Designed to handle the most demanding Wire-EDM programs while being easy-to-use, GibbsCAM Wire-EDM supports programming 2- thru 4-axis CNC Wire-EDM machines. With a very flexible and robust graphical user, novice users will find the system easy to understand and learn, while experienced users will find it a straightforward, efficient way to access its breadth of capability and options. GibbsCAM Wire-EDM provides the user with complete control over the Wire-EDM machining operations. Post processors for all major brands of Wire-EDM machines are included.
2-axis and 4-axis Support
Wire-EDM machining represents an expanding segment of manufacturing with continual improvements in technology and machine tools. GibbsCAM Wire-EDM provides full support for 2-axis parallel or tapered with or without lands and 4-axis tapered machining with automatic 4-axis synchronization. GibbsCAM Wire-EDM allows you to fully define the physical and operating characteristics of your Wire-EDM machine tool, wire and stock to use in programming your parts. Standardized settings can be stored and recalled ensuring consistency between jobs.

CAMWorks Wire EDM software has been designed and developed specifically for programming 2- through 4-axis Wire EDM CNC machines - unlike most CAM systems that use modified milling commands for their EDM programming modules. The result is CAMWorks, which is fully integrated into SolidWorks, provides a more intuitive, automatic, and efficient method of generating EDM toolpaths and machine code.
CAMWorks is a feature-based machining CAM system that provides the ability to automatically recognize Die (pocket) and Open Profile machinable features for Wire EDM. Interactive 2.5 and 4 Axis Feature wizards are used to define features that are not recognized automatically or features that need to be defined for your particular machining requirements. Die (pocket), Punch (boss), Open Profile and Punch Perimeter features can be defined interactively.
2 Axis Contour operations automatically generate rough, tab and skim cuts on 2.5 Axis features. Typically, this cycle would be used to cut a punch or die cavity. Optionally, CAMWorks can automatically generate toolpath passes that will cut both a die and punch at the same time. 4 Axis Contour operations automatically generate rough, tab and skim cuts on 4 Axis features.

PartMaker Wire EDM is an intuitive solution for programming your Wire EDM. The software supports 2-axis, 2-axis with taper and full 4-axis Wire EDM cutting. PartMaker Wire EDM uses Knowledge Based Machining technology to store information about various wires, materials and cutting strategies for passes involving both rough and skim cuts.
The software allows you to assign your machining strategies to part geometry by just pointing and clicking. Tapers can be adjusted with just the click of the mouse. PartMaker Wire EDM provides an accurate time study for your EDM parts and allows you to simulate cutting in dynamic 3D graphics on screen.
PartMaker Wire EDM supports most Wire EDM machines currently available including models from manufacturers such as Mitsubishi, Sodick, Charmilles and others.
