Securiterre - Dual Mode Security
Designed to prevent static accumulation and discharge during road tanker loading and off-loading, the Securiterre ensures correct bonding and grounding procedures before product transfer.
The Securiterre continuously monitors the static earth path and carries out a unique “tanker verification” when connected. Only when these two conditions are within correct parameters the system becomes permissive, thereby eliminating the potential for operator error. Local indicator lights confirm the tanker/earth condition to the operator, whilst the internal voltage free switch contacts may be interlocked with tanker-loading systems, pumps, valves, alarms, etc. When not connected to the rest plug or rail tanker the circuit is grounded through a large resistance to reduce the hazard of sparking.
The Securiterre has proven indispensible wherever road tankers are involved in the transfer of flammable products (liquids, gases or bulk powders, flakes or granules). The Securiterre has been designed in accordance to ATEX regulations and is certified for use in hazardous areas.

The ground resistance of substations can be measured with two auxiliary electrodes which are put into the ground. To avoid influences from the mains current and its harmonics, this measurement should preferably be carried out with 128 Hz.The high output power of the CPC 100 ensures a high ratio of the signal level to the noise level. Thanks to the signal processor technology, the measuring procedure is very selective and disturbances by ground currents are reduced to a minimum.

Earth Testing covers the testing of earth electrodes and the measurement of soil resistivity. The instrument requirements depend on the range of applications.

3731 Clamp-On Ground Resistance Testers
The Clamp-on Ground Resistance Tester Model 3731 measures ground rod and small grid resistance through any season, without the use of auxiliary ground rods.
Check Resistance on Single and Multiple Rods or Grids
Clamp-on Ground Resistance Testers are used in multi-grounded systems without disconnecting the ground under test. The Model 3731 simply clamps around the ground conductor or rod and measures the resistance to ground. By performing measurements on intact ground systems, the user also verifies the quality of the grounding connections and bonds. Resistance and continuity of grounding loops around pads and buildings may also be measured.
The Model 3731 also provides alarm and memory functions.

Ground resistance meter 3-electrode measurement on the 3151 gives greater precision !
Ground resistance measurement involves factors that are not encountered during ordinary resistance measurement, such as polarization of the earth, the influence of grounding current due to leak current and grounding voltage, and the influence of auxiliary grounding resistance. The 3151 is able to make more accurate measurements more safely under difficult conditions because it uses the alternating current potentiometer method to provide measurement accuracy, and because it contains features such as an auxiliary grounding resistance check feature and measurement frequency switching.

Earth Pressure Balance Machines (EPBM)
EPBMs are used for high powered pipe jacking with precise control of earth pressure via operator control of the cutterhead with pressure sensors, jacking speed, screw conveyor operation and foam and bentonite slurry additive system for conditioning of spoils. Akkerman manufactures EPBMs for installation of pipe in the 96"-168" OD range.

If the geology of your tunnel ranges from soft soils to weathered rock, then a Robbins Earth Pressure Balance Machine (EPBM) is the correct technical solution for your project. This is particularly true when your project is located in an urban environment and ground surface subsidence cannot be tolerated.
EPBMs are utilized in the construction of rail tunnels, metropolitan subway systems, highway tunnels, and other projects where the tunnel will be constructed either partly or completely in soft soil beneath the water table.
Robbins has integrated over 50 years of TBM design and jobsite experience into our EPBMs. Nobody has a wider range of experience designing innovative machinery to cope with difficult underground conditions. Our engineers will tailor your EPBM to handle the specific challenges of your project. From "Smooth Flow" cutterheads that reduce friction to super-reliable sealing systems and Variable Frequency Cutterhead Drives, Robbins has taken the traditional EPB design to the next level.

Earth pressure balance tunnel boring machines
Historically, EPBs were developed in order to do away with the mucking system and the reprocessing of boring slurry. To do this, the soil must ideally consist of fine elements (clay and silt) and natural water. This type of mix is rare, which is why foams were developed.
Basic principle
The earth pressure balance tunnel boring machine or EPB consists of a cutting chamber located behind the cutterhead. This chamber is used to mix the soil + water foam. It is maintained under pressure by the mucking system. The system consists of a screw conveyor whose speed is controlled so that constant pressure inside the chamber is guaranteed. The material exits the screw conveyor via a hatch that can be closed when the TBM is shut down. The material is then removed by a belt conveyor and/or train cars circulating in the tunnel.

Herrenknecht Earth Pressure Balance (EPB) Shields are in their element in soft ground. Cohesive and incohesive soils with high clay or silt content and low water permeability provide the ideal conditions for EPB tunnelling.

Earth Leakage Relays
TemProtect Earth Leakage Relays are used to monitor earth fault current with a view to protect electrical equipment and personnel against the dangers of such faults.
Owing to the wide range of applications for the use of earth leakage protection, TemProtect has been designed to be as flexible as possible. The range includes relays suitable for installations with DIN rail, Panel or Base Mounting. All relays are suitable for use on a.c. systems and will be unaffected by d.c. components which may be present.
A range of combined relay and toroidal current transformer is also readily available.
The relays filter circuit inputs to safeguard against external disturbances in the system and offer the additional advantage of integral Test and Reset buttons, as well as integral Indication of Power and Trip.
All the Earth Leakage Relays which have separate toroidal transformers constantly monitor the connection to the toroid and will trip should an open circuit occur. They also offer the choice of automatic, manual or remote resetting after a fault has occurred.
All the relays comply to international standards including IEC 255.
