The LED stroboscope uses an LED light source to generate intermittent flashes at a set frequency.
Stroboscopes are used to observe periodic phenomena whose frequency is too high to be observed by the unaided human eye (motor rotation, etc.). By adjusting the flash frequency to about that of the phenomenon, the movement appears to be slowed or stationary, allowing it to be studied. Industrial uses include the maintenance of motors or other rotating machines.
The advantages of LED stroboscopes are those of LED light sources in general: lower power consumption and cool operation. This gives battery-powered models longer operating time.
Choice will depend on the intensity of the light flash and the range of available frequencies.
