For measurement of the water content in solid and pasty samples, the Sartorius Water Detection System 400 is the ideal alternative to classic Karl-Fisher titration. The WDS 400 combines three reference methods – oven drying, coulometry (Karl-Fisher titration) and phosphorous pentoxide into a highly accurate measurement technique. Yet the WDS 400 is also easy to operate without having to have special training and eliminates the need for working with detection reagents, many of which are toxic and expensive.
• Detects water quantities in the trace range
• Selective differentiation among surface and capillary water and water of crystallization
• Operating range from a few ppm to approx. 40% moisture
• 1 µg detection limit
• ± 2% reproducibility of the absolute water content |

The MS-70, MX-50, MF-50 and the ML-50 are moisture analyzers that utilize the heating and drying method, which compares the weight of a sample before and after heating and drying. Compared with Karl Fischer analyzers, the MS/MX/MF/ML analyzers are much easier to operate and require a shorter time for measurements. At the same time, they maintain very high repeatability thanks to the incorporation of A&D¡'s Super Hybrid Sensor (SHS) as the weighing sensor.
The Windows Communication Tools, WinCT-Moisture, is provided as standard for the MS and MX (optional for MF and ML). With the RsFig, the MS/MX/MF/ML can display a graph on a PC showing changes in the moisture rate while performing measurements. Moreover, with RsTemp, it is possible to determine the most suitable heating conditions for a given sample in a very short time. Specifically, RsTemp automatically changes the heat applied based on set increments and interval times within a range of 30°C-200°C. Given changes in the moisture rate over time, it can determine the most suitable heating temperature.
Another unique feature is that the MS/MX/MF/ML come standard with Sodium Tartrate Dihydrate. Sodium Tartrate Dihydrate is a chemical material that has a stable moisture content of approx. 15.66%, and is therefore ideal to check for accuracy in order to maintain the reference value of the analyzer.
The moisture content resolution of the MS, MX, MF and the ML is 0.001%, 0.01%, 0.05% and 0.1% respectively. The MS-70 is the leading model and is capable of measurements as precise as those done by a Karl Fischer moisture analyzer.
Please see the Users Handbook for the MS/MX/MF/ML for further details. |

| The rugged Thermo Scientific MOLA is a state-of-the-art moisture on-line analyzer which uses patented neutron backscatter pulse mode ion chamber technology to non-intrusively measure the concentration of hydrogenous material in a process vessel. In iron and steel making, the MOLA is used to improve the operation of the blast furnace by accurately measuring the moisture content in metallurgical grade coke and/or iron ore pellets. The ion chamber in the MOLA acts as a hydrogen molecule detector and, based on the amount of hydrogen present, can determine the moisture in coke. Pulse mode technology allows for excellent stability and repeatability over a very wide temperature range without the need for high voltages or temperature stabilization of the circuitry. It has proven to help steel mills more effectively manage variability in coke size, harsh environmental conditions at the point of measurement and high coke volume. The MOLA is easy to install with no component exceeding 45 pounds. It also features a streamlined design that allows for rapid diagnostics and servicing of the unit. |

Utilizing an Aluminum Oxide sensor 600 times more sensitive than conventional sensors
The 8800 series uses field proven aluminum oxide (Al2O3) sensing technology to accurately detect trace moisture on either a continuous or spot checking basis.
All Al2O3 sensors share the same basic operating principle: the capacitance measured between the sensor's aluminum core and gold film deposited on the oxide layer varies with the water content. However, the Series 8800 moisture sensor employs unique Hyper Thin Film (HTF) technology, which offers three major structural improvements in Al2O3 sensor design.
Versatile Design Options
The Series 8800 Single Point Trace Moisture Analyzers are provided in four compact, reliable designs with the ability to detect moisture from -100°C to ambient dewpoint levels of +20°C on either a continuous or spot checking basis.
- 8800A – Flush Mount DIN enclosure with connections made via a pluggable screw terminal block
- 8800B – Wall Mount N4X (IP65) enclosure with connections made 3 bottom watertight fittings
