Toshiba Storage Device Division introduces the industry’s most advanced HDD to date: The world’s first 320GB 2.5-inch hard disk drive. (August 2007).
The MK3252GSX reinforces Toshiba’s technical and manufacturing expertise by offering 254 Gigabits of data per square inch. The industry’s highest capacity to date of 320GB in a 9.5mm form factor has been achieved through advances in the magnetic media used in the HDD platters and the components utilised to read and write data.
Weighing 102 g (max), Toshiba’s MK3252GSX 320GB hard disk drive breaks current capacity barriers, providing a compact and solid solution for notebooks and small form factor PCs, set-top boxes, external storage and much more digital applications.

Toshiba Storage Device Division introduces the 200GB 2.5-inch HDD, MK2035GSS. This drive is based on Perpendicular Magnetic Recording technology and has a capacity of 200 GB of data, the largest capacity of its class, using only 2 platters.
The MK2035GSS is currently the only 200 GB Hard Disk Drive available on the market with a height of only 9.5 mm. It weights only 98 grams and features lower power consumption compared to the traditional 3.5-inch HDDs.
This new drive features the Tunneling Magneto Resistive (TMR) head technology, rather than Giant Magneto Resistive (GMR) head technology.
It also incorporates the Serial ATA II interface and is ATA-7 compliant, supporting high transfer rates of up to 150 magabytes per second.
The MK2035GSS drive offers enough capacity and features for portable recording and editing, gaming, music and other multimedia applications.

Toshiba Storage Device Division introduces the world’s first 100GB 1.8-inch embedded HDD. The MK1011GAH reinforces Toshiba’s technical and manufacturing expertise in delivering high capacity mobile HDDs for consumer electronics applications.
The drive is based on perpendicular magnetic recording, utilise the new ATA-7 interface and delivers a data transfer rate of 100MB/s.
Furthermore, the Low Insertion Force (LIF) connector supports the drives smaller form factor without inhibiting the performance of the hard disk drive to its hosting device.
