the DIN 71802 ball joints which consist of DIN 71805 housings and DIN 71803 ball studs, every possible variation is ready to be called up by the customer. There is also a choice of surface protection such as, for example, blank, galvanised zinc, steel or stainless-steel versions.
For problematic environmental conditions (dust, lubricants) there are special ball joints with sealing caps available. The programme is extended with axial joints.
|
|
Housings, ball studs and Co. are as various in their geometry, appearance and construction as the ideas of the designers.
There are standard parts in every possible size, construction and material composition available for most applications. As one of the leading German specialist for linking elements, mbo Osswald always keeps a large number of ball studs and housings out of his product palette of more than 12,000 parts in stock.
|
|
Application: Quick Disconnect Ball Joints are used in applications where the housing needs to be easily disconnected from the ball stud. This is accomplished by pulling back the spring-loaded outer housing.
Plating: parts are plated zinc with a yellow dichromate finish.
Specials: Special sizes and configurations are available in volume.

GMT ball joints are structural elements whose inner ball is firmly connected to the outer metal by means of a vulcanized elastomer layer. Such joints are designed for multi-directional torsional loads and thus, ideal as vibration-technological components for joints and connecting rods. One advantage is the fact that all movements can be achieved without any lubricants. GMT ball joints can be made up of an inner pin/ through hole as well as of an outer socket sonsisting of one or several segments.

|
The most economical linkage option. Avoid the loose fit of pinned connections with a ball joint linkage. Offered in a wide range of styles from the basic staked to a hardened housing and snap ring assembly for increased wear and strength. Quick disconnect versions as well as plastic ball joints are also available. Steel version are available with rubber dirt shields to offer added protection against the environment.

A new range of rod ends is now available from Rino Industries Ltd of Chesterfield, as featured in their new catalogue.
The range includes heavy duty rod ends with integral self-aligning ball or spherical roller and plain bearings in both male & female versions. They are available in either left or right hand threads with no price difference, surprisingly, between the two. They are also available in stainless steel, should the standard forged steel not be suitable for your application.
All of the range is virtually maintenance free & many feature long-time lubrication.
|
|
Track rollers are self-retaining, single or double row units with particularly thick-walled outer rings. These bearings can support axial forces in both directions as well as high radial forces. The bearing outer rings have a crowned or cylindrical outside surface. Designs with a crowned outside surface are used where there is misalignment in relation to the raceway and edge stresses must be avoided. The track rollers are available with an inner ring, with a stud and with a plastic tyre on the outer ring.

The Eliminator HD Heavy Duty ball screw linear actuator provides a strong, durable, and precise linear motion actuator for industrial automation.
The Eliminator HD ball screw actuator converts the latest motor technology into high load, high speed, and high accuracy linear motion. Eliminator HD replaces hydraulic and pneumatic linear actuators, cams, levers, and linkages, with controllable motion, repeatable position, and easy adjustment.
E-DRIVE Design, Incorporated has shown consistent success in the toughest applications, e.g. High loads, high speeds, high precision, and extreme durability. Precision ball screw systems, tailored for maximum life, load and speed, provide the motion while fully enclosed, thus eliminating contamination related failures. A long bronze nose bearing provides support for the extended piston. Rugged bronze keys in opposing steel slots provide anti-rotation and counter the tangential forces created during high speed, high frequency, and high load operation.
While other actuator designs force a particular motor decision, the Eliminator HD is designed to suit virtually any motor, gear box, or gearhead the customer chooses to use. In-line as well as parallel offset configurations are standard with 1:1 and 2:1 synchronous gearbelt ratios available.
Dual, nonferrous dovetail switch tracks provide a simple method of placing and adjusting switches for over travel protection as well as "home" detection. Hall effect type limit switches are available.
