Argon-Ion and Helium-Neon Laser Products
With more than 20 years of gas laser production, JDSU continues to be the world leader in air-cooled argon-ion and helium-neon gas laser production. A combination of proven design and world-class manufacturing result in reliable products that exceed demanding customer requirements. Argon-ion products include single-line and multiline models, with powers up to 75 mW; 458 to 515 nm. Helium-neon laser products are offered in tube and head versions, with output powers up to 22.5 mW; 633 nm.
|
|
|
The helium neon laser was the first laser to be used in volume applications. Currently, there are millions of HeNe lasers in the field, and only the semiconductor diode laser is produced in greater volume. The key to the HeNe's success has been its low cost, small size, long operating life (as much as 50,000 operating hours), and unsurpassed beam quality. HeNe lasers produce milliwatts of output power and are available in a variety of wavelengths ranging from 543 nm (green) to 1.523 ìm (infrared). The most common wavelength is the familiar 633 nm (red). These lasers are small, convection cooled, and can be operated from ordinary household power or even from batteries.
|
|
The CL-200 Series is the original line generating laser. These lasers generate a 5 milliwatt (633.3 nm) ruby red line to illuminate a variety of cutting applications.
Although the HeNe lasers were state of the art when they were introduced, they are now being replaced with the newer, less expensive, solid state diode technology. The diode lasers are much smaller and easier to install, therefore, the cost of a diode diode, in most cases, is less than what it would cost to repair a HeNe laser.

General description
High Vacuum Technology has been finding uses in increased number of industrial applications. Especially so, in the case of development of nuclear components which calls for a high degree of vacuum tightness and a reliable leak detection method which can detect minutest leak paths.
The technique adopted in this spectrometer and the selection of helium gas as the tracer, compliments each other. Helium is known for its nontoxic, non-hazardous, nondestructive, available plentiful, relatively inexpensive and its presence in the atmosphere is a negligible 5 ppm and has a low atmospheric partial pressure which enables helium to present a low background signal. These special characters enables helium to go through smallest leak paths without effecting parts or process and thus be able to leak detect easily, reliably and economically. The leak detectors can be used for testing and measuring vacuum integrity in products like: Automotive parts, Bellows, Beverage can and food containers, Pressurized fluids, Vacuum packed solids, Electronic Feedthroughs, Electron tubes, Glass to metal seals, Heat Exchangers, Hermetic seals, Medical devices, Nuclear components, Quartz crystal packages, Refrigeration parts, Relays, Semiconductor packages, Transducers, Vacuum Hardware, Vacuum switches and in Systems like Electronic microscopes, Evaporation coils, Freeze dryers, Ion implanters, Nuclear reactors, Vacuum evaporators and Vacuum furnaces.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY COMPRESSION OF GASES – A HAUG SPECIALITY
HAUG gas-compressors run absolutely oil-less with dry lubrication. The oil-less compression avoids any contamination of the process gas and the process machinery.
To obtain an absolutely hermetically gas-tight unit, HAUG gas compressors are equipped with a magnetic coupling. For this construction the permanent total gas leakage is less than 0.001 mbar l/s during operation as well as at standstill. In the case of helium at 3 bar pressure the gas loss is merely 5 grams per year! Contamination of the ambient environment through gas leakage with these compressors is practically impossible.

Helium, a scarce non-renewable gas, is used in the production of fiber-optic equipment and semiconductors. Other industrial uses of helium include optoelectronics, laser welding, cold gas spraying, chemical processing and leak detection.
Rising demand and declining reserves of Helium have led to dramatic increases in the helium price, intensifying the market for helium recovery systems. Helium recovery is used when the gas is required for, but not used up in an industrial process or system. In the production of optical fiber, the cooling rate and the quality of the product can be dramatically impacted if a less-than-effective helium recovery system is used.
With today's high helium prices, the XEBEC He-3200 makes compelling bottom line sense. This compact, economical system efficiently recovers high-purity helium from contaminated off-gas streams. Fully skid-mounted and configurable for a range of sizes and market applications, the He-3200 is easily installed in almost any setting, offering a quick payback and ongoing returns.
The XEBEC He-3200 is based on the company's H-3200 product platform, modified to remove impurities from Helium. The He-3200 combines patented rotary valve technology and conventional beaded adsorbents with an optimized PSA cycle to deliver higher
hydrogen recovery performance than conventional PSA systems. The XEBEC He-3200 requires only one-quarter of the space of conventional PSA and, with only two valves, is simpler to operate. The He-3200 provides a compact, economical solution for the recovery and recycling of helium in leak testing, metals deposition processes and fiber-optic and semiconductor manufacturing facilities.
