| Vision components introduces the VCProfessional family, a current developed series of intelligent industrial cameras suited even for highly demanding applications. The compact devices are freely programmable stand-alone image processing systems which can be integrated into almost any industrial facility. As all image recognition and processing functions are provided by the camera, no auxiliary Professional pcs are necessary. The new Smart camera models are based on the tried and tested VC standard series and come equipped with technical enhancements: they feature both an RS232 and an Ethernet interface as well as high-performance Texas Instruments processors (400 MHz, 3,200 MIPS). With 32 MB RAM and 4 MB flash EPROM, the cameras have twice the memory capacity of their predecessor models. Additional storage memory is provided by a 128 MB SD card. Proven features, such as the cameras' VGA monitor output or their four digital inputs and outputs remain unchanged. Thanks to the real time operating system VCRT, the devices are able to multitask. Furthermore, they have a high speed trigger input that enables jitter-free image recording even at very high reading frequencies. Six different VCProfessional Smart Camera models are now on the market. Resistant to vibrations and shocks, all VC cameras are suitable for use in rugged industrial environments. |
|
| The highly compact Smart Professional cameras VCBase are also available as color cameras. Just like the black-and-white models, they feature high-performance Texas Instruments DSPs with a clock rate of 400 MHz and a professional computing power of 3,200 MIPS. At 1024 x 768 and 640 x 480 pixels respectively, the VCBase family offer a frame rate of 16 or 32 fps. Both models come equipped with 32 MB DRAM and 4 MB Flash EPROM for program and data storage. With four PLC inputs and four outputs as well as a RS232 and an Ethernet interface, they can be easily integrated into any existing automation environment. Like all Smart Cameras from Vision Components, the VCBase are designed for rugged industrial environments – due to their robust industrial housing, they resist vibration and shocks. |

| Vision Components presents the VCOptimum Smart Industrial cameras family. Due to its improved specifications, the current series is suitable even for highly demanding applications. Incorporating the latest Texas Instruments PROFESSIONAL DSP generation (1 GHz, 8,000 MIPS), the VCOptimum models are among the fastest intelligent cameras on the market. In spite of their small size, their performance compares favorably with the current PC generation. Depending on the model, the VCOptimum series offers a maximum resolution of 2 megapixels and maximum frame rates of 242 fps (484 fps in binning mode). The Smart Cameras feature an RS232 and an Ethernet interface as well as an external trigger input that also serves as an incremental encoder input. The basic versions come equipped with 64 MB of internal RAM, which can be optionally extended to 128 MB. The cameras are freely programmable stand-alone image processing systems which can be integrated into almost any industrial facility, thereby rendering auxiliary PC stations unnecessary. Just like their predecessor models, the new high-performance Smart Cameras have a direct video output, four digital SPS inputs and four digital outputs. All VC cameras are suitable for use in rugged industrial environments. Seven different VCOptimum Smart Camera models are now on the market. |

A 3D smart industrial camera for stand-alone solutions in factory automation
Every day SICK sensor solutions simplify production for thousands of companies around the globe. Our 3D smart camera, the IVC-3D, brings a new dimension to sensor intelligence and to flexible automation solutions.
The real world has three dimensions! Using traditional 2D camera solutions will always be a compromise when height matters to you. IVC-3D is the first smart camera in the world that inspects all three dimensions, giving you unsurpassed inspection results and robustness.
Application examples:
Inspection and volume measurement of bread in bakeries
Misshaped bread will be rejected automatically to increase quality and reduce problems in the packaging station. The volume measurement can be used for on-line adjustments of the process parameters.
Inspection of brake plates in automotive industry
Three features are inspected on the brake plate: the surface, height position of the plug, and the angle of the metallic spring. All are 3D features and are inspected simultaneously.

Alta Features
The Alta Design Team worked hard over a two year period to bring this advanced degree of integration and performance to our valued customers. Alta set new standards for imaging performance, connectivity, cooling, compactness, cost effectiveness, and the elimination of external support electronics.
Like the AP and KX series, Alta is a platform, not a CCD or specific interface type. It is designed for a variety of CCDs, ranging from the smallest to those measuring 36mm on a side with 4096 x 4096 arrays.
The Alta platform comes in 3 optical apertures. The D1 systems contain the small-mid size CCDs and maintain C-mount back focal distance. The D2 systems contain larger CCDs up to 28mm on a side. Our D7 systems accommodate very large CCDs such as the Kodak KAF-16801E, KAF-16803, and KAF-09000 sensors. Our newest addition, the D9s, provide the same aperture for these very large CCDs, but provide deeper cooling. |

| The sensitivity of the new 12 Bit b/w-industrial camera CF 8 HS is extremely high. A high sensitive sensor in combination with intelligent low-noise circuits raise the sensitivity by 400 %. The Low Light Level Camera is predestined for the observation of objects, rooms and scenes with very low or no illumination such as: Sophisticated PROFESSIONAL CCTV setups, long-range observation tasks and low light applications with short exposures. An automatic iris control allows 24 h operation at any lighting condition in daytime and at night. The Kappa-DRE (Dynamic Range Enhancement) assures clear view in low contrast conditions like fog, fume or rain. The CF 8 HS of Kappa avoids blurring of moving objects and noise even in typical low-light level applications. Because of its low weight, small size and rugged design it fits inconspicuously into a variety of systems. Additional features are: variable operation voltage (9-36 V), low power consumption, professional remote control of parameters by RS 232 (e.g. configurable back light compensation, AIT, AGC, Gamma, horizontal image flip and selectable display windows). |

| Measuring 44x44x56mm, these compact professional cameras offer the same performance as our enhanced USB 2.0 camera line, delivering outstanding image quality and value. Features include new locking industrial mini USB and RJ45 GPI/O industrial connector, multiple mounting points, 60 fps at full 640x480 resolution, 100+ fps at 320x240 binning mode, and on-board processing and sensitivity provide outstanding image quality. Both color and monochrome product models are fully supported by the Lumenera Professional software Developer’s Kit with an application programming interface compatible with C++ and Visual Basic. |
|
Back in 1992, Kappa was one of the first camera manufacturers to offer cooled professional cameras and today it maintains this tradition with its latest generation of Peltier-cooled sensors. The major difference between back then and today is that nowadays thermo-electrical systems have replaced coolants as a means of generating the desired differences in temperature.
The cooling element allows for sensor temperatures of -10 °C at ambient temperatures of up to +30°C, thus enabling exposure times of several minutes while maintaining good dynamic performance. In fluorescent microscopy applications this helps to visualize structures which would be almost invisible even to the well-adapted eye.
In addition to thermal noise, readout noise and electronic noise also have a negative impact on signal quality. To help reduce readout noise Kappa cameras can be read out with a reduced clock rate. Electronic noise is kept at bay by using high-quality components and employing sophisticated circuitry. However, as a general rule, in order to reduce the negative influence of noise it is advisable to keep electronic enhancement at a minimum. Kappa cooled cameras are also available as signature versions. |
