EAO, the Expert Partner for Human Machine Interfaces, extends its range of robust keypads with the new S.series Lite – the first plastic keypad to look identical to a metal one.
Proving that looks can be deceiving, the S.series Lite is made entirely from an extremely durable plastic. With a simulated matt chrome finish, which is scratch-resistant to ensure long-lasting good looks, it looks like a heavyweight keypad. It is also protected to IP67 against water, oil and dirt ingress, so it remains reliable even when exposed to severe weather.
The S.series Lite offers high levels of design flexibility: many different layouts are possible within the two standard sizes, 12-key telephone or 16-key hexadecimal. Each key can be laser etched with any type of legend - characters, numbers or symbols. They can be illuminated with different coloured LEDs (yellow and blue offered as standard), either around or through the legend. The keys themselves can even be finished in different colours (non-standard and subject to volume). The high-quality illumination means numbers can be keyed easily, even in low-light conditions. Laser etching ensures the marking remains pin-sharp for years.
Both versions of the keypads can be mounted either from the front or rear using the supplied gasket. They connect through an external pin-header connection.
The robust design of the S.series Lite makes it perfect for use indoor or outside, particularly within vending machines, ticket machines, payment terminals, telephones and access control systems.

26 key Handheld keyboard
NSI presents a new “Handheld” keyboard series with integrated pointer.
Ideal for applications requiring only a limited number of key functions with fast and comfortable key access and a precise cursor control.
These 26 key membrane keyboards are available with 2 different integrated pointers.
The version KBMT26 has a 38 mm solid state optical trackball. The ball is removable, the trackball optical lenses are accessible and can easily be cleaned or flushed with clear water. Version KBTS26 has an integrated solid state Hall effect joystick, called a “Thumbstick” as this name describes better its functionality. Both pointers can be connected to a PS/2 or USB mouse port and function then as cursor controllers.
The keyboards have numeric and function keys; the control keys are available via “Fn” key mapping. They have a PS/2 or USB output connection.
The membrane is from a hardened polyester, resistant to liquids, oils, most acids and to scratches. Both versions are sealed IP65 and housed in a very stylish and robust ABS housing.

The Digi-Inox® line, with a short switch stroke, is useful for the insertion of short data due to the different digitable feature. It is also solid, compact, unscratchable and made to be used in extreme condition, the shape of keys is round. In the side photo an example of Digi-Inox keyboard only with numerical keys and in reduced dimensions. The available models are with 1 to 98 keys and you can buy a single modular key, numerical or alphanumerical keyboards or extended keyboards with 48 to 98 keys, with frontal and back assembly and with/without trackball. The layouts are customized according to special requirements.

Key pad is an electronic product that - when it is connected to electrical vehicle system consisting of AC controller, EPAS steering system, vehicle master control unit and display - gives us the opportunity to replace the key switch and allows log in. Through the CANOpen network we receive different information regarding the system and driving modes.

A membrane switch, or membrane keyboard, is most often described as a thin, low profile, micro motion front panel assembly utilizing one or more layers of polyester, with screen printed conductors printed on each layer. The switch assembly is generally built with pressure sensitive adhesives to bond the polyester layers together.
When two or more circuit layers are designed into the switch panel, the adhesive spacers both separate and attach the conductive layers. Additionally, they provide the openings needed to allow for a switch closure between the two separated layers. Other options that are often provided on the front panel include an adhesive mounting sheet to attach the keypad to a housing or sheet metal bracket, and a graphic overlay. The graphic is used to provide the cosmetic appeal that is most often associated with a membrane switch assembly.
Tactile membrane switches are either stamped and plated metal contacts, or embossed polyester contacts, used in conjunction with a front panel assembly. The tactile element is generally part of the switch system: enclosed in the switch assembly to provide a "snap" or tactile response when the switch is actuated.

Lumitex uses sheets of UniGlo Fiber Optic Cloth cut into specific sizes and shapes to create a thin flexible lighting layer that goes between the overlay and the dome switches. The product is typically 0.013" (0.33mm) thick and anywhere from 1 sq inch to over 100 sq inches.
The optical fibers coming off one end of the panel are bundled into a circular ferrule and coupled to one or more LED light sources.
Lumitex Fiber Optic Membrane Switch backlighting provides long life, low power, inert, maintenance free backlighting for all membrane switch, overlay, label, keypad and keyboard designs.
Longer Life - Durable fiber optic panel never needs replacement. Remote light source offers 20,000 to 100,000 hours life and easy replacement.
Lower Power - Sources require less power than EL, or LED Array and no inverter. As low as 5-20mA at 2-4vdc
Compact Size - Panels are thin and sources are smaller than EL inverters.
