Kappa has successfully extended its camera range with Gigabit Ethernet cameras. The GigE CCD cameras allow cable lengths of up to 100m/330ft (CAT5E) and are available with various sensors; in color, monochrome or cooled versions, with megapixel resolution, frame rates of up to 30/90 Fps and „short trigger delay“ (6,75 micro sec.). The Kappa Software Pool offers three different tools: The camera control software KCC, the software development kit (sdk3) for integration into third-party software interfaces, and the application software KIB for standard measurement tasks. Special Kappa features like the camera-internal color processing and the camera-internal signature creation are also available for the GigE camera model range. The Gigabit Ethernet cameras are equipped with the Gigabit Ethernet interface GigE. There is no need for specific interface cards or expensive and complicated frame grabbers. Kappa Gigabit Ethernet Cameras are compatible with standard Gigabit Ethernet hardware. Bit rates of up to 1 Gbit/s are possible. Economic cables can be used (CAT 5e / CAT 6). GigE Vision enables cable lengths of up to 100 m. Progressive scan CCD, true color quality, megapixel resolution, excellent image quality, 12 bit digitization depth and user-friendly software environment characterize the Gigabit Ethernet cameras. The customer can choose between 2/3, 1/1.8 and 1/2” CCD sensors, color or monochrome. The brilliant high fidelity color reproduction is achieved by the camera-internal Kappa color processing in real-time. Gigabit Ethernet cameras are perfect for multiple camera configurations.

GigE Vision is a new camera interface standard developed using the Gigabit Ethernet communication protocol. GigE Vision is the first standard to allow for fast image transfer using low cost standard cables over very long lengths. With GigE Vision, hardware and software from different vendors can interoperate seamlessly over GigE connections.
The standard was developed for industry, by a talented group of companies representing every sector of the vision industry. The Automated Imaging Association (AIA) oversees the ongoing development and administration of the standard.
GigE Vision offers many benefits including:
- High bandwidth (1000 Mbps) allows large uncompressed images to be - transferred quickly in real time
- Uncompromised data transfer up to 100 meters in length
- Standard gigabit Ethernet hardware allows single/multiple camera connection to single/multiple computers
- Low cost cables (CAT5e or CAT6) and standard connectors
- Highly scalable to follow the growth of Ethernet bandwidth. As 10GigE becomes mainstream, GigE Vision will be the fastest connection in the industry
- Standard hardware, cables allow easy, low cost integration

Phantom CineMag & CineStation
High-Speed imaging is memory hungry
Shoot 1000 frames-per-second with the Phantom® HD at 1920x1080 and 14-bits of memory depth and you will need 3.6GB of memory for each second of recording!
Just getting that much data out of the camera can take minutes. Those are precious minutes you'd rather be shooting, maintaining the momentum and pace on set.
Introducing the Phantom® Cinemag® . Hot-swappable, non-volatile memory magazines for the Phantom® Digital Cinema cameras.
Cinemag® in HandThe Cinemag® comes in two sizes--256GB and 512GB. Record directly into a Cinemag® on the Phantom® HD at speeds up to 450 fps at 2048x1080. At higher speeds, record into camera RAM and "upload" to the Cinemag® in seconds. With the Phantom® 65, record directly into the Cinemag® at up to 90 fps. On both cameras, higher direct recording speeds are available at lower resolutions.
When a Cinemag® gets full, or when you are done with a series of shots, pop the Cinemag® off the camera and snap another one on. You can later use the camera as a "docking station" to view and download your high-speed movies. Or, use the Phantom® Cinestation® (available in late 2007) connected to a PC and keep your camera free for doing its job--shooting high-speed scenes. The Cinestation® supports both raw digital file and video workflows by providing a fast file download capability as well as the ability to play the Cine files stored on the Cinemag® over dual HD-SDI video outputs.
Access the data in the Cinemag® from the Phantom® Software, just as if you were accessing recordings stored on a camera.
|
|
Version 675 is the latest general release of the Phantom camera control software. This version includes support for the Phantom v12.1, v210, v310, v710, v640, Miro eX family and the 10Gb version of the CineStation as well as most other Phantom cameras, and includes many enhancements and support for new features like the internal and external mechanical shutters. It is a recommended upgrade for most Phantom users.
To see what is new, please read the Release Notes. Read back to the last revision you have installed to see all changes. Not all interim releases are made available for download, so your current release may be back a few pages.
To download this software, you must be an existing Phantom camera customer. Please be prepared to provide the serial number of one of your Phantom cameras for validation. After reviewing your request, we will send you an email with a URL to your personal download location.

A 3D smart camera for stand-alone solutions in factory automation
Every day SICK sensor solutions simplify production for thousands of companies around the globe. Our 3D smart camera, the IVC-3D, brings a new dimension to sensor intelligence and to flexible automation solutions.
The real world has three dimensions! Using traditional 2D camera solutions will always be a compromise when height matters to you. IVC-3D is the first smart camera in the world that inspects all three dimensions, giving you unsurpassed inspection results and robustness.
Application examples:
Inspection and volume measurement of bread in bakeries
Misshaped bread will be rejected automatically to increase quality and reduce problems in the packaging station. The volume measurement can be used for on-line adjustments of the process parameters.
Inspection of brake plates in automotive industry
Three features are inspected on the brake plate: the surface, height position of the plug, and the angle of the metallic spring. All are 3D features and are inspected simultaneously.
|
|
IVC-3D smart camera:
the first and only device of its type
- Extremely rapid, reliable 3D image detection
- 2D programming for 3D results
- Lens, illumination, evaluation: all-in-one
- Determines profiles, volumes, shapes

The Imaging Source - a multi-national manufacturer of industrial cameras - has just brought to market a new series of CCD cameras, available in 27 models. The cameras ship in robust industrial casing with a C/CS lens mount and optionally with a trigger and digital I/Os. The color, monochrome and Bayer models are available in VGA, XGA and SXGA resolutions.
The software support of the cameras leaves nothing to be desired: Both programmers and end-users immediately feel at home. Getting started with the cameras is a matter of minutes and integrating them into existing applications takes only a few lines of code. Drivers for "LabView", "Halcon", "DirectX", "Twain" and "WDM" are included. All camera parameters and settings can be set via the shipped software. Furthermore, a number of automatic modes are available, which guarantee optimal image quality in varying light conditions. The cameras ship with drivers for Windows XP/Visa, the SDK "IC Imaging Control" and "IC Capture". The latter is a powerful end-user application, which allows all cameras parameters to be set, live video to be displayed, singular images and image sequences to be captured.
As an optional extra, the cameras can be combined with a ringlight system, which has been specifically designed by The Imaging Source for its cameras. All ringlight parameters can be adjusted using "IC Imaging Control" and "IC Capture".

OEM Solutions
When it comes to integrating vision or optical measurement capabilities into one's original equipment, picking separate components on the sole consideration of their state-of-the-art specifications doesn't make it right every time. When it makes it. What is of utmost importance, rather, is the supplier's skills in sorting out the very requirements that govern the final system performance and customizing the right solution for the right cost.
We specializes in supplying industry OEMs with specific solutions that exactly meet their exact vision or optical application requirements.
Here is another example of customization and application-specific solution:
a set of three linescan cameras embedded in a circular section PCB with their PCI grabber board used in a non-contact 3D measuring machine for the automotive industry.
