The FARO Professional laser Tracker X is a portable, contact measurement system that uses laser technology to accurately measure large parts and machinery across a wide range of industrial applications. It has a 70m (230-ft.) diameter range, achieves point to point accuracy as high as 0.011mm (0.0004”), and is rugged enough for the shop-floor environment. The system measures 3-D coordinates with its laser by following a mirrored spherical probe. High-accuracy, angular professional encoders — along with XtremeADM — Absolute Distance Measurement, reports the 3-D position of the probe in real-time.

We have built up a rock-solid reputation for designing and manufacturing absolutely reliable, robust laser trackers that find application in the most demanding environments, from factory shop floors to supplier of metrology labs. At first there was the SMART series, then the LTD500 generation, followed by the LTD700/800, and in 2005 we gave you the LTD640/706/709/840 family. In 2008, we are welcoming the Absolute Tracker.
At about 22 kg [48 lbs] and 62 cm [2 ft], the Leica Absolute Tracker enables easy one-person operation. A quick release mechanism securely locks the sensor onto the sturdy, heavy-duty tripod. You get the no-compromise stability that’s paramount for accurate measurements. Better industrial still, the entire setup can be transported in the trunk of an average station wagon.
The Leica Absolute Tracker, just like its earlier Leica Geosystems brethren, relies on a technically sophisticated yet surprisingly maintenance-free internal design that allows it to run hour after hour, day after day, month after month without the need for any compensation whatsoever.

Unbreakable SMRs:
While other SMRs are constructed using a very sensitive alignment of fragile glass mirrors, API SMRs are manufactured to be much more robust without sacrificing accuracy. It is possible to drop an API SMR to the ground without sustaining any damage or loss of accuracy.Considering the cost of replacing a single SMR that has been mishandled or damaged, an unbreakable SMR from API will pay for itself the first time it is hits the ground.Furthermore, APIs Unbreakable SMRs can be used with any existing professional laser tracker regardless of make, model, or age. Whether it is an ADM or interferometer based system, an unbreakable SMR from API can improve the durability and accuracy of your measurement process.
API offers two types of Unbreakable SMRs: Prismatic (solid glass prism corner cube) and Hollow (hollow steel optic with golden coating). Each type is available in large or small sizes (0.5 inch or 1.5 inch diameter). Hollow SMRs are available in a standard or high precision model. API offers more choices to best fit your application with hollow targets rated for 15, 40, and 60 meters. These are directly suitable for APIs 15, 40, and 60 meter Laser trackers. |
