SCHMIDT® Toggle Presses
No 11 to 19
Force range 2.5 to 22 kN
Highest force towards the end of the
stroke. These presses are suitable for all
applications where material is being
formed (e.g. riveting).
For high side loads these presses are
available with square ram.
ManualPresses are the economical solution for short run productions. The design of these presses is the direct result of our experience in multiple applications. They carry the hallmark of quality and precision. They provide:
Flexibility
- fast and easy set up
- quick and repeatable tool changeover
Ergonomic design
- hand lever position can be varied by 360°
- left and right hand versions available
Precision alignment
- smaller than 0.05 mm (precision ram and table bores)
Maintenance free

Manual Toggle Presses - 2.5kN - 50kN
The 360 degree adjustable handle lever allows the most favourable lever position for each respective procedure (not 2.5kN HKP/E)
The precise and non-floating adjustable V-guide guarantees accurate working, even with tools without guidance (not 2.5kN HKP/E)
The detachable spigot clamp allows frontal loading. By means of the spigot clamp a high holding force is achieved without damage to the fixing spigot
The head of the press is guided by an H7 manufactured flat guidance
The daylight can be quickly and easily adjusted by means of a fine pitch thread operated by a crank handle (not 2.5kN HKP/E)
Table with wide T-grooved clamping surface
Extended gap and height frames can be extended further if required (not for 2.5kN HKP/E and 2.5kN HKPV)
The range of application can be substantially expanded by means of customer-specific accessory equipment
For models 8/12 kN and 8/16 kN HKPV, the pressure force can be increased from 8kN to 12kN, or from 8kN to 16kN respectively, by simply changing the bearing bolt of the toggle lever. The height of stroke is thereby reduced to ca. 25mm
By comparison our toggle presses reach there listed nominal force at the bottom dead centre with a lever operating force of 400 to 100N (4 to 10 kg)

Extremely simple construction, high lever operating/pressing force ratio and highest safeguard while working.
Press fundamental feature is the easy and quickie interchange and adjusting of punches and dies.
It doesn’t work with any energy source, apart the manual force, thanks to the lateral lever that with a move of 90° can enable a high pressure.
Wide use in many production lines.

Milford Model 216 is a general purpose manual operated assembly press designed for experimental work, re-work, pilot runs, de-riveting or intermittent job shop work. Rivet capacity is 3/16" diameter up to 1" long.
This riveter is available with or without jaws, however, jaws are recommended as they assist in the accurate position the fastener prior to assembly.
Maximum rivet setting force is transmitted with minimum operator effort via the same toggle mechanism concept used in our automatic Milford impact riveting machines.
Through the use of our standard Milford rivet setting tooling, the same high quality results are achieved as with our high production automatic riveters.
Model 216 Specifications:
*Capacity: Up to .187" (4.78 mm) diameter x 1.0" (25.4 mm) long, mild steel semi-tubular rivets
*Throat depth: 6" (152.4 mm)
*Ram stroke: 1.25" (31.8 mm)
*Overall height: 14" (355.6 mm)
*Footprint: 4" x 8" (102 mm x 203.2 mm)
*Weight: 25 lb. approx.
Recommended Options:
*Spare tooling package (1 Jaw / 1 Driver / 3 Rollsets)
