APG1000: APG Gas Enginator® Generating System Featuring ESM® Technology 1000 - 1100 kW
The first of the new APG Series, the APG1000 Enginator genset, is a 1MW unit that extends Waukesha's high-speed product offering into the 800 to 1100 kW range. Used alone or grouped with other units, this one megawatt genset is one of the key building blocks in developing gasdriven
power generation solutions that meet customer needs.
The APG1000 has been developed in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as part of the DOE's Advanced Reciprocating Engine Systems (ARES) program. The ARES program was created to accelerate the development of large natural gas engines that operate
with increased efficiency while meeting tight emissions requirements, maintaining current levels of reliability and durability, and reducing ownership costs.
The APG1000 is a 16-cylinder, turbocharged, intercooled, lean combustion power generation unit that features ultra-low NOx capability and patented ignition system and combustion chamber concepts. It is rated at 1000 kW at 50 Hz and 1100 kW at 60 Hz - 500 and 1800 rpm, respectively. It is one of the most efficient 1 MW units available at 1800 rpm, 42 % BTE (brake thermal efficiency) and is among the lowest in lean burn emissions (1 g/bhp-hr NOx). At 42 % BTE, the APG1000 is six percentage points better than the previous generation of the engine from which the APG1000 is derived.
CONTROL SYSTEM - Waukesha Engine System Manager (ESM) integrates spark timing control, speed governing, detonation protection, start-stop control, diagnostic tools, fault logging and engine safeties. Char-Lynn Steering product line consists of steering control units (SCU) and steering system components such as torque generators, columns, wheels, and valves.
The Char-Lynn steering control unit (SCU) is fully fluid linked. This means there is no mechanical connection between the steering unit, the pump, and the steering cylinders. The unit consists of a manually operated directional control servo valve and feedback meter element in a single body. It is used principally for fluid linked power steering systems, but it can be used for some servo-type applications or any application where visual positioning is required.

LAG steering units are used in the hydraulic steering circuits of motor vehicles and mobile machines with high axle loads and driving speeds of up to 50 km/h (60 km/h in Germany).
Even heavy vehicles can be easily steered. The absence of a mechanical connection between the steering unit and the steering axle allows the implementation of solutions that would not be feasible with conventional steering systems.
Includes all valves that are required in the hydraulic steering circuit for the protection of the steering unit and cylinder. No need for additional piping.
If the oil supply fails, the LAG can be used to steer manually - emergency steering capability. The LAG then functions as a handpump to the steering cylinder.

The standard production of Induction systems has been therefore enriched with the construction of prototype systems that express our growth in the direction of applied research, and that allow to develop innovative solutions in the induction heating sector.
Induction’s main objective is the application and development of innovative solutions in medium and high frequency induction heating, allowing maximum system reliability together with high technological content.
The personalization of Induction systems, together with Customer interaction, assures an enduring relationship over time, and professional service during the product’s entire lifecycle.
The Induction production line-up is able to satisfy all standard and special requirements of industrial induction heating, by means of an innovative technology that allows to obtain an electrical efficiency close to the theoretic limits.
Induction converters are medium frequency static generators, applied to series or parallel resonant circuits, whose use allows heating though magnetic coupling.
In spite of different circuit solutions, Induction converter performance is assured by continuously updating projects for the tuning of new constructive solutions. Furthermore, the development of control and adjustment power components is in continuous evolution, while all applications are compliant with the norms in force in the area of machine directives.

Symmetricom's model 700 Miniature Time Code Generator suits applications where compact size, light weight and ease of operation are required. Generator time is set automatically using the IRIG B synchronized generator input. Internal batteries enable the generator to output IRIG B time code even if power is interrupted for up to ten hours. The time base of this self-contained unit is maintained by a precision crystal oscillator. A small alphanumeric display provides instant visual feedback of the 700's operation. Options are available to add video time insertion, other time codes, or parallel BCD output.
Standard features include an IRIG B synchronized generator input for rapid synchronization to a master generator. This feature makes the 700 ideal for flightline or remote field applications. IRIG B serial time code (1 kHz amplitude modulated carrier) is output via an SMA connector to drive data recorders, remote displays, or other peripheral timing instrumentation.
The 700 operates on 10.5 to 32 Vdc input via a 6-pin MS connector. A locking toggle switch turns power on/off. Once power is "on," synchronization to an external IRIG B input code is automatic. A red LED lights when power is on or if the 700 system is not locked to the input code, and a green LED lights when input code synchronization is complete.

The world's water consumption rate is doubling every 20 years, outpacing by two times the rate of population growth. It is projected that by the year 2025 water demand will exceed supply by 56%, due to persistent regional droughts, shifting of the population to urban coastal cities, and water needed for industrial growth. The supply of fresh water is on the decrease. Water demand for food, industry and people is on the rise.
Lack of fresh water reduces economic development and lowers living standards. Clearly, there is a critical worldwide need to better manage this increasingly valuable resource.
Desalination systems from GE Water & Process Technologies can make abundant fresh water both from seawater and from challenging brackish sources.
