General description
LAB PURITY KIT The Lab Purity Kit (KT-1000-0034) provides users of HOGEN® GC and S Series hydrogen generators the means to assure high hydrogen quality (dewpoint) and an uninterrupted supply for their critical process.
The Lab Purity Kit is a panel-mounted assembly comprised of a user connection manifold, pressure reducing regulator, gas-monitoring dewpoint sensor, backup desiccant bed column, gas filter, controls, alarm relay, and a three-way gas diverter valve.
How it Works:
The lab purity kit is installed upstream of the user's process. If the dewpoint monitor senses moisture in the hydrogen in excess of the control set point, a three-way valve diverts the gas to the user's hydrogen vent system. As an extra measure, a desiccant column captures any trace moisture before it reaches the end user. If desired, the user may connect a backup hydrogen supply to a port provided on the kit. This provides uninterrupted hydrogen flow in the event of any hydrogen generator purity or operational upset.

Hydrogen Coolant Purifiers - HCP
The HCP is a self-contained system that dries and purifies the hydrogen gas that is used as a coolant in electrical power plant generators. It removes water, oil and other contaminants that cause corrosion and cracking in retaining and zone rings, lead carbonate formation, increased windage losses and other potentially catastrophic consequences.
Legendary Select Series or Century Series control valves feature stainless steel internal parts designed specifically for desiccant dryer service and tested to 500,000 cycles, bubble-tight.
Switching valves and gas-tight blower are vented to prevent formation of dangerous air-hydrogen mixtures.
Welded stainless steel piping minimizes threaded connections, reducing potential leaks.
Complete instrumentation monitors the system for operation outside of specifications.
Potted conduit seals isolate electrical controls from hydrogen.
High temperature heater shutdown prevents excessive operating temperature.
Pre-installed PPC Series pleated particulate filters protect downstream equipment.

GRASYS suggests membrane and adsorption hydrogen gas generators.
Membrane hydrogen generators
GRASYS hydrogen generators based on the membrane gas separation principle allow concentrating hydrogen in waste, residual, fuel and other gases up to 99.5% with the output capacity of 50,0000 nm³/hr.
Hydrogen generators based on the membrane separation methodcontain no wearing assemblies and for this reason, require practically no maintenance. Membrane hydrogen plants may be operated by personnel without special training: maintenance and control of all working parameters are effected with electronic means. The operating life of hydrogen membranes is 80 to 180 thousand hours of continuous operation.
Hydrogen purity — up to 99.5%, capacity — up to 50,000 nm³/hr
Adsorption hydrogen gas generators
GRASYS adsorption generators operating on the basis of the most recent fast-cycle pressure swing adsorption technology are designed for high-purity hydrogen production from gas streams. The fast-cycle PSA plants are capable of generating hydrogen with the purity of as high as 99.9995% and the minimum pressure drop during the separation process.
The fast-cycle PSA generators integrate two novelties: the rotary system with only two valves and the new-generation structured adsorbent resistant to fluidization.
This helps increase cycle speed by up to 100 times as compared with conventional PSA plants. This is why the weight and dimensions of fast-cycle PSA plants are by the order of magnitude less than those of conventional PSA plants.
Hydrogen purity — up to 99.9995%, capacity — up to 10,000 nm³/hr

HGH-300 and HGH-500 Hydrogen Generator
HGH-300 and HGH-500 high purity hydrogen generators are based on the technology of astronautic fuel cells, in which hydrogen is produced by the electrolysis of water, and the produced oxygen is released to the atmosphere. The generator consists of electrolyzing/separating pool, power supply, pressure control, desiccation& purification, flow display, etc. The core part -- electrolyzing & separating pool, uses a tube shaped positive pole and a plate shaped negative pole. Both poles are made of stainless steel. The electrolyzing & separating pools can store electrolyte, produce hydrogen as well as release hydrogen at the same time.
The HGH series hydrogen generators have the advantages of large electrolyzing area, low temperature of the pool, better performance, high productability and high purity of hydrogen. The instrument has specially designed to prevent liquid from backflowing

For fuel cell applications, pure hydrogen generators are not a very good solution as they are bulky, heavy and expensive. Fortunately a fuel cell can run very good on a hydrogen rich stream rather then pure hydrogen. Therefore a fuel processor consisting of a reforming reactor in combination with a shift and prox are a more favorable solution. Also the low storage density of hydrogen or the lack of sufficient hydrogen infrastructure can be a driving force to choose for a more compact on-board fuel processor. Moreover on-board reforming gives a choice to use several (green) fuels, such as methanol, ethanol, biodiesel and DME. In certain stationary fuel cell applications similar needs for on-board reforming exist.
OEM's who need to adapt their products to the new technology of fuel cells are often not well experienced in fuel cell and reforming technologies. HyGear with its extensive experience in reforming technologies and fuel cell system integration can be a partner in developing the required solutions.
