InkJet printing in industrial environments involves many challenges, from harsh conditions to complex marking requirements. As a result, no single inkjet technology serves all applications well. Matthews offers Drop-On-Demand® InkJet, Continuous InkJet, and High Resolution InkJet in order to provide excellent marking performance for a wide range of applications.
Drop-on-Demand® printing is a rugged inkjet technology that can utilize a wide variety of inks (and therefore can mark many different substrates). DOD Printers provide incredible flexibility, making medium to high resolution marks over marking areas that can range from very small to very large.
Continuous InkJet Printers excel at making small, well-defined marks even at very high speeds. The range of available inks is somewhat less than is available for Drop-On-Demand®, but if an ink is available the print quality is high.
Matthews High Resolution Inkjet Printers provide optimum print resolution, high speed, and large or small mark sizes. These printers work very well for printing very crisp bar codes, graphics, and text onto primary and secondary packaging (often used in place of labels).

EBS-1500 Series Industrial INK-JET Printers (DOD, LCP)
The Controller of a printer or printing system for producing large prints. Electromagnetic and/or piezoceramic print-heads can be connected. Owing to increased power requirement of the 24V bus, the number of connectable print-heads varies between 1 and 6.
The Controller with at least one print-head attached makes a fully functional printer. It demonstrate versatility and flexibility in configuring a printing system and high functionality of the printing.
Out of very many Controller capabilities, only the most important ones are specified below (some of them depend on the type of print-head used):
- The Controller controls the process of making durable and legible prints on a variety of types of surface, smooth, porous and also uneven surfaces of irregular shapes, such as pipes, bags, insulation sleeves, fabrics, extruded packing,

EBS-6200 is an industrial single-head INK-JET printer designed for labelling objects moving on a factory conveyor without requiring direct contact. Systems for labelling stationary objects are also available. They are based on moving print-head technology, where the print-heads are controlled manually or automatically. Prints are produced with coloured dye-based inks, i.e. homogenous non-pigment inks. The feature that differentiates this printer from others is the fact that it does not need to be supplied from a compressed air system.
Printers on offer differ in maximum print height (MPH, the maximum height of a vertical row) which can be 16, 25 or 32 dots.

An electromagnetic print-head for EBS-1500 series printing systems. It contains a printing unit where nozzle valves are controlled with the application of electromagnetic transducers. The electromagnetic print-head has the following properties:
- It is designed for making durable and legible prints on practically any material and a variety of types of surface, smooth, porous and also uneven surfaces of irregular shapes, such as pipes, bags, insulation sleeves, fabrics, extruded packing,
- It can run as part of single-head or multi-head systems under the control of general-purpose controllers UPC EBS-1501(2) or UPC EBS-1506,

Orifice Configurations:
Printheads are available in a range of orifice configurations according to the desired print height and resolution. Multiple orifices per channel increase the print area without added cost and complexity.
High efficiency:
With printhead orifices smaller than a human hair, extremely low volume droplets are produced. As a result, the ink efficiency is superior to that of competitive printing technologies.
Repairability:
Being able to repair Trident printheads saves users money when compared to the high replacement costs for "disposable" or unrepairable printheads. The diagram below shows how the UltraJet II printhead is constructed for easy repairability.
