In order to eliminate false alarm given due to medium with high viscosity sticking onto the probe , a special material acting as an insulation electrode have been added in between the active section and the grounding section.
As shown in the diagram, sensing probe always experience medium clogging on it and thereby produces a capacitance and resistance between the 3 parts. Since the electric field between the active section and the guard section is round shaped, there will be no current passing through the medium between the electrodes.
The Admittance level switch uses this principle, to add a guard section between the active section and the grounding section to block the admittance current to reach the vessel wall from the medium between the active section and grounded electrode. Although there would be a small amount of admittance current between the guard section and the active section, the circuit would not take this current value into account. Due to the guard section, only the admittance current change between the active section and the tank wall will be detected by the circuit, thus only when the sensing probe is in contact with the medium will there be a precise signal.

Application description:
The conductive rod probe SAT in combination with suitable switching devices (e.g. fill level limit switch SRA-100, SRA-101, SRA 102, SRE-200) is used for limit value detection and niveau control in electrically conductive liquids. Also possible is the detection of overflow, dry run, humidity, flow.
Depending on the selected type, it is possible to realize up to 6 switching points. The longest rod operates as ground reference.
The connection housing is protected against splashing water IP65.

Products Level Measurement - Capacitive level sensors
All of the capacitive level sensors are now available with automatic calibration should the overall length need to be changed.
The required length can be easily adjusted by the user. Once the length has been shortened the unit will require to be re-calibrated. This is now very simple, just requiring the "Zero Adjustment" button to be pressed with the tank empty and the "Maximum Value Adjustment" button to be pressed with the tank full. The calibration is then done automatically by the integrated micro controller.
The advantages of these level sensors includes the ease of adjustment, voltage or current outputs, extremly robust by virtue of the coaxial measuring principle and a 2" BSP head. Additional switching points are available optional.

The float switches are compact, reliable and very easy to install. They are not affected by electrical interference and with a wide range of materials are able to withstand various chemicals, high temperatures and high pressures. By varying the size of float and material used we are able to make sure the switch activities correctly every time.
The activation of the switch uses the principle of a reed switch and magnet.
When used in the vertical position the reed inside the stem is stationary and the float (housing a magnet) is moved up or down passed the reed switch (this closes the reed contact). When the magnetic field is moved away the reed switch opens.
When used in a horizontal position the float is used in a pivotal movement. The magnetic field inside the float is moved into the proximity of the reed switch inside the stationary stem. The reed switch opens or closes.

28.02.2008 Vouvry (Switzerland): A lot of process control applications need to react to level detection. In order to offer an easy way to trigger a signal as an input for a PLC or even switch power directly once a certain liquid level is reached, Microprecision electronics added a floater actuator to its successful V3 size MP300 switch series.
A floating polypropylene ball of 50 mm diameter is mounted on a stainless steel lever actuator. Designed for a working temperature of 100C, short term up to 120C, this solution also shows a good chemical resistance.
The floater activates a MP320 switch wired as a change over or just simply NO or NC. The switch itself is IP67 sealed and has a power rating of 250 VAC / 6A under EN61058, with an operating temperature range which can go up to 200C. The switch can be equipped with PUR, SI or PVC cable of any length.
