GLS closed aperture, tunnel metal detectors are equipped with digital technology and used for inspecting bulk materials or individually packaged product on belt conveyors, material slides or vibratory conveyors.
GLS metal detection systems detect all ferrous and non-ferrous metals (steel, stainless steel, aluminium etc ), even those which may be contained in the product. If metal is detected a signal is sent to the process controller or the reject unit is activated.
The enclosed type of construction ensures that very high sensitivity is achieved throughout the entire tunnel area. For this reason the GLS range is highly suited to precise applications in the food industry.
The size of the detector is dependent upon application, conveyor belt width and product height.
|
|
VARICON metal detection systems detect all magnetic and non-magnetic metal contaminants (steel, stainless steel, aluminium etc ), even those which may be contained in the product.
The system comprises 4 main components:
• GLS tunnel metal detector
• special conveyor (width of belt from 500 mm)
• “stop-on-detect” control unit

Thermo Scientific Ramsey Oretronic III Tramp Metal Detector
Tramp metal can stop your operation and the damage it can cause to equipment can be expensive. That's why conscientious operators and owners consider tramp metal detectors to be an essential part of their operation. The Thermo Scientific Ramsey Oretronic III Tramp Metal Detector provides an economical and reliable means to protect expensive crushers, conveyors and other process equipment from damage by tramp metal.
Product Detail
Because there's nothing cheap about tramp metal.
The Thermo Scientific Ramsey Oretronic III is designed especially for belt conveyors moving coal, iron pellets, minerals, aggregates and other bulk materials. It can detect all types of metallic scrap including: bucket teeth, manganese steel mantles, bore crowns, bar scrap chains, tools, etc. It can even detect tramp metal when buried in wet conductive materials. And, because it is insensitive to materials with high magnetic permeability and electrical conductivity, this tramp metal detector can be used in applications where conventional metal detectors produce an unacceptable false alarm rate.
Features and Benefits
Microprocessor-Based - No adjustments inside the enclosure. All functions accessed by the front panel.
Variable Frequency - Allows you to set the operating frequency. Interference and false trips from motors, radios and other devices are eliminated.
Quick Balance - Allows you to electronically balance the coil with the push of a key.
Single Coil (optional) - A single coil assembly with both generator and receiver coils in a single, under-the-belt coil assembly eliminates damage from high burden depths and interference from overhead metal objects.
New Coil Frame - Coils are mounted on a fiberglass support structure and made of impact resistant PVC. The entire support structure and coils are impervious to moisture.
Offset Swing Arm - Provides coil protection and reduces likelihood of coil breakage from high burden.
Simple Installation - Can be installed without cutting the belt and without special tools or instruments.
Serial Communications - RS-485 is available as standard to communicate with a remote PLC or remote front panel.
Password Protection - Prevents unwanted access by entering your personal PIN.
Distance Indication (optional) - With a speed sensor, the front panel display will show the distance from the coil to the tramp metal in tenths of feet.
The Thermo Scientific Ramsey Oretronic III Tramp Metal Detector is designed for ease of operation and calibration. In addition to its easy-to-read displays, all of the detector's operations are accessible on the front panel.

GF PRIMUS metal separation systems remove magnetic and non-magnetic metal particles (steel, stainless steel, aluminium etc) from pneumatically conveyed bulk materials such as granulates and reground material. Metal contaminants (and inclusions) are removed by means of a reject flap (‘Quick Flap System’) without any interruption to the material flow, even at high flow rates.. Contaminated material is rejected into a container. The reject container is emptied automatically. The GF PRIMUS metal separation system is primarily used in industries where hygiene standards are less important. It is used for inspecting dry bulk materials.

