Multifunctional use, uniform heating:
Contact heating of flat surfaces. We manufacture flat heating elements in several materials customised to your application.
SILICONE heater mats consist of heating wire or an etched heating foil, which is encapsulated and insulated between two silicone mats strengthened by textile glass fibers. They are suitable especially for applications requiring precise temperature and homogeneous heat distribution. Due to their low thermal mass they distinguish by quick response and an excellent controllability. Their low mass and small construction height make them interesting for many aerospace applications. Their resistance against moisture and humidity (IP 54 and higher) recommends them for laboratory equipment, catering appliances and frost or condensation protection especially of electronic components. The only restriction of this versatile heater: its max. continuous operating temperature of 200° C (up to 230° C for short periods).
Fitting for your application, silicone heater mats can be build in nearly every dimension and geometry with numerous extra-components, e. g. thermocouples, limiters and thermal fuses.
Especially for larger quantities we recommend to use heating mats with etched heating foil. In regard to forms, dimensions and complexity of heat distribution they are as variable as heaters with heating wire. Through shorter distances and larger surface of etched strip conductors they reach an even higher watt density and a more homogeneous heat distribution.

To complement our line of high-performance etched-foil heaters, Minco offers silicone rubber blanket heaters with wire-wound heating elements. The wire construction costs less in larger heaters and can reduce capacitative leakage current to meet medical apparatus design standards.
Available in standard and custom sizes to 12" x 70" (305 x 1780 mm), the new heaters have UL and Canadian UL component recognition to 250 V (600 V pending). Power ratings for standard size heaters range from 2.5 to 15 watts per square inch at 120 or 240 V.
One significant market for these heaters is anti-condensation in electric motors and generators. Minco stocks more than 40 sizes of strip heaters, along with stator RTD's and bearing sensors, to meet all the temperature monitoring and control needs of motor OEM's and repair shops.
Applications requiring high wattage, fast response, and greatest flexibility will continue to use etched-foil Thermofoil™ heaters, also stocked in a wide variety of sizes and insulation types.

Silicone heaters consist of two layers of silicone with an integrated fibreglass-mesh and heating wires laid out between the two layers. They are thermally and mechanically designed to withstand temperatures up to 200°C, without losing their shape. The silicone heater is vulcanized into a homogenous unit, ensuring the flexibility necessary to adapt to the mounting surface.

The SSM heater plate can be used for frost protection and as an anti-condensation heater. Its application ensures complete operational safety as the plates prevent malfunctions often due to leakage currents on electrical installations or the corrosion of metal components. Typical applications are switchgear and controlgear cabinets, instrument housings, analyser cases, glove boxes and other enclosures.
Structure
The heater plate consists of a thin, anodised aluminium baseplate, vulcanised with siliconeimpregnated glass-fibre mats with an embedded heating coil. A bimetallic switch integrated in the terminal block limits the surface temperature of the heater approx. +70 °C. An alternative version is available for adjusting the surface temperature from +30 °C up to +150 °C.
Features
* Space saving thanks to its flat structure
* Good and uniform heat distribution thanks to the uniplanar structure
* Random mounting position
* Excellent resistance to chemicals

SILICON HEATING PANELS - for complicated shapes and sizes
Silicon Heating Panels provide external heating to surfaces of any complex shape and size. Being totally water resistant they can be used both indoors and outdoors. They are used for removing moisture, dehumidification of motors & control devices, for battery heating in high-altitude aircrafts, gas turbines, medical equipment & food equipment. They can also be used in petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals & chemical industries
Construction
Silicon Heating Panels comprises of resistance wire-wound heating elements embedded in thin, lightweight fiber glass cloth - Silicon rubber composite substrates, forming a very flexible and high strength heating panel. For convenience of installation, pressure-sensitive adhesive backing are provided on one side of the heating panel. For minimum heat losses these should be backed by thermal insulation pads.

Taconic silicone coated fabrics exhibit very similar properties to fluorocarbon resin and PTFE coated fabrics.
Excellent Release properties up to 230°C
Silicone coated surfaces exhibit excellent release characteristics and will release adhesive and viscous materials which often adhere to a fluorocarbon resin.
Good Chemical Resistance
Silicone coated fabrics exhibit high resistance to attack from mild alkali, non-oxidising acids, most salts, mineral lubricating oil, air, moisture and sunlight.
Superior Abrasion Resistance and Flex
Silicone coated fabrics offer a tough coated surface with high abrasion and flex resistance. Silicone coated fabrics, however do not exhibit the low friction surfaces or self lubricating properties of fluorocarbon resins.
Super Dielectric Properties
Silicone coated fabrics are excellent electrical insulators in tough environments.
