One of the areas which makes Idem's Guardian Line Rope Switch Line new and innovative is in the area of rope connectivity. Traditional ‘turnbuckle’ style rope fasteners and adjusters are prone to rope slippage and require frequent re-tensioning leading to production loss caused by machine down time.Idem has overcome this common problem by providing a ‘no nuts or bolts’ rope connection system with a ‘Quick Link’ clasp at one end of the rope and a patented Tensioner /Gripper at the other.
The Tensioner / Gripper is located at the switch (rather than elsewhere along the rope length) so that the switch tension window can be viewed.
Final setting and locking can be achieved in a matter of seconds without any need for frequent re-tensioning.

Pull-wire emergency stop switches are mounted on machines and sections of plants which cannot be protected by guards. In contrast to mushroom head Emergency Stop push buttons, on pull-wire switches the Emergency Stop command can be initiated from any point on the wire.
In combination with one of the AES and AZR range safety monitoring modules, see chapter 10.3, ZS range pull-wire emergency stop switches can be used for Control Category 3 or 4 to EN 954-1.
Design and mode of operation:
All of the pull-wire emergency stop switches conform to European Standard EN 418. They have a positive linkage between the NC contacts and the wire rope. The pull-wire emergency stop switches are brought into the operational condition by pre-tensioning the wire, i.e. the NC contacts are then closed and the NO contacts open.
Schmersal make both standard and AS-i Safety at Work pull-wire emergency stop switches.

Air Wipe Blow-Off System - Ring-Blade:
Air Wipe Blow-Off System - Ring-Blade from Nex Flow is easy to mount and maintain and reduces both compressed air consumption and noise levels.
It produces a "laminar" flow of air along its 360º angle using the "Coanda" effect which "entrains" a large volume of air from the surrounding area along with the small amount of compressed air from the Ring-Blade air-saver wiper-blade to produce an output flow up to 30 times.
Air Wipe Blow-Off System - Ring-Blade pay back on compressed air savings can be as soon as a few weeks in some applications when compared to nozzle "rings" or simple annular slots used by other air wiping systems.
Blow-off, cool & clean items like pipe, cable, wire and hose with the Air Wipe Blow-Off System Ring-Blade from Nex Flow.
Air Wipe Blow-Off System - Ring-Blade Features:
- System is made of coated aluminum to provide even air flow 360º around the part.
- Designed as two pieces hinged together to open and close around the part.
- Instant on-off with no moving parts, no electricity or explosion hazard.
Air Wipe Blow-Off System - Ring-Blade Benifits:
- Even blow off around the part, light in weight and compact.
- Easy to install and maintain and allows removal of a continuous piece.
- Reduced compressed air use for energy savings plus lower noise levels.
- Maintenance free with output easily controlled, safe to use.
