The angular grippers series 1 and 2 exist in 4 sizes, classified by the diameter of their piston. This allows to have a varied range, going from the NMA16 (small dimensions - compactness ) to the NMA51 with large clamping force.
Tightening self-locking
The actuation of the fingers is "in corner effect" with sliding motion in curved grooves developing a gripping force very significant and progressive until direct mechanical self-locking in closing. It results the best power/mass ratio, necessary for the robotics applications.
Protection
The NMA grippers are entirely closed (gripping side) by static joints, and a constant contact on the particular profile of the fingers is opposed to the penetrations of aggressive agents. With the V option, a pressurisation at the right of these joints improve this protection.
Dissymmetrical efforts
Being self-directional directly in front of the jaws on cylindrical range, the NMA can absorb any radial effort, in particular during assembly of dissymmetrical jaws in form or length.
Force increased on 1 finger
The originality above allows versions with 1 locked or single jaws; the gripping force normally distributed on 2 jaws is deferred entirely on only 1, doubling it appreciably.
The modular combination of several grippers with single jaws can satisfy the gripping of bulky parts.

Parallel gripper: the jaws move in a straight line. There may be two, three or even four
iaws.
Hinged gripper: the jaws are hinged and move along the arc of a circle. It is generally cheaperthan a parallel gripper but there are some limitations (see drawing 1.6):
- If the part has varying dimensions, the contact area changes.
- If the part is cylindrical with varying dimensions, the position of the axis of the clamped part varies.
Gripper with retracting jaws: the jaws hâve an opening angle of about 90 The clamping fingers can retract fully from the work top, and so, in certain cases, it is possible to avoid one linear retraction motion (see drawing 1.5).
Toggle gripper: a hinged gripper with a toggle-action mechanism to achieve high clamping forces. Clamping is irréversible even when there is no pressure, so the part cannot be released accidentally. The opening angle is 90e so it acts as retracting gripper. The clamping force is high within a limited angle only.

The XRAY end effector concept was developed for applications that impart high acceleration to heavy objects or require extremely long, precisely positioned jaws. These applications put extreme stress on the end effector. XRAY end effectors use a ceramic bearing system, the same system that is used in ZAYTRAN high load LSA actuators, to isolate the precision jaw positioning system from jaw torque and force. The ceramic bearing rail allows the end effectors to be small and light weight while delivering gripping force in excess of 2500N (560 pounds) and to tolerate jaw torque of 600NM (405 ft-lb). XRAY end effectors truly deliver: “TWICE THE FORCE...HALF THE SIZE”.

The parallel grippers series 1 and 2 currently exist in 4 sizes, classified by the diameter of their piston.
This allows to have a varied energy range of thightening, from NMG16 for compactness, to NMG52 with large clamping force.
Rigorously parallel tightening
Each finger is interdependent from a slide actuated by 2 pinions, guaranteeing a rigorously parallel displacement, without effect of wedging, reducing the load on the guide.
Fonctional take-up clearance
The functional clearance on guides can be modified with tightening of the top cover.,
Protection
NMG grippers are entirel closed (gripping side) with a cover and side tubes with reduced gap.
Dissymmetrical efforts
Being self-directional directly in the mechanism of the fingers on cylindrical range, the NMG can absorb any radial effort, in particular during assembly of dissymmetrical fingers in form or length.
Force increased on 1 finger
The originality above allows the versions 1 locked or single jaw; the gripping force normally distributed on 2 fingers is deferred entirely on 1 only, doubling it appreciably.

GR Series Angular Gripper
The GR-Series has a double acting piston attached to a cross bar by a connecting rod. The linear movement of the piston is transformed into angular movement of the jaws through a double toggle link mechanism.
AG Series Gripper
The AG Series angular gripper utilizes a double acting piston with a dual pivot system. The piston has a single center pivot that drives each gripper jaw open and closed. The gripper jaws have an independent stationary pivot which each jaw arcs about. The ratio between the piston and jaw pivots has been optimized for maximum operating performance. The AG series angular gripper is a cartridge style design. The cartridge design utilizes a minimum number of components, seven major components in all. The cartridge design offers the greatest grip force to size ratio over other conventional designs.
TJ Series Grippers
The TJ Series grippers provide high grip force in a compact design. Shielded design make the TJ series ideal for machine loading and unloading. Compact design, to grip force ratio are ideal for confined work areas.
PG6J80 Series
The PG6J80 Series 6 finger gripper design utilizes a dual acting piston to open and close gripper jaws. All six jaws are synchronized for accurate positioning. The included ejectors operate independent of the gripper jaws, providing a convenient method to strip parts from the jaws. An example of this could be, expanding an o-ring and pushing it on to the desired part.

NRG Series Gripper
Synchronized Motion: Two opposing pistons share a common bore. Each piston transfers force and motion (undiminished) independently to each slide. The motion of both pistons is guided through a single piece mechanism which provides self centering motion of each slide, repeatable within 0.002 inches. Gripping force and synchro-nization are totally independent of each other. This results in minimum wear and maximum performance life.
Compliant Motion: The compliant gripper utilizes the same construction as described above, except the single piece mechanism providing synchronized slide motion is removed. The slides are now independent of each other, allowing the gripper to comply to the part's position. Once the part has been gripped, its exact position is held. Position drift does not occur. Compliant grippers offer an economical solution, potentially eliminating the use of a compliant wrist.
Features:
Body: One piece construction for maximum rigidity. Hardcoat Teflon ®impregnated inside and out. compact, lightweight, high grip force to size ratio.
Slides: Slides are 100% engaged in body throughout the entire stroke length. Electroless Nickel plated. No external arms, reduced pinch points, OSHA
Synchronize: The synchronizing mechanism is housed internally, protected from external contamination. Hardened tool steel.
Position Sensing: Position sensor mounting track and magnetic pistons, standard on all models. Easy access, total adjustability, factory or field installed.
