Small, flexible and innovative:
The new Baumer Gigabit Ethernet cameras of the TX series
With the new Gigabit Ethernet cameras of the TXG series, Baumer has set a milestone which will determine further developments in this field. With data transfer rates of up to 1000 Mbit/sec and cable length of up to 100 meters, GigE surpasses previous technologies such as FireWire and USB. These newly presented cameras are suitable for use in the most diverse environments. The range of functions, the remarkably small and rugged design as well as low power consumption make this camera series suitable for most industrial applications. With the new TXG series 13 Gigabit Ethernet camera models with resolutions from VGA to 5 megapixel in monochrome and color versions are available to the user. Naturally, all TXG cameras convince with the excellent Baumer image quality. These cameras with their conformity to GigE Vision, are 'plug and play' with the supplied driver software as well as with established image processing solutions. The newly-developed generic programming interface Baumer-GAPI, bridges the gap to individual software packages. With this interface, all Baumer FireWire and Gigabit Ethernet cameras can be controlled on one PC, using the same software, regardless of interface.

1.4 megapixel digital camera with 30 full frames
The new Baumer TXG14-fast digital camera is built for speed and supplies up to 30 full frames per second. This 1.4 megapixel Gigabit Ethernet camera was specially designed for fast processes that also require high resolution. Typical applications are in the packaging industry, for handling systems such as pick-and-place robots and in measuring technology.
Fast processes demand short and constant processing times within the camera. The TXG14-fast has a very short delay time between the trigger and the beginning of the flash and a fine setting of the exposure time in microsecond steps. These properties provide uniform brightness which is necessary for gray-scale analysis. With this new camera, Baumer fulfills the high quality demands of fast processes.
The camera has been tested according to the EMVA 1288 standard and has UL certification for the US market. It supports the GigE Vision and GenCam standards. All Baumer cameras can be simply integrated into an image processing software by means of the generic programming interface Baumer-GAPI - available for Windows and Linux.

OEM Solutions
When it comes to integrating vision or optical measurement capabilities into one's original equipment, picking separate components on the sole consideration of their state-of-the-art specifications doesn't make it right every time. When it makes it. What is of utmost importance, rather, is the supplier's skills in sorting out the very requirements that govern the final system performance and customizing the right solution for the right cost.
We specializes in supplying industry OEMs with specific solutions that exactly meet their exact vision or optical application requirements.
Here is another example of customization and application-specific solution: a complete (image capture and analysis) analytical imaging sub-assembly used in an automated microbiological control equipment for the food industry.

GigE Vision is a new camera interface standard developed using the Gigabit Ethernet communication protocol. GigE Vision is the first standard to allow for fast image transfer using low cost standard cables over very long lengths. With GigE Vision, hardware and software from different vendors can interoperate seamlessly over GigE connections.
The standard was developed for industry, by a talented group of companies representing every sector of the vision industry. The Automated Imaging Association (AIA) oversees the ongoing development and administration of the standard.
GigE Vision offers many benefits including:
- High bandwidth (1000 Mbps) allows large uncompressed images to be - transferred quickly in real time
- Uncompromised data transfer up to 100 meters in length
- Standard gigabit Ethernet hardware allows single/multiple camera connection to single/multiple computers
- Low cost cables (CAT5e or CAT6) and standard connectors
- Highly scalable to follow the growth of Ethernet bandwidth. As 10GigE becomes mainstream, GigE Vision will be the fastest connection in the industry
- Standard hardware, cables allow easy, low cost integration
