HMC HORIZONTAL SPINDLE
Haas horizontal machines have the capacity to cut alloy steels, stainless steels, cast iron and high-nickel alloys, yet also provide the speed necessary for aluminum alloys. With Haas’ built-in rotary tables and pallet changers, productivity doubles over vertical machining centers.
The Haas EC-1600 is a 50-taper machining center with 1626 x 1016 x 813 mm xyz travels, 1626 x 813 mm table and 6000-rpm, geared-head spindle. The standard T-slot table holds parts up to 10000 lb, and the spindle is powered by a 30-hp vector drive system. A 30-pocket side-mount tool changer is standard.
The Haas EC-400 has a host of high-productivity standard features. The EC-400 has a generous work cube of 508 x 508 x 508 mm, dual 400 mm pallets with 1000-lb load capacity, incremental (1degree) indexing, a large-volume coolant system and triple-auger chip removal. A side-mount tool changer and 1000-ipm rapids are also standard, and a wide range of options is available.
The Haas EC-500 has a larger work cube of 813 x 508 x 711 mm, dual 500 mm pallets with 1000-lb load capacity. A side-mount tool changer and 1000-ipm rapids are also standard, and a wide range of options is available to boost performance still further.
The EC 400 and the EC500 have inline, direct-drive spindle systems that couple the motor directly to the spindle, which means less vibration, heat and noise than belt- or gear-driven systems. This yields superior surface finishes, excellent thermal stability and quieter operation. Their standard 40-taper, 8000-rpm spindles are powered by 20-hp vector dual drive systems.

J3
4 Axis HMC
The common advantages of high performance centres for large production flexibility are very convincing: The space-saving machine structure which consists of ribbed Meehanite quality castings only requires a width of 1280 mm; the low overall weight and easy to assembly three-point bearing facilitate flexible integration and ensure reduced space costs.
Travel of 400 x 400 x 400 mm
(X-axis optional to 800 mm) with extreme axis acceleration up to 2 G ensure the shortest possible positioning times and guarantee, together with the high acceleration of 0.6 s of the main spindle, quick chip-to-chip times for best productivity when it comes to machining light alloy materials. At 16,000 min-1, the high-power spindle produces maximum dynamics and optimum performance.
The 16,000 min-1 of the high-power spindle produces large
chip volumes. The active spindle cooling for main spindles and ball screws assure effective temperature stability for constant machining processes.

Aε series
Compact automation
When used in medium and mass production, the A series can be automatically loaded and unloaded via handling systems.Hydraulic devices are directly coupled electrically. Tensioning pressure and tensioning position is monitored. Workpieces are supplied and carried away via system palettes.
For small and medium-sized production series, where there is a mixed production of parts, the Aå series can be equipped with a palette magazine. Extensive tool capacities can be provided by matrix magazines.
System technology
If used in medium-sized and mass production series, workpiece handling systems can be optimally used by combining several machines. The cell organisation is realised via controlling the handling system or via a higher-level cell control system.
For mixed productions of parts in a small and medium-sized production series, the connection of several machines is realised via a linear palette storage and transport system. Different system architectures can be configured for hardware and software.

a82M
The a82M Horizontal Machining Center is designed for machining tough and hard materials. It is ideally suited for large diameter boring and face milling on such materials as stainless steel, titanium alloys , ductile iron, cast iron and CGI. The unique, high-torque and high thrust performance provides unparalleled productivity and reliability for a machine of this type.
The integral drive, high torque spindle (740 lb. ft.) provides many advantages over the traditional gear-head design. Elimination of gears and shafts allows greater efficiency transferring horsepower and torque to the cutting tool. The low inertia spindle design slashes cycle times due to fast spindle acceleration for drill and tap operations. The a82M is the ideal machine across multiple industries where high torque and high rigidity are essential to the manufacturing application - all built upon the most reliable horizontal machining platform in the industry. OPTIONAL 5-AXIS ROTARY TABLE: This 5XR option is ideal for manufacturing applications that require maximum throughput and reliability. This versatile 5XR control specification is currently available on all Makino a1-Series machines. It can help any sized operation concentrate machining processes for multi-face jobs, intricately shaped parts and for machining the cutter body.
