Precision Dispensing Pump for UV Sensitive Fluids
Fluid Metering, Inc. of Syosset, NY
announces their new VMP Electronic
Variable Displacement Metering Pump
for accurate dispensing of UV (Ultra-
Violet) sensitive fluids.
Typical fluids that fall into this category are,
UV curable adhesives, UV coatings, and
photo lithography chemicals.
The VMP Variable Displacement
Dispenser is a fully programmable
dispensing system, which utilizes FMI’s
patented CeramPump® Valveless piston
pump design. A precision stepper motor
controls the pump speed.
However, what makes the VMP truly
unique from other FMI dispensers is the
addition of a second stepper motor, which
electronically adjusts the piston
displacement. This provides ultra-fine
dispense adjustments through varying of
piston stroke length.
The VMP can be programmed for a variety of functions using a user-friendly Touch Screen Interface (TSI) which can control up to 16 pumps on a single bus. Up to 128 metering devices
can be controlled using a PLC or computer.
The VMP will store up to 100 programs letting you change between setups on the fly. For UV applications, the pump head is made from either 316 stainless steel or opaque PVDF to isolate UV light from the process fluid as it travels through the pump head.
Typical applications include dispensing of UV curable adhesives for medical component assembly, photo resist for printed circuit and semiconductor manufacturing, and UV adhesives & coatings for DVD manufacturing.

MEDIAJET - reliable walk-away media dispensing system
The MEDIAJET media filling system offers the unique flexibility to fill Petri dishes as well as test tubes of various sizes.
The compact MEDIAJET provides truly reliable, walk-away operation. The dish guidance system is monitored throughout the filling process. Operational downtime due to 'dish jams' resulting from variations of the Petri dishes is completely eliminated. The MEDIAJET vario device version can be converted easily from filling Ø 90 mm dishes to fill Ø 60 mm or Ø 35 mm dishes. Furthermore, the MEDIAJET includes a shaker mode for facilitating pour plate applications. The MEDIAJET is the perfect complementation to the MEDIACLAVE media preparator.
Special features:
- Controlled dish guidance for reliable walk-away operation
- Fast Petri dish processing for filling up to 900 plates per hour.
- Processing of various dish sizes (Ø 90, 60 or 35 mm) and dish heights.
- Biplate option for filling two-compartment Petri dishes.
- Shaker mode for pour plate applications.
- TUBEFILLER option for the filling of up to 1000 test tubes in one hour.

EVERYTHING about dispensing that has been valued in terms of precision and consistency. Autotronik High Precision Dispenser System was designed to concentrate on the essentials, which is cost effective and simple to maintain.
Super fast valves and clever control firmware ensure perfectly controlled dispensing processes. With this elaborate technology and little need for cleaning of the dispensing head, the unit can be used much more effectively. This does not only apply to conventional dot sizes, but also for any sort of microdot, down to a diameter of 0.15 mm.
At the center of the demand for high precision stands the Advanced-Time-Pressure (ATP) method. This is supported by reliable electronics, five super fast valves and highly accurate temperature measurement. All support the automatic calculation and control of precisely appropriate pressure pulses to ensure absolutely constant dispense volumes.
Adhesives, too, can be used without problems. The patented dispense head heating prevents 'stringing'. When dispensing thin potting compounds, for example, the ATP method of the Autotronik High Precision Dispenser System proves its worth. Cartridge fill levels are automatically determined by the pressure built up response and the required snuff back vacuum applied.

A shaft encoder records every hundredth of a turn, and a preselection counter is used to set the number of turns corresponding with the volume - and hence weight - you need.
Once this machine reaches the number of turns needed, the screw stops, and the filling system is ready for a new container.
