The 2-channel compact isolators IS pac are equipped with detachable terminals available in screw terminal, cage clamp terminal and insulation cutting terminal versions. Depending on the particular application, the devices snap singly onto DIN rails and can either be centrally supplied from the common power supply (pac-Bus) or simply and conveniently connected to the automation system using teh pac-Carrier.
The pac-Bus supplies the isolators with power and issues line errors occurring in the I.S. inputs and outputs via a floating contact. In addition to this collective messaging system, each individual device signals line errors by means of a red LED and an indicator contact.
With its choice of 8 or 16 slots, the pac-Carrier makes for an elegant automation system integration solution. Connecting to diverse automation systems is made easier by system-specific circuit board adapters equipped with matching plugs.
With the IS pac system also system specific solutions in any possible constellation from engineering to cabinet manufacturing are available.

In the process control and automation field, often the need arises of interfacing low level signals generated by thermocouple, Pt-100, load cell, current and voltage transducers, LVDT etc.. to the process controllers, PLC, DCS etc.. Also, one signal needs to be fed to the multiple control device. To take care of common ground loop of many sensors to single system and also avoid loading effect, isolation of these signal from one another is must. The models featured here provides optical and/or galvanic isolation between input and output, maintaining the desired level of accuracy and linearity.
APPLICATIONS
For conversion and isolation of low level dc signals to (4-20)mA signal for interfacing to PLC, SCADA, DCS etc..

Optical Isolators provide lasers with immunity from back-reflection, thereby improving the signal to noise ratio for laser diode based transmitters. This is especially important for high data rate transceivers and transponders, or those devices requiring long span lengths between transceiver pairs. All of our isolators are based on dichroic polarizing glass and Faraday rotating crystals for highest performance. These devices are available in a single stage, 1.5 stages, or double stages, with multiple stages providing progressively higher isolation.
LightPath offers isolators in various form factors including: Cylindrical, Surface-Mount, and Sub-Mount. In addition, we manufacture isolators with either an epoxy-free optical path or with a laminated core. The primary benefits of our approach to manufacturing include reduced costs as a result of higher yields, throughput and product consistency as a result of automation. LightPath is capable of delivering a total solution to its OEM customers, from prototype and development contracting through high-volume production. |

When circularly polarized light is reflected, its propagation direction reverses, changing left-circular polarization to right-circular polarization and vice versa. Therefore, the same polarizer that produces circular polarization of the incident beam will block the return beam with an isolation of at least 99.8 percent.
Achieving optical isolation using Meadowlark's circular polarizers requires that a given reflection be specular and that there is no medium intervening between the reflector and optical isolator to cause significant depolarization or polarization modification.
