Pressure Filters
Designed for use as full-flow or partial flow filters and for the low pressure range up to 25/60 bar, medium pressure up to 210 bar and high pressure up to 450 bar, MAHLE pressure filters are ideal for application as main-line filters, flangemounted filters and filters in intermediate plate design. Rugged casings, streamlined design and an extensive range of accessories provide the optimal solution capable of meeting every market requirement

Duplex pressure filters with change-over valve type EHD are suitable for a working pressure up to 315 bar.
The pressure peaks are absorbed by a sufficient margin of safety. Duplex filters can be serviced without interruption of operation.
The upper part has a three-way-change-over valve which allows to change-over the flow from the dirty filter-side to the clean filterside
without interrupting the operation. The change-over procedure does not lead to a cross sectional contraction. Prior to the
change-over procedure a built-in pressure balance valve equalizes the housing pressure. After change-over the pressure balance
valve has to to be closed again. The closed filter-side has to be air-bled by vent III respectively by vent IV. Then change filter
element. After screw in the filter bowl the pressure balance has to be opened shortly and the just serviced filter-side has to be airbled.
Filter elements are available down to a filter fineness of 4 µm(c). INTERNORMEN-Filter elements are known as elements with a high
intrinsic stability and an excellent filtration capability, a high dirt-retaining capacity and a long service life.
INTERNORMEN-Filter are suitable for all petroleum based fluids, HW-emulsions, most synthetic hydraulic fluids and lubrication oils.
INTERNORMEN-Filter elements are available with a pressure difference resistance up to Delta-p 160 bar and a rupture strength up to
Delta-p 250 bar.

We have named PUMP CARE the Suction Filters because thanks to their function of protection from coarse contamination (due to lack of initiai cleaning or to an accidental ingression) they take care of the pump, ensuring a safe and efficient operation.
|

The filters of the series TNRS are tank-top mounted in-line filters. In addition to the return-line connection they have a suction
connection on the clean-side. This suction connection has a preload pressure (fitting pressure) of >= 0,5 bar.
This combination, return-line and suction filter, is foreseen for hydraulic circuits which are equiped with minimum 2 feed pumps (2
hydraulic circuits). The preload suction connection is for the full volume flow filtration for the pump with the smaller volume flow.
The operating status in general wherein the preload pressure and the full stream filtration are effecting the QR (return-line flow) > QS
(suction flow). When the operating status is QR = QS no preload pressure is effective.
During the operating status QR < QS the suction valve is effective operates at the connection T2, what makes a feeding out of the
receptable possible without preload pressure and without filter efficiency.
Return-line filters in the TNRS series are suitable for a working pressure up to 10 bar. Pressure peaks will be absorbed by a sufficient
margin of safety.
The filter element according to DIN 24550, T4 consists of a star-shaped, pleated filter material which is supported on the inside by a
perforated core tube and is bonded to the end caps with a high-quality adhesive. The flow is from outside to inside. Filter finer than
40 µm should use throw-away elements made of paper or Interpor fleece (glass fibre). Filter elements as fine as 5 µm(c) are available;
finer filter elements on request.

Installed upstream of the pump or accessible from the outside in a particularly service-friendly configuration with a contamination indicator integrated in the suction line, suction filters protect the pump from large-particle contamination. A selection of elements adapted for use with the system protect installations and pumps in the range from 10 - 25 µm with our micro-quality products, or in the coarse particle range using easy-to-clean wire gauze.

The Vokes Filter Coalescer is a static device for the removal of solids and free water from Distillate and Light Liquid Fuels and Mineral Lubricating Oils.
The cartridge combines a long life depth type pre-filter media designed to give extended life by the removal of pipe scale, rust, waxes and asphaltenes that would otherwise cause the coalescent media to blind.
The pre-filter, together with the first and second stage coalescing medias effectively combine small droplets of water into large droplets which are then separated from the oil flow by gravity.
A final stripper screen is fitted to further minimise any risk of carry over of small droplets into the clean oil discharge.
The purified oil is discharged at the top of the housing, while the water is drained from the bottom.
Principal of Operation
The small droplets of water are intercepted by fibres and because of the hydrophilic nature of the fibres, are retained. As the number of droplets collected increases they join together to form a layer of water.
The flow of the oil then pushes this water through the media to the outside where it forms large droplets on the sock surrounding the cartridge.
These droplets then grow until they reach a size which causes them to fall off and drop to the bottom of the housing through gravity.

Return-line filters retain all the contamination created within the equipment and flushed out of the hydraulic circuit, thus preventing contamination entering the circuit via the tank and pump, with all its negative implications.

Suction Filters
Suction filters are used as safety filters to protect pumps from gross contamination which can cause them to grip.
They are available in 3 styles :
* STR series immersed filters
* FAS external filters, for mounting externally above the oil level
* SF2 external filters, for mounting semi-immersed under the oil level
SF2 semi-immersed filters, which shut off oil flow while the filter element is being replaced, replace the butterfly valves usually used for servicing hydraulic pumps.

Application area
Ventilation of tanks for hydraulic and lubrication systems, and gearboxes.
General
The oil levels in the tanks of hydraulic systems are subject to continuous
variation due to temperature changes and the operation of cylinders and
pressure vessels.
In order to prevent over pressure in the tanks, an exchange of air with
the external atmosphere is necessary. By the use of a ventilating filter, the
outside air that is drawn in is filtered and the ingress of dust is therefore
prevented.
Special features
The ventilation openings are designed so that dust on the surface of the
tank is not drawn in, and that the ingress of spray and rainwater is largely
prevented.
The use in marine applications presents no problem due to the use of
synthetic materials and stainless steel.
Design
Flow direction bi-directional (air IN/OUT). The star-shaped pleating of the filter material results in:

Air breather filters allow for the flow of clean air to and from a closed chamber where balanced atmospheric pressure is required, such as in gear boxes, bearings operating at high speed and hydraulic power packs.
Filton air breather filters ensure that there is no dangerous build up of pressure or vacuum due to temperature or volume changes. The high quality sintered element prevents the ingress of air borne foreign particles.

When the reservoir breathers, air containing water vapor is ingested into the system. Temperature fluctuations will cause the
water vapor to condense. This condensed Water will speed up the oxidation of the oil and lead to damage in the machine. The
Catalytic action of metal particles present in the contamination process speeds up Both these processes. The air conditioner
first dries the air as it passes through the Silica gel granules and the dry air passes through a 3 micron rated synthetic Media
element to remove any solid contamination particles.
The expelled air reaches the atmosphere via the same route but in the opposite direction.
Air Driver - As moistore is absorbed, the silica gel granules will gradually change color from a deep red to beige.
When the granules are beige, replace the silica gel.
Direct mount onto the reservoir or use an adaptor plate which fits the standard 6-bolt pattern for filler breathers.
Remove protective coverning from silica gel inlet holes before installation.
