Endevco® Model 7290A Microtron® accelerometer family utilizes unique variable capacitance microsensors. Accelerometers are designed for measurement of relatively low level acceleration in aerospace and automotive environments. Typical applications require measurement of whole body motion immediately after the accelerometer is subjected to a shock motion, and in the presence of severe vibrational inputs.
Gas damping and internal overrange stops enable the anisotropically-etched silicon microsensors to withstand high shock and acceleration loads.
Model 7290A can operate from 9.5 V to 18.0 V and provide a high level, low impedance output. The ±2 volt differential output is dc coupled at a dc bias of approximately 3.6 V. Frequency response is controlled by the near-critically damped sensors. The use of gas damping results in very small thermally-induced changes of frequency response.

MEMS-Based Inclination Sensor
ASM introduces a new, innovative tilt sensor series, PTAM2, with ranges from ±5° to ±180° for single axis and from ±5° to ±60° for dual axes in a robust, IP67/IP69K rated all-metal housing. This industrial grade inclinometer provides a high resolution, linear output signal that is proportional to the inclination angle. The PTAM2 series has been tested to withstand harsh conditions which makes it suitable for a wide range of applications such as factory automation machines and robotics, mobile cranes, draw bridges, adjustable platforms and off-highway construction equipment.
The PTAM2 series is the latest addition to the POSITILT® family and is available with four different absolute analog outputs: 0.5-10V, 4-20mA, voltage sine(x) and CANopen with a typical resolution of 0.05°. Limit switch outputs are also available. The output signal response time is available from 0.1 – 2.0 seconds, in 0.1 second increments. The measurement ranges are available from ±5° to ±180° in 5° increments. The compact 36 mm (1.4 inch) diameter housing with servo flange mounting allows for quick and easy installation.
Since the PTAM2 is based upon non-contact and therefore wear-free, MEMS position sensor technology, it offers significantly increased reliability in extreme environments, especially under high mechanical shock conditions.

The new NKN and NBN series of inclinometers contain either one or two sensor channels to detect angular movements within one or two axis to be chosen out of three degrees of freedom (x,y,z). Both channels have identical output interfaces for direct connection to the CANopen bus.
The two-channel version represents a redundant system with the nodes 1 and 2. In the first instance node 1 sends its data. By implementing the CANopen Safety protocol to CiA DS 304, Version 1.0.1 the device will conform to SIL2 (Safety Integrated Level) IEC 51508 which is required for application within many engineering equipment. The devices can also be supplied with analogue output signals, e.g. 0(4) to 20 mA or ± 10 VDC.
Two mechanical configurations of the inclinometer are available. Model NKN is a square shaped PCB measuring 55 by 55 mm. Model NBN is a transducer unit with a robust aluminum or stainless steel case and one or two connectors for serial connection with other CANopen devices. The measurement span of both items is
± 90° maximum. It can be programmed to unsymmetrical deflections, i.e. to +30°/-90°. Technical report: (PRA 11990 - Data sheets: NBX 11918, NKX 11874).
