Safe4 light curtain is a contactless safety device with built-in self-testing. It contains two redundant self-monitored chan nels which fulfill index IV of the Machine Directive EC/98/37 as cat. 4 safety light curtains and IEC / EN 61496.
The light curtain system is very resistant to ambient light interference and can cope easily and very reliably with demanding applications, such as welding robots. The large detection range (up to 30 m for hand-resolution and up to 9 m for finger-resolution) also enables the reliable safeguarding of hazardous zones covering large areas. With Safe4 units available starting at 120 mm lengths, they are optimally designed to safeguard small hazardous areas. In addition, it is also possible to combine multiple protective fields (cascading or L-configuration), and monitor them with a single controller. This provides the machine manufacturer the freedom to optimize the machine design.

D-LAS Series - Laser Digital Light Barriers
The laser digital light barriers of D-LAS Series work with visible parallel laser light. The use of round or rectangular apertures ensures a homogeneous light distribution in the laser beam. Smallest objects are detected even in case of a large transmitter/receiver distance. Dynamic correction of the switching threshold compensates the effect of dirt accumulation
(with D-LAS1, D-LAS2, D-LAS34, and D-LAS-34/90).

Through-beam sensor FE 88-R-NAV-L5
Scanning range 30 m (DC) or 65 m (AD/DC)

Complementary switching outputs (DC)
Time functions (AC)
N.O./N.C. selectable
Voltage: 10 ... 30 V DC
Switching frequency: 1000 Hz
Transmitter and receiver of through-beam sensors are separate. This means that the emitted light has to travel the distance between transmitter and receiver only once. Therefore they are called through-beam sensors. These types can reach very large scanning ranges.
For the use of through-beam sensors, their sensing range is essential. In case of very critical ambience conditions, as strong formations of dust or steam, it is important to pay attention that the sensors cannot be run at their sensing range limits. Attenuation may result, which reduces the sensing range.
The sensing range listed in the data sheet should not be exceeded, in order to guarantee functionality even in bad operating conditions. If corner mirrors are used, the total distance to be monitored should be within the indicated sensing range.
A special feature of the one-way sensors is the FLS/FLE 18 laser sensor. In this version, the sensor is equipped with special focussing optics. This makes it possible to alter the diameter of the light spot. The scanning distance of this sensor is max. 50 m.The light spot can be reduced to a diameter of 0.03 mm. As a result it is possible to reliably detect even the smallest objects at a greater distance.

In the same profile you can either choose between Type 2 or 4 Light curtains and Light grids. Focus is very easy to configure, install. It has from 14 mm resolution for both Type 2 and 4. Inputs for muting: partly beam/s and completely. Floating Blanking is optional. Focus has manual supervised reset or automatic reset. The Focus profiles have slots on three sides and very good resistance against external lights.
The Spot light beam is available in two versions, Spot 10 for distances up to 10 m and Spot 35 for up to 35 m. The light beams can be mounted at different heights using available brackets and mirrors. Spot and Vital in combination fulfils the requirements for Category 4 according to EN 954-1 and EN 61496
Light beams and light curtains are a production friendly safety component that does not physically impact on the actions of the machine operator. An operator can have both his hands free when he puts in his hand or he passes in and out of a risk area. At the same time the operator knows that he can trust the safety component to stop all dangerous movements. Light barrier protection is also a good safety component for use when goods are to be passed in and out of a risk area.

The Object100 measuring light curtains from CEDES are the essential components in machines and equipment for an efficient and defined production flow. The Object100 light curtain consists of an emitter and receiver, which stand out due to their extremely high sampling rate of 40 ms per beam. Therefore it is possible to detect small objects which move very rapidly through the detection area.

The safety light curtains ULVT consist of the two components: transmitter and receiver. The distance between both components and the overall height result in those protection width and - height.
By the modular construction protection heights of 100mm to 1900mm are realizable. Special sizes are also available.
Transmitter and receivers operate synchronously, i.e. at the same point in time only a light beam and a reception item are active. The synchronisation is made by the first light beam and the first reception item. Between transmitter and receivers therefore no electrical connection is necessary.
The transmitter creates infrared light beams, which are switched on and off rapidly successively. The parallel light beams with a distance from 7,5mm are controlled by two a chip micro controllers. A resolution of 14mm is realised by the beam distance.
Synchronously to the light beams of the transmitter in the receiver all reception items are analysed by two a chip micro controllers. If an object is in the protection field, i.e. it is darkened at least one of the beams, the two outputs of the receiver interrupt the dangerous movement of the machine, or prevent a start. A renewed start of the machine is in the operating mode with restart only possible by pressing the start push-button during a free protection field.
Several LED at the receiver display thereby the respective operating condition. The system detects an internal or external error the machine is immediately switched off and the LED in the transmitter or in the receiver shows by flashing the error status.

Honeywell safety light curtains are photoelectric barriers composed of several infrared beams aligned on an emitting column and a receiving column. Interrupting just one of the beams deactivates the outputs linked to the emergency stop of the dangerous machine. Different resolutions permit the detection of an approaching finger, hand, limb or body. Separate or self-contained control units, various housing sizes, resolutions, scanning ranges and protection heights are available.
Best Used For:
Machine guarding applications requiring operator point-of-operation protection, access detection, presence sensing, gate monitoring and electrical interfacing to the machine circuitry.
