Articulated lorry driver arrives at the specified loading bay and reverses the trailer into position, applies the brakes and switches off the engine.
The Salvo-susieis collected from the bay.
The operator removes the Red emergency airline from the trailer bulkhead coupling, this action applies the air
brakes and inhibits the movement of the trailer.
The Salvo-susieis fitted onto the now exposed emergency airline coupling. After successful fitment, a Castell coded key is released from the Salvo-susie, locking the unit firmly onto the coupling. The fitting of Salvo-susieprevents the airline being re-applied.
From here the key is taken to the loading bay and used to open the bay door. Please refer to the system options shown within this document. Site working practices will also need to be taken into consideration.

They are based on the easy-to-understand premise that a key cannot be in two places at the same time - it can for instance be inserted in a switch OR be used for opening a guard. Another safety-relevant feature is that a key can only become free in a safe condition, when there are no hazards - a switch is turned off, a guard interlock is closed and locked. |

In certain applications, the power-operated devices have, due to their inertia, long stopping times and thus also large stopping travels. Examples are big and heavy doors (hangar doors), automatically-guided vehicles (AGV), theatre stages etc. Here so-called bumpers are used. Their dimensions as well as the positions and number of the contact chains are specially selected and manufactured for the intended application.
Bumpers are protection devices for large over-travels. They are equipped with a rubber-foam cushion with suitable surface finish and reinforced if necessary. Colours may also be applied. |

ASO´s Safety contact mat ASK is designed for safeguarding sections of hazardous areas where working machinery may present a potential danger.
Pressure on the mat triggers a control signal to immediately stop a device thereby averting any potentially dangerous situations. The FPSC Fiessler Programmable Safety Center is a programmable electronic safety for personal protection, i.e. for safety functions. The FPSC complies with the highest safety requirements:
- SK1 through SK 4 according to EN 954-1

- PL a through PL e according to prEN 13849-1
The product family FPSC provides maximum flexibility within its hardware and software structure. The FPSC - AD version offers the possibility to connect decentralized I/O modules via the implemented safety bus. This guarantees a modular system design that offers flexibility therefore reducing the costly and often elaborate configuration of the safe system bus.
The safety-related functions are programmable by using pre-assembled and tested software modules. The chaining
is made by simple assignment of input , i.e. output adresses. Intermediate data are stored in the temporary storage. There are various ready-to-use software modules at your disposal. Traditional ‘turnbuckle’ style rope fasteners and adjusters are prone to rope slippage and require frequent re-tensioning leading to production loss caused by machine down time.Idem has overcome this common problem by providing a ‘no nuts or bolts’ rope connection system with a ‘Quick Link’ clasp at one end of the rope and a patented Tensioner /Gripper at the other.
The Tensioner / Gripper is located at the switch (rather than elsewhere along the rope length) so that the switch tension window can be viewed.
