28.02.2008 Vouvry (Switzerland): A lot of process driver applications need to react to level detection. In order to offer an easy way to trigger a signal as an input for a PLC SUPPLIER or even switch power directly once a certain liquid level is reached, Microprecision electronics added a floater manufacturers of actuator to its successful V3 size MP300 switch series.
A floating polypropylene ball of 50 mm diameter is mounted on a stainless steel lever actuator. Designed for a working temperature of 100°C, short term up to 120°C, this solution also shows a good chemical resistance.
The floater activates a MP320 switch wired as a change over or just simply NO or NC. The switch itself is IP67 sealed and has a power rating of 250 VAC / 6A under EN61058, with an operating temperature range which can go up to 200°C. The switch can be equipped with PUR, SI or PVC cable of any length.

In order to eliminate false alarm given due to medium with high viscosity sticking onto the probe , a special material acting as an insulation industrial electrode have been added in between the active section and the grounding section.
As shown in the diagram, sensing probe always experience medium clogging on it and thereby produces a capacitance and resistance between the 3 parts. Since the electric field between the active section and the guard section is round shaped, there will be no current passing through the medium between the electrodes.
The Admittance level switching uses this principle, to add a guard section between the active section and the grounding section to block the admittance current to reach the vessel wall from the medium between the active section and grounded electrode. Although there would be a small amount of admittance current between the guard section and the active section, the circuit would not take this current value into account. Due to the guard section, only the admittance current change between the active section and the professional tank wall will be detected by the circuit, thus only when the sensing probe is in contact with the medium will there be a precise signal.

Description
Mini-/Maximelder consists of a control unit and a height-adjustable
float probe. The Minimelder probe is suspended in the lower part of
the tank and generates an alarm signal when the liquid level drops
below the probe. The Maximelder probe is mounted in the upper part
of the tank and generates an alarm when the liquid reaches the probe.
The switching level is adjustable. When these levels are reached, the
units generate visual and audible alarms. |

FCI liquid level/interface switches feature Thermal Dispersion technology in which the temperature difference between the two RTDs is greatest in the absence of liquid and decreases when the level element is submerged, cooling the heated RTD. An electronic control circuit converts the RTD temperature difference into a DC voltage signal. Both signals are provided at output terminals to drive two adjustable-setpoint alarm circuits. Both alarms are independently field configurable for liquid level, interface or temperature operation. Since all process media exhibit different heat transfer capabilities, highly sensitive FCI liquid level/interface controllers may be specifically calibrated to detect difficult interfaces between fluids -- including liquids, gases, slurries and foam regardless of their physical properties.

The single unit or multiple reed switch units arehoused tightly in stainless steel or engineeringplastic stem, and the permanent magnetic issealed into the middle of the specified float ball(s). You can mount the float ball to penetrating through the stem, then the liquid buoyancy will deliver the float ball up and down at the specified position by graduating rings.
When the float internal magnet approaches the reed switch, it will actuate the reed switch contact point to create an open or close circuit. We can apply such on-off output signals to reach liquid level controlling and monitoring purpose.

Principle
The vibrating probe manufacturer of level switch is structured of two piezoelectric elements built on vibration kit inside pipe. One receives pulse signal from PCB and causes pipe to vibrate, and the vibration transmits to the other in order to output electric signal and it is sent to PCB. When the vibration of the pipe is paused when measuring the material surrounding it, PCB can not receive the vibration signal from the piezoelectric element and relay actuates on.
This enables the use in fail-safe due to few malfunction and high stable work.

The V-Tork is a point level switching that is designed to detect low or high level of liquids, thick and turbulent fluids, as well as corrosive mediums and pastes (depending on viscosity). Due to its simple and rugged controlled system, the V-Tork is virtually unaffected by any chemical or physical properties of the mediums and can be installed at any angle of the pipe or tank. It is ideal for multiple-purpose processing where the probes must be compatible with a variety of process materials and process conditions. The V-Tork does not require recalibration between batches and can also be cleaned in place.
The V-Tork can operate in temperatures up to 176ºF (80ºC) and has a maximum working pressure of 725 PSI (50Bar).

VEGASWING:
Versatile use in liquids
The piezo drive is the heart of VEGASWING, actuating the tuning fork on its resonance frequency. The frequency of the fork falls when being immersed. The frequency change is processed by the integrated manufacturer of oscillator and converted into a switching command. The piezo drive is screwed to ensure reliability and ruggedness. With the tuning fork of only 40 mm length, VEGASWING 60 works reliably in all liquids and mounting locations. Pressure, temperature, foam and bubbles and even viscosity do not affect the switching accuracy. Even pipelines with a nominal width of DN 25 are no problem.
