Applications such as machine guards, lifting tables, theatre stages and many others are typical. Safety edges, when activated, will immediately switch off the power source. Prior to the launch of the Haake safety edge, either electrically operating devices to the N/O principle (two conductive strips or layers are brought together when the safety edge is operated), or opto-electronic systems (a light beam is interrupted) were the standard product options available on the market. Such devices operate via signals, which need to be transformed and processed via a control unit.

The SK-Series Control Relay is designed to be used in conjunction with safety elements such as Safety Contact Mats, Safety Contact Edges or Safety Contact Bumpers. The SK series relay utilized a current principle for monitoring the safety contact elements. This method of monitoring makes certain that the high demands for fault recognition as well as for safety are met. Relay switch status along with operating voltage status is displayed via LED’s. SK Series Relays are available in a variety of models depending on the application and conform to safety categories 2 and 3, EN 954-1 and are certified.

Safety Edges are used to protect dangerous closing edges at automatic doors and gates, shutters, vehicle doors or in the machinery industry. Depending on the force and speed of the moving part a suitable rubber profile has to be selected. Bircher Reglomat safety components are developed and certified to meet todays European Safety Standards.

From lifting platforms to machine doors, from sliding shelves to roll-up gates - the Mayser Safety Edges based on the closed circuit principle reliably protect persons from potentially dangerous automatic movements. Slight pressure is sufficient to avert the danger.
Whatever you want to protect with the aid of Mayser Safety Edges - you will find them in the required length. In addition to the comprehensive standard range, customized versions are available, too. Even angled Safety Edges and Safety Edges without dead zones are possible.

Range LINEOCONTACT of AE&T is a range of sensitive switches (ribbons, edges, carpet) designed to measure to adapt to the whole of your applications:
Safety Machine
Automated devices
Conveyer
Emergency call
Sliding doors
Control presence
Etc
Technology used is simple and reliable. It is appropriate for the standard environments like severe.
Flexible device, the range adapts to your needs: you choose the length, dimensions, the color, material, the sensitivity, etc which is appropriate to you and carry we it out for you.
SENSITIVE RIBBONS:
system of "contact in any point" which makes it possible, by a simple pressure, to close the contact and to thus start a call, an alarm, an opening, a flash, etc
Our sensitive edges have very a long life of life (several million contacts in the same point)
SENSITIVE EDGES
system "anti-pinching" made up of sensitive edges integrated in rubber sections. This system makes it possible to close the contact by a pressure as well side as vertical.
The closing of the contact thus starts a call, an alarm, an opening, a flash, etc
SENSITIVE CARPETS
system which makes it possible to detect the presence of a person or an object for a very great number of applications.
Possibility of integrating your logo or of the geometrical forms into it to measure!
RELAY OF CONTROL
system of interface between your sensitive switch (borders, carpet, ribbon) and your application (carries, barrier, alarm, travelator, etc) and to activate it.

Safety contact rails are commonly used as break contacts on printing rollers and cutting machines. The rails consists of an aluminium support profile, C-profile, into which is fixed a rubber profile contact strip.
Bumpers are employed on automatic production lines to minimise danger to both people and machines. The large foam rubber cushions enable long practical braking and run through distances, thus enabling designers to optimise protection to both personnel and machines.
The ASK Safety Mat is used as personal protection within the dangerous areas around presses, robots, production lines, machines etc. When connected to a suitable monitoring system stepping on the Safety Mat will immediately be detected causing dangerous machine movements to be stopped. This is made possible by the detection of electrical contacts closing within the sandwich construction of the Mat.

When actuated, tactile safety monitoring devices stop the hazardous movement. The diversity of applications requires constructively different devices.
The safety edges of the SL range are suitable for safeguarding crushing and shearing points, that can be present on guards, lifting tables and platforms, mobile storage shelving, operating process tables, storage lifts, lift doors, loading ramps, lifting and tilting devices or industrial gates. They immediately stop the dangerous movement, thus preventing injury or destruction.
The safety flaps of the SL 300 range are designed for the protection of man and machine at machines with wide material input or feed areas.
The safety mats of the SMS 3 range are used to protect surfaces in danger zones on machines and plants with dangerous movements. Depending on the shape of the area to be protected, multiple safety mats can be electrically connected. When the safety mat is actuated, a signal is evaluated and the machine stop is initiated.
In combination with a connected safety-monitoring module, the three above-described systems achieve control category 3 or 4 to EN 954-1.

|
In certain applications, the power-operated devices have, due to their inertia, long stopping times and thus also large stopping travels. Examples are big and heavy doors (hangar doors), automatically-guided vehicles (AGV), theatre stages etc. Here so-called bumpers are used. Their dimensions as well as the positions and number of the contact chains are specially selected and manufactured for the intended application.
Bumpers are protection devices for large over-travels. They are equipped with a rubber-foam cushion with suitable surface finish and reinforced if necessary. Colours may also be applied.

To protect persons against risks of this kind, pressure sensitive safety mats are employed. At devices such as machines, machining centres, presses, robot cells, high-shelf warehouses and many others, safety mats immediately switch off the power source, when the mat is stepped on. As long as the person stays on the mat, the machine cannot be set back into operation.

An Omron STI Universal Safety Mat system (UM series safety mat combined with an MC3, MC4, or MC6) offers a simple method for guarding personnel around hazardous machines. A safety mat system offers freedom, flexibility, and reduced operator fatigue when compared with traditional guarding methods such as interlocked fences, pullback restraints or perimeter barriers. Full visibility of and access to the work area is maintained.

ASO´s Safety contact bumpers are designed as safeguarding equipment to be used on transport vehicles, AGV’s and other freely moving systems. Upon contact with an obstacle, the quick response time of the bumper initials an immediate stop signal while the soft foam core provides a long braking and over-travel path. ASN bumpers consist of a foam core attached to an aluminium profile and are covered in a durable NBR rubber or vulcanized polyurethane which provides excellent protection against damage and moisture. Bumpers are available in various lengths, widths and heights to fit most any application and are available in black, yellow, black-yellow stripe as well as custom colors.

Do you have to make a long stopping distance safe? Do you require good optical integration in the safety technology of your machine? And do you nevertheless want maximum protection for persons and objects?
Mayser Safety Bumpers, impact cushions made of soft foam with a polyurethane skin with built-in safety cut-out, expand the spectrum of safety technology at Mayser especially for these cases.
The soft foam body prevents injuries to personnel and damage to property until a safe standstill is achieved. This safety system is also monitored and provides a high degree of safety.
In addition to the standard product line based on four carrier profiles, there are many possibilities for adapting the design and function of Mayser Safety Bumpers to your individual requirements.
Applications:

ASO´s Safety contact mat ASK is designed for safeguarding sections of hazardous areas where working machinery may present a potential danger.
Pressure on the mat triggers a control signal to immediately stop a device thereby averting any potentially dangerous situations. The quick-action signal is sent via a surface area switch design that is totally encased in polyurethane to insure impermeability to moisture. Optional surface materials such as aluminium, stainless steel or oil resistant coverings are available to ensure precise installation. In special cases these contact mats may be used as switch mats in applications such as controlling on automatic door.

Whether for machines, robots or transfer lines - Mayser Safety Mats offer maximum protection for hazardous areas of movement ror any shape of area.
Depending on requirements, there are safety mats with rubber surface topping for anti-slip protection and/or to avoid the danger of tripping - also with matching ramp rails.
