No powder, no granule and no fibre will show exactly the same behaviour.
The Gericke product range of feeders responds to the diverse characteristics of bulk materials and meets the requirements of the operation circumstances.
The offer include volumtric and b>gravimetric loss-in-weight feeders, batch feeders and vibration feeders.
The controller EasydosTM as "state of the art“ control of loss-in-weight feeders communicates via bus system. Due to its simple operation handling it fits for controlling of continuous mixing processes as well as for feeding of extruders.

Compact line of loss-in-weigh feeders for materials with varying bulk density: The digital load cell integrated is protected against corrosion by stainless steel housing and is equipped with vertical overload stops.
Two different application programs are proposed for batch or continuous dosing.
To reach a better dosing accuracy, the feeder is design in such a way that only ingredient hopper and extractors are weighed (It is possible to select a load cell with smaller range of measure and consequently smaller interval).
The feeder is controlled with a multitasking operating system combining the functions of an operator interface, weighing controller, PLC and interfaces.
Design of these feeders is made in agreement with drug and food industries requests for cleaning.

In gravimetric feeding, dry bulk material or liquid is fed into a process at a constant weight per unit of time since weight is a variable that can be captured by a weighing module. Consistent control and complete monitoring are possible. In principle, gravimetric feeding combines monitoring of the feeding process with a feedback loop that enables accurate material control.
Typical application:
Precise feeding and blending of materials is a critical part of the process when manufacturing reinforced thermoplastics. Typical applications require the blending of several granular materials with one or two powder materials within a compact area at the throat of an extruder. Maintaining a steady and precise level of blended material above the throat of the extruder is also a requirement.

Loss in weight feeders are used for the gravimetric dosage of bulk solids (powders, pellets, flakes,..) or liquids, with flow rate range between 1 and 30.000 kg/h allowing to reach high accuracy.
These feeders are applied for continuous blending or for feeding extruders or other process machinery.
Dosing equipment mainly consist of:
- Buffer hopper (that could be provided with antibridge swift) made of stainless steel
- Dosing device (screw conveyor, vibrating chute, gear pump) with continuously adjustable speed.
- Scale with load cells and signal amplifier
- Control system (PLC) that could drive until 15 feeders simultaneously.
GSBI developed a control system that allow the feeders control by means of PLC available in the market (Allen Bradley) avoiding the requirement of dedicated electronic cards or microprocessors, granting the following advantages:
- Reliability, performance and spare parts are the same of the used commercial PLC.
- It is possible to include the management of loss in weight feeders in the PLC that control the raw material storage and conveying plant.
- Simple communication with supervision systems by means of most common standards.
Operator interface is a PC that allows a clear and friendly monitoring of the plant and a very simple process data management.
Also available in compliance with ATEX Directives - Category 3D.

Ramsey Loss-in-Weight Feeders from Thermo Electron Corporation maintain quality and weighing accuracy, reduce material waste and improve blend consistency for increased profits. They accurately control the flow of powders, pellets, flakes or granules to critical processes. They handle hot, floodable and difficult material and are unaffected by dust and material accumulation. These feeders can increase your profits by maintaining quality and weighing accuracy, reducing material waste, and improving blend consistency.
Product Detail
The accurate feeding of dry bulk material is often critical to maintaining product quality. A feeder that weighs accurately and reliably can reduce material waste, improve blend consistency and increase profits.
Ramsey Loss-In-Weight Continuous or Batch Feeding Systems from Thermo measure the mass flow rate and total mass of various bulk materials, such as powders, pellets, flakes and granules. We incorporate the standard, low capacity and sanitary versions of our volumetric feeders into a complete gravimetric feeding system, providing accuracies of ±0.25% to 1.00% and more reliable process control over typical volumetric feeding systems.
There are many advantages to utilizing loss-in-weight feeders. They can handle hot, floodable and difficult materials; are unaffected by dust and material accumulation; and are well suited for low feed rate applications. The entire feeding system is weighed, so there are no errors caused by belt tensioning or tracking. No transportation lag time exists, ensuring precision second-to-second accuracy. Feed accuracy can always be checked during normal operation without the need for sampling.
The Ramsey Micro-Tech 2104 Loss-In-Weight Feeder Controller is specifically designed for continuous or batch loss-in-weight or gain-in-weight applications. It's easy to operate and calibrate with the aid of large easy-to-read displays; straightforward, tactile-touch keyboards; and software that prompts you through proper set-up and operational procedures. A single Ramsey Micro-Tech 2104 is capable of operating two independent loss-in-weight systems, which ultimately contributes to cost savings. A UL-approved version is also available.
