ApplicationsThese devices measure the level of liquids in open containers. They also are employed to measure the level of open bodies of water and that of liquids in bore holes.
TechnologiesThe pressure exerted by a liquid is proportional to the height of the column. These sensors measure this pressure and transmit the value to a digital display module, which indicates the level of the liquid as a function of its density. For example, the density of water is 998 kilograms per cubic meter at 20° C.
How to chooseChoice will depend primarily on the nature of the liquid whose level is to be measured. Another factor is the maximum range of pressure values, which is determined by the height of the column of liquid and its temperature. Output signal characteristics, explosion risk and other operational conditions also should be taken into account.
