Trans-Tek Linear Velocity Transducers, or LVTs, provide a simple way to detect speed of an object. Just connect to our internal magnet and push/pull it through the center of the transducer. No excitation required! The motion of the magnet induces a VDC output that is proportional to the velocity of the object being measured. Standard strokes range from ½” up to 24”. Magnetostrictive Position Sensors for Mobile Hydraulics: PCST25
Technical advantages:
Protection class IP69K
Compression-proof up to 400 bar
Measurement range 0 ... 100 to 0 ... 5750 mm

MTS has developed the Temposonics M series especially for integration into hydraulic cylinders. The sensor is protected against shock, vibration and extreme environmental conditions and offers an unrivalled measurement rate, outstanding repeatability (better than +/- 0.005%) and stable linearity (better than 0.04%). External effects on the measurement signal are virtually excluded by interference suppression for HF electric fields up to 200 V/m, vibration resistance up to 30gav and shock resistance of more than 100g. Changes of the hydraulic oil during operation are without effect on the measurement. The magnetostrictive technology of Temposonics sensors was invented by MTS and widely used and well proven in stationary industrial applications for many years. The magnetostrictive measurement principle is a warranty for wear and maintenance free absolute, contactless position measurement.
Temposonics MH offers continuous measurement of both - position and speed - during the position change. The integrated sensor electronics permits parameter adjustment for evaluation of the cylinder piston speed and end position attenuation can be omitted. Due to the output of a velocity signal, highly dynamic control of the movement profile of several independent hydraulic cylinders is possible for the first time. It enables the power actuators to be developed into complex movement axes and permits realization of high-quality control systems. With electro hydraulic parallel guidance of excavators or loaders, for example, Temposonics offer high signal quality and simple analogue transmission due to screening and a short signal lead.

PCFP24: a magnetostrictive Position Sensor as flat as a ruler
Position sensor manufacturer ASM introduces a new magnetostrictive position sensor with a unique extremely flat housing: the POSICHRON® model PCFP24. With a height of only 12 mm, the “flat pack” is suited for numerous applications in narrow installation environments.
POSICHRON® is an absolute, contact-free and wear-free measuring system designed for almost all industrial applications. The PCFP24 has absolutely no protrusion in form of screws, connectors or probes jutting out of the 12 mm construction. This feature makes PCFP24 best suited for applications in narrow installation environments.
The sensor can be installed easily by means of mounting brackets. With this design the sensor position can be adjusted over its whole mechanical length without any mechanical collision. The system is wear- and maintenance-free and features high shock and vibration resistance.
The PCFP24 is available with analog interfaces for voltage (10V) or current (4-20mA) output as well as with SSI or digital pulse output Start/Stop, which makes it possible to bind the sensor into subsequent electronics for bus systems. The sensors measurement range is up to 5750 mm.

Magnetostriction - A Milestone in Measurement Technology
The heart of MTS sensors is the ferromagnetic measuring element, also known as the waveguide, and a movable position magnet that generates a
direct-axis magnetic field in the waveguide. When a current or interrogation pulse passes through the waveguide, a second magnetic field is created radially around the waveguide. The interaction between the magnetic field in the waveguide and the magnetic field produced by the position magnet generates a strain pulse which travels at a constant ultrasonic speed from its point of generation, the measurement point, to the end of the waveguide where it is transformed into an electric pulse in the sensor element. The resulting signal is processed by the specialized electronics of the Temposonics sensor. With our extensive know-how of ferromagnetic materials, magnetic effects and ultrasonic processes, MTS remains unrivalled in performance standards for non-contacting position measurement of the highest precision.

|
The electromagnetic sensors induSENSOR are based on the well-proven inductive principle. They are employed both in single and large-scale applications.
The measurement ranges of the displacement transducers extend from a few tenths of a millimeter to over 600 mm. The actual measurement acquisition takes place without contact and wear free.

With our new Laser-Distance Sensors DLS-B you measure absolute distances up to 500 meters. Thanks to state of the art laser technology the DLS-B device measures with a precision of 1.5 millimeters. It represents a cost efficient solution even at extreme environment temperatures as low as -40° C.
The DLS-B is an optical measuring device. You can measure, maintenance-free, distances on natural and reflective surfaces. You determine positions on objects difficult to access or with very high surface temperatures. Just as well you can measure distances in an aggressive environment in an easy and accurate way.
Serial, analog and digital interfaces are standard features for the complete DLS-B product line. This enables you to easily connect the DLS-B to a control system (SPS, IPC or PC)
The DLS-B device runs in a “Stand-alone-mode” and independently executes all programmed functions. Thanks to the flexible range of functions an external display can be connected directly to the DLS-B device via interface RS232 or RS422. Via a digital input, measurements can also be activated from an external button or switch.
For easy configuration of the DLS-B devices, the necessary software is at your disposal

What is a laser?
Laser light consists of light waves of identical length which have a defined phase relation (coherence).
Laser systems also have a relatively small angle of radiation.
What are the distinctive features of laser systems?
Laser systems are used where detection of small objects or precise positioning is required. Due to the small angle of divergence this can be achieved over long ranges.
How dangerous are laser sensors?
Due to the small angle of divergence laser beams are focussed on a small area. The energy and power density on this area is extremely high. Depending on the technical data of the laser transmitter, this is a risk for human health, specially for the eye. ifm laser sensors conform to the Euro standard EN60825 and the international standard IEC60825. These standards describe the operation of laser systems. In the standard laser systems are divided in 5 classes.
ifm laser sensors are classified in the laser protection class 2. Thus the laser power, also in the setting mode is max. 1 mW. When the laser beam hits the human eye the eyelid is instinctively closed. When hitting the unprotected eye the laser beam must cause no damage within a time of 0.25 s.

The UltraSensor has been designed as a next generation replacement of Proximity and Micro switch systems for monitoring spool movement in progressive divider elements.
A single model will work with all standard SMX and SMP divider blocks as a screw-on accessory without requiring special arrangement or modification to the spool.
The patented concept works by monitoring magnetic flux variations through a hall-effect sensor as the spool enters the sensing range. There are no moving parts which means the solid state device is completely wear free.
NPN and PNP connection options are standard within the same sensor.
