ACE Controls now offers a series of products, titled the LOCKED SERIES, specifically designed to lower machine process costs and increase service life as well as operational safety.
The installation of ACE LOCKED SERIES safety clamping products decreases the forces occuring when problems such as, power failure, programming error, erroneous switching or other problems occur.
All elements of the ACE Controls emergency stops are independent of the power supply and are not dependent on any part of the machinery that they protect and thus act as an independent brake system for the respective drives.

The clamping elements react in the shortest possible response time by the patented pneumatic pre-loading of the system of the spring plates in the diaphragm.
These safety systems are permanently operational for the maximum machine protection.

PClamp clamps and brakes rod loads safely amd quickly. It can be adapted to standard systems such as pneumatic cylinders from leading manufactures (e.g. SMC, Festo= or to individual solutions. Active without pressure – flat design:
The Clamping Element for torque take-up with spring-loaded energy storage TP
The TP series is a pneumatic clamping element for torque motors or for rotational axes.
It works with a newly developed spring-loaded energy storage system.
Torque take-up occurs inside the TP which excludes wear on the driven shaft.
TP achieves high holding torques at a pneumatic opening pressure of >4 bar.
Due to high rigidity, positioning accuracy is exact in use.
The zero maintenance TP is suitable for shaft diameters of
Ø50 to Ø320 mm.
It is characterised by easy assembly and a flat design.

The Clamping and Braking Element including spring-loaded energy storage MB
The MB series is based on a dual-effective wedge slide gear with spring-loaded energy storage for clamping and braking without pressure.
As a specific feature it has three pistons connected in a line.
This arrangement allows use of a stronger spring at 4.5 bar than the BW series does. The stronger spring-loaded storage permits holding forces up to 3,800 N.
The MB series is designed for braking on linear guides.
Because of the material combination of the linear guide/contact section,the linear guide won't be damaged by the contact section.

Active without pressure - compact and powerful:
The Clamping and Braking Element with spring-loaded energy storage UB.
The UB series combines the technology of our BW, TK and MB series. The rigid housing and central position of the wedge slide gear achieve very high supporting forces. The mounting hole template enables the BW, TK and MB series to be substituted. The UB series is based on a dual-effective wedge slide gear with spring-loaded energy storage for clamping and braking without pressure.
This arrangement of three pistons connected in a line allows use of a stronger spring at 5.5bar.
The stronger spring-loaded storage permits holding forces up to 9,000 N. Positive fit contact sections mounted within a strong casing guarantee high axial and horizontal rigidity.
The UB series is designed for braking on linear guides. Because of the material combination of the linear guide/contact section, the linear guide won't be damaged by the contact section.
In order to exclude damage from contamination with chips (chips between contact section and linear guide), the elements can be fitted with original seals (seal kit) from the respective linear guide manufacturer and longitudinal seals as accessories.
When used in harsh work environments or with cooling liquid, the seal kit should be used as well.

ACE’s innovative pneumatic clamping elements of the LOCKED SERIES Type R offer the highest forces and holding for clamping of rotational movements directly on the shaft. They are available in standard sizes for shaft diameters of 50 to 340 mm. Due to the spring-brake actuator principle, energy failure is immediately followed by safety clamping.
As a result of the use of pneumatics, very short reaction times are reached. The use of Piezo valves directly at the clamping point allows for rapid clamping times. The costs when compared to hydraulic clamping systems, including safety clamping, are low.
ACE’s LOCKED SERIES Type R clamping elements are compact in design and easy to install.

The extension unit LOCKED SERIES Type L from ACE enables pneumatic clamping adjacent to the precision rail.
The ACE LOCKED SERIES Type L extension units are identical for all standard rail manufacturers. Due to the side mounting at the carriage, the need for mounting space is minimized. This, in comparison to other systems, is a cost effective alternative offering medium clamping forces of up to 800 N. A spring-brake actuator assures safe and secure clamping in case of a power failure. This clamping element can also be used for rails with a measuring system.