The Textile Belt Analyser (TBA) uses high frequency radio waves to determine the integrity of fabric and solid woven belting and their splices. Discontinuity in belting can be such things as carcass rot, folds (created during manufacture), cuts and tears to the conveyor covers, as well as areas of delamination including at the splices. This minimises the possibility of an unpredictable belt breakage resulting in lost production byincreasing the reliability of the conveyor system.
The TBA Scanning system entails a trained technician to travel on-site and perform a full longitudinal TBA scan, condition inspection, cover profiles and life predictions of the conveyor belt.
After the inspection has been made a fully detailed report is generated and sent to the client. The report will include rEscan's recommendations in order of priority, detailed belt map, splice condition and a table of anomalies within the belt that are considered notable.
In the event that some of the anomalies need to be looked at closer, rEscan's portable X-Ray system can perform highly detailed digital images of these events.

CBS
The CBS is a mechanical switch which detects and prevents belt misalignment on conveyors. It reacts to the tilt caused by the misaligned belt. The CBS comes with 2 outputs - 15° and 30° - which trigger a first step alarm and a stop. The sensors are connected to a central monitoring unit, CB2V0A, which can control four sensors and triggers an alarm or stop signal and also provides a time delay.
The cylinders in contact with the belt are available in different options:
Mounted on a stainless steel bearing
-- stainless steel 304 or nylon cylinder
Mounted on shaft
-- nylon cylinder
The adjustable support is in stainless steel and allows a simple installation and adjustment of the sensors.
The advantage of this system lies in the fact that the force of contact between the cylinder and the belt is limited to the weight of the cylinder itself. This means that the cylinder is not damaged / cut by the belt even if they are in contact for a certain length of time.
The sensors are usually installed in pairs on each side of the machine.

Ramsey Conveyor Protection Switches
Protect your equipment, prevent accidents and reduce unscheduled shutdowns with Thermo Scientific Ramsey conveyor protection switches. Our switches are used for position information, for control signals, and to identify potentially hazardous situations with your process equipment. They utilize a rugged, heavy-duty design and are built to last.
Product Detail
The Ramsey Belt Misalignment Switch is used to monitor the position and tracking of conveyor belts. It is mounted on the conveyor structure and adjusted so the roller arm is the proper distance and angle from the outside edge of the belt. When a belt drifts out of alignment it contacts the roller actuator arm which rotates the actuation shaft, causing the belt misalignment switch to send an alarm signal.
The Ramsey Safety Cable Pull Switch is used as an emergency shutdown device for conveyors or other equipment. They meet OSHA and MSHA requirements for safety shutdown devices.
Safety pull cables are attached to the actuating arm of the switch. When force is applied to the pull cable it rotates the actuating arm and actuating shaft. At a 20° rotation the switch enters a tripped and locked position. The actuating shaft has two cams inside the housing. Each cam simultaneously actuates an independent SPDT micro-switch for shutdown and alarm signals.
The Ramsey Tripper Position Switch is a heavy duty limit switch. It is often used to indicate the position of a tripper on a conveyor with multiple discharge points. However, it can be used anywhere you need an extremely heavy duty limit switch with physical activation.

The Splice Monitoring System allows the remote measurement of splice elongation. The SMS monitors all types of splices in fabric conveyor belting by imbedding small targets into the belting at a set distance on either side of each vulcanised splice. No such targets are imbedded for mechanical clips.
The rEscan SMS system monitors these distances each time a splice passes its 'sense' transducer. This distance can be accurately measured and, should any splice fall outside set limits, rEscan can alert on-site personnel, who can then inspect the offending splice/s.
In addition, the system can be used to help identify if a clip has suffered severe damage and must be replaced.
|
|
rEscan's technology is the answer to the early detection of cord breaks, corrosion and splice failure.
The rEscan system works through magnetic flux leakage; steel cords are magnetized within the belting then measured for the amount of magnetic flux leakage seen in the belt. The key to this system is twin conditioning heads, which aligns all the magnetic domains thus giving a clean strong signal. The system is comprised of a set of two 'conditioning transducers (permanent magnets), one'sense transducer 'and one Tachometer.
As the belt passes by the transducer a signal is sent directly to a rEscan computer system then all data is reviewed on the belt in the Left, Center and Right orientation. Once the data has been analyzed, the rEscan Technician can accurately tell you where the damage is in your belt down to the closest millimeter in precision. "
