These cranes have been designed for work on particularly high buildings or in extremely restricted spaces.
A new development is the option of fitting these cranes with a horizontal load path. When the jib is moved, the hoist gear is controlled in such a way as to ensure that the hook travels horizontally.
These luffing-jib cranes can avoid any obstruction and slew through 360° under load. Their small slewing radii and raised jib angles of 15 to 70°, even when not in operation, make these cranes particularly advantageous in operations on tight sites containing numerous cranes with overlapping slewing areas. |

They are the right choice wherever loads have to be moved quickly and safely at the workplace. They relieve workers of the physical burden and also accelerate working processes.
Thanks to a wide range of sizes and designs, they meet the most diverse requirements in terms of load capacity, slewing range and outreach. They can be easily attached to walls or building columns, erected as free standing units or fitted to machinery and installations. |

Description
The knuckle or articulated type is designed jib for use where the movement of standard slewing jibs is restricted by plant layouts. |

Articulating jib cranes from SPANCO can move loads around corners and columns, reach into machinery and containers, and service an area from close to the pivot point to the end of the boom for 360° of operation. Freestanding articulating jib cranes, bridge mounted articulating jib cranes, wall mounted articulating jib cranes, and ceiling/bridge mounted articulating jib cranes are available.
Features
Articulating jib cranes have capacities ranging from 150 to 2,000 lbs. with spans up to 16 feet. Free standing and ceiling/bridge mounted articulating jib cranes offer 360° rotation with options for internally piped compressed air, vacuum or electrification to any device supported on the end of the boom. Articulating wall mounted jib cranes offer 200° rotation on inner arm and 360° rotation on outer arm. Articulating jib cranes offer lower headroom than any other brand of articulating jib cranes. | Jib cranes are commonly used in ports, marinas and shipyards for boat haulage. Such cranes are designed and built by CMR according to customers' specific requirements, paying great attention to the environmental impact this type of lifting equipment can have. This is why they are designed to integrate structural sizing requirements with design requirements. In particular, those used for haulage of motorboats are generally single-girder cranes, while double-girder cranes are built for sailboats, allowing them to be lifted and transferred without the vessel's mast colliding with the crane boam. Jib cranes for craft, depending on the fragility of the load and the need for precise positioning in the cradles, can be equipped with frequency converters on the slew rate. |
|
Description
The most popular standard swing jib type can be supported by a floor support pillar or from a stanchion or wall mounted bracket. |
|
Mast style jib cranes are top and bottom mounted. Mast jibs are available in two styles:
- Mast 200 Series Jib Cranes - full cantilever jibs
- Mast 201 Series Jib Cranes - drop cantilever jibs
Both jib crane styles are a lower cost alternative to freestanding jibs provided that a top and bottom mounting are available. Mast style jibs also provide an economical alternative to SPANCO's wall mounted jib cranes when the size of the support column is not adequate.
Features
360º rotation is available for mast jibs provided that the jib crane is mounted under a building beam. Mast jibs' standard capacities are available up to 5 ton and spans to 20 feet. Full cantilever mast jibs allow maximum use of headroom to provide highest possible lifting distance. Drop cantilever mast jibs locate the boom anywhere on mast to clear overhead constructions. |
|
Wall traveling jib cranes are a cost-effective solution for lifting and moving heavy material. Custom engineered wall traveling jib cranes are a perfect complement to an overhead crane system to perform tasks efficiently without tying up an overhead crane. A wall traveling jib crane can also be used to cover a series of workstation cranes with little or no downtime waiting for an overhead crane.
Features
Wall traveling jib crane end trucks use channel beam/construction frames to resist twisting and are jig-fixtured and machined to maintain consistent manufacturing tolerances. Bolt type connection to back frame eases erection and assembly. The top running end truck on a wall traveling jib crane utilizes forged steel double flange crane wheels for long life. The wall traveling jib crane drive utilizes squirrel cage motor with double reduction spur gear reducer. Standard single speed controls include mainline contactor, control transformer, inverter acceleration control and fuses in NEMA 3R, 4, 12 control enclosures. The wall traveling jib crane boom is fabricated from standard "S" beam with vertical angle truss to reduce deflection. Jib crane boom and truss bolt to back frame for ease of erection and assembly. |

This typology of crane represents the ideal solution for the material handling, in the working area of the crane arm, in a specific workplace.
The Jib cranes are divided in two categories:
- Jib cranes with column
- Jib cranes at wall
JIB CRANES WITH COLUMN
The jib cranes with column have the main pillar fixed on the ground.
The jib crane for the industry is used to serve workplaces and handle materials with medium/low weight. Normally up to 2000 kg. The hoisting is realized with an electrical rope or chain hoist.
The trasversal movements (through the jib arm and its rotation) are done manually by the operator; is possible install motors for the both movements.
JIB CRANE AT WALL
This cranes are bounded to an existing structure (columns, pillars, walls, etc). The operative characteristics are same of the jib cranes for industry.
The Bonfanti's cranes are developed and produced in the respect of the ISO 9001 norms (TUV).
The main features are:
- CE certification
- Hoisting capacity: from 125 to 2000 Kg (jib crane for industry); up to 40 metric ton (jib crane for ports).
- Crane Arm length: from 2 to 7 meters (standard). Other dimensions are done on specific request. |
