ICU INJECTOR CONTROL UNIT - EFS 8412
PRESENTATION
The 8412 module is designed for use with the ITB 234V test bench
enabling automatic analysis of diesel or gasoline jets via image
processing. It handles the injector driving by means of an Ipod power
module, as well as driving the camera, the fog extraction system
and the light sources (laser or strobe).
USE
The ICU system provides the TTL command signals for driving an injector and the equipment necessary for image acquisition. It must be accompanied by an additional power module adapted to the injector to be driven. For this, EFS offers the IPOD modules for solenoid and piezo-electric injectors.
Injector driving
The ICU system drives the injector with a temporal resolution of 0.1 µs. It can handle from 1 to 10 injections per revolution at frequencies of between 0.1 and 10 Hertz.
It can run in two modes :
- « Signal generator » mode
The driving is based on the injection parameters entered by the user from the supervision PC. The injector command can be inhibited while allowing other signals to be generated thus enabling the calibration of the vision system without injections.
- « One shot » mode
The ICU module receives external information (an impulse on a logical input) on the START input which synchronizes the execution of a single injection cycle (one motor revolution).

VM20 is a modular, multipurpose measuring and test system for grinding machines easily programmable by the user. Available as independent unit or for rack-mounting, equipped with local hardware or remote operator panel as well as with Windows Software panel, digital I/O logic interfaces, Profibus and RS232. The wide range of grinding wheels balancing devices, with or without embedded acoustic sensors, applicable on single or multiple grinding wheels or long grinding wheels, allow to automatically and rapidly reduce vibrations which generally cause errors and imperfections on worked surfaces. The wide range of AE transducers configuration available, with assembly both on rotating and stationary machine components, can be used to monitor the machine conditions, through FFT analysis, and to determine the grinding wheel position when it contacts the piece to be worked or the tool-dresser. During working, diameter and roundness gauges, as well as the pieces positioning gauges, allow to achieve a constant production quality together with a cycle time improvement, thanks to correct feeding speeds for roughing-out and finishing.

The CoMo Logic is a y(t) control monitor with three real-time thresholds and elementary post-cycle curve analysis function. The following operating modes are available: 'GRAPHIC’ for displaying the y(t) signal characteristics, ‘TREND’ for displaying the last 118 peaks of the cycle and ‘PEAK’ with numerical display of the cycle peak.
