The brake system onboard a vehicle is vital for the safety of the vehicle. It is therefore important that the design of the vehicle and the design of the brake system are co-ordinated to give the optimal safety and good performance and that complements other modern cab ergonomics to reduce operator fatigue and give good machine feel.
The valves may be used in open centre, closed centre and load sense hydraulic systems.
The high flow capability of the valve permit use with wet brakes, which typically require more flow for actuation.
Reduced mechanical drag and power loss by allowing the wet brake discs to be further apart when not applied.
A wide range of actuating forces can be specified, including stagemodulating springs for more progressive feel.
A floor-mounted pedal is available in a range of pre-set angles, with optional heel plates.
The valve may be mounted vertically or horizontally beneath the pedal. |

These directional seated valves use spring loaded balls as valve elements and therefore do not show any leakage. They are manifold mounting and are available with various actuations which always act on an angled lever pushing the valve element in the desired switching position.
The basic versions are designed as 2/2- and 3/2-way directional valves. 3/3- , 4/3-way functions are possible, if two valves are housed in one valve body, whereas 4/2-way functions require an additional intermediate plate. The enforced versions G39, G49, G..-22 are intended for pulsating, permanent load with frequent switching operations in the high pressure range.
These valves may be directly installed in pipe systems, when equipped with subplates enabling pipe connection. Many optional functions can be incorporated in these sub-plates e.g. pressure limiting valve or restrictor check valve for widen the field of application for this valve type. Valve banks of these valves are also available featuring several valves
connected in parallel (see type VB).

Application – Single-acting cylinders. Actuation – Lever operated, detent positioned.
Functions – Pos. 1 – Oil is directed from pump to cylinder and “holds” with pump shut off; line to reservoir is blocked. Pos. 2 – All oil is open to reservoir through tank line.
Center pos. – Cylinder pressure is held; pump should be shut off.

The poppets which are situated in the cartridge are pressed on the valve seat via springs or are opened via tappets. Hardened poppets and valve seats ensure long life. Pressure compensated poppets reduce the operating power. |

Precise bore honing and spool grinding results in less cross-port leakage and less wasted energy. These precision valves also allow for interchangeable spools for easy field maintenance and eliminate the need to change valve body when changing spools.
Spools utilize U-groove machining making them more tolerant of contaminants than v-groove designs resulting in less spool hang-ups. Bolt heads are below the spool centerline to reduce the body distortion that can lead to sticking spools and loss of production.

Modular stack valves are designed to install between the valve and its mounting surface. This will eliminate plumbing connections and space requirements. Continental Hydraulics has a full range including check, flow control, relief, reducing, sequencing, shuttle and counterbalance valves. Manufactured to fit the NFPA's and ANSI/ISO's standards.
Bodies are manufactured of either aluminum (3000 PSI) or ductile (5000 PSI) to meet your pressure requirements. Our bodies use industry common cavities. All cartridges are 100% tested functionally.
