The IM-300 is a 64-point general I/O module with built-in wire-entry screw terminals and LEDs that extends the I/O capabilities of a Soft Servo system. It requires a VersioBus adapter board to connect to a VersioBus I/O network. Up to four IM-300s can be daisy-chained together for distributed control and multiple nodes with VersioBus fiber optics, to provide as many as 256 additional I/O points.

|
The DeviceNet protocol dramatically reduces costs by integrating up to 62 devices on a 4-wire trunk network. Communications data is carried over two wires with a second pair of wires carrying power. Discrete and analog devices may be connected into the DeviceNet protocol.

Foundation Fieldbus H1 level has been designed as a digital replacement of the 4 to 20mA standard in the process industries. Foundation Fieldbus is also a LAN (Local Area Network) for instruments used in both process and manufacturing automation with built-in capability to distribute the control application across the network. The physical wiring is also fully compatible with intrinsic safety (IS) or nonincendive wiring standards and may be used in hazardous, as well as general purpose areas. In hazardous areas standard explosion-proofing or power limited concepts may be used, as well as IS concepts, offering greater cabling design flexibility.

|
|
AS-Interface networks up to 62 field devices onto a single pair of wires that delivers both signal and power. Actuator Sensor Interface, or AS-Interface, was developed by a group of sensor manufacturers and introduced into the market in 1994. Since that time, it has become the de facto standard for discrete sensors in process industries throughout the world. AS-Interface may be used in hazardous process environments using explosion proof, tray cable, nonincendive and for nonincendive wiring protection concepts.

The increasing level of automation in machines and systems and the consequent rise in the number of I/O devices have in turn increased the amount of wiring required. Decentralised I/O systems bring order to this chaos. Lenze offers two product concepts with IP 20 degree of protection which are suited to both simpler digital applications and more complex automation tasks.
Compact system
The compact version is available in 8, 16 and 32-channel modules with up to 24 inputs and 8 outputs, using single or three-wire technology.

Modular system
The modular version consists of three components: a gateway, electronic modules and a backplane bus. Up to 32 elements can be combined as desired.

The TG-540 is a full featured motion and I/O module that provides velocity and position trajectory commands to digital servo and stepper drives. It offers the benefits of scalability (one axis at a time), easy distribution, flexibility to select the optimal motor and I/O technology in any combination without software ramification, and ultra-smooth double-jerk-limited move profiles.
The TG-540 sends digital trajectories instead of analog torque commands to provide superior noise immunity and allow OEMs to capitalize on modern drive technology. The TG-540 is extensible per axis, so you won't waste money on unused axes or risk running out of axes if design requirements change. Each TG-540 has a DSP on each device, so performance will not degrade as the number of axes increase. And perhaps most importantly for OEMs who desire a broad range of options, the TG-540 does not require an interface protocol. It natively interfaces to virtually any digital drive or I/O device from any manufacturer, so OEMs are not limited by the availability of components with dedicated protocols.
The TG-540 is compatible with ControlPoint - Teknic's distributed, open-architecture machine control system. ControlPoint offers OEM machine designers a wide array of control components to allow interconnectivity to nearly any digital or analog sensor, stepper, digital servo, brushless servomotor, and other machine control devices.

S800 I/O is a comprehensive, distributed and modular process I/O system that communicates with parent controllers over industry-standard field buses. Thanks to its broad connectivity it fits a wide range of process controllers from ABB and others.
By permitting installation in the field, close to sensors and actuators, S800 I/O reduces the installation cost by reducing the cost of cabling. And thanks to features such as "hot swap" of modules, "on-line" reconfiguration and redundancy options, it contributes to keeping production -- and thereby profits up.
S800 I/O features include:
- Comprehensive coverage
- Flexible configuration and installation
- Ease of set up
- Reliability and accuracy

S100 I/O consists of one or more I/O racks with several I/O boards, connection units and cables covering a wide variety of applications and specific needs. The I/O boards are divided into groups, depending on their function. Within each group, there are several I/O boards with differing functionality and complexity.
The Advant Controller 410 includes an integral S100 I/O rack, while the Advant Controller 450 interfaces up to five S100 I/O sub-racks through a single or redundant interface module and cables. Optical modems enable remote location of S100 I/O sub-racks.

Wireless Remote I/O - Cable Replacement
Banner introduced a new product line called SureCross Wireless I/O.
The DX70 is point to point architecture based on a pair of emitter/receiver. Digital or analogue I/Os are directly linked based on the internal terminal chamber identification. Unlimited pairs can work together in the same area without any interference.
The DX80 is a point to multipoint with up to 56 Nodes linked to one Gateway. The possible high number of I/Os can be transferred to supervision by communication with Modbus RTU (RS485), EtherNet/IP or Modbus TCP. Some Nodes can be powered by 24 Vdc, battery box or solar panel with rechargeable battery. Special DX99 Nodes come with ATEX certification Zone 0 for gas.
The DataRadio DX80DR2M is used mainly for serial (RS232 or RS485) cable replacement. This can be configured with one master and numerous slaves.
SureCross products fit with many different types of Industries (Factory and Process Automation, Water Treatment...). The high performance, reliability and low cost of this product makes it a natural solution for renovation/revamping of existing installations.

SIMATIC Factory Safety
I/O
The safety modules of ET 200M, ET 200S, ET 200pro (IP67) and/or the digital block peripheral device ET 200eco (IP67) are used for the distributed expansion of safety controllers. In a centralized configuration, the S7-300F CPU can be expanded with safety modules of ET 200M.
All safety modules can diagnose internal and external faults and are internally redundant. They have their own self-tests and fulfill the obtaining safety requirements. In addition, "safety" and "non safety" I/O modules can be combined in an ET 200M/ET 200S/ ET 200pro station. Both the safety and the standard I/O modules are interfaced via a fieldbus system, i.e. PROFIBUS with PROFIsafe profile.
The safety modules of ET 200S and ET 200pro can also be connected to a PROFINET network via PROFINET interface modules.
The safety SIMATIC I/Os meet the highest safety requirements:
IEC 61508, IEC 61511 and EN 62061 (up to SIL 3)
EN 954-1 (up to Category 4)
NFPA 79 - 2002 and NFPA 85
UL1998, UL 508, UL 991
TÜV certificate no: Z10 05 08 20411 002

RIO – (Remote Input Output) is a compact modular system of remote I/Omodules available from OSAI for the management and control, through a field bus, of inputs and outputs distributed throughout the plant.
The modular structure of each RIO block guarantees a high degree of flexibility to reduce installation and maintenance costs. In the event of a malfunction, the electronic section of any block can easily be replaced without having to disconnect cables. The status of each input and output on every block is displayed with a LED indicator. External cables are easily connented by inserting wires into simple contact blocks thus avoiding the inconvenience and uncertainty associated with traditional screw terminals.
All units use a simple “snap on” connection to the DIN support rail connected to the bus coupler so that a series of RIO blocks (digital, analogue and intelligent), can be installed in a variety of combinations.
RIO bus coupler : is an interface unit that connects the RIO blocks to the bus. It manages up to 8 modules.
