Prompted by demand from their global network of agents and distributors, Bowers Metrology has announced the launch of a major new addition to its best selling XT Xtreme Bore Gauging range. Complementing the company’s popular pistol-grip and internal-micrometer models, the robust new XT Lever range is perfect for vertical bore measurement, providing accurate and repeatable bore gauging under inspection department or shop-floor conditions.
Aiding ease of use, Bowers’ new XT Lever bore gauges have a simple ergonomic action and can be fitted with a wide variety of analogue and digital indicators or even transducer probes. For use within hostile measuring environments, such as in close proximity to Machine Tools, Bowers flexible new range can be provided with IP 65 rated digital indicators, rendering them resistant to coolant, water and airborne particles. A ‘wireless’ gauge module is also available, enabling cable free communication with remote data collectors, computers etc.
The cost-effective new range of XT Lever bore gauges boast hardwearing extended travel carbide measuring anvils and are able to measure diameters up to 300mm. Bowers is also able to manufacture affordable ‘one-off’ XT Lever instruments to cater for a wide range of other problematic, internal measuring applications, such as threads, grooves, splines, etc.

Tubular Inside Micrometer:
- Standard rod-type micrometer
- Measuring range: 50 to 1000 mm with various models
Borematic Holtest: Allows stable measurement of inside diameters with three contact points.
Holtest: Allows stable measurement of small-hole inside diameters with two or three contact points.

Internal measuring of bores is more demanding than external measurement of workpieces. Not
only the tight tolerances given for the measuring job must be respected, but also the measuring
components that have a direct influence on the uncertainty of measurement must be designed
in such a way that they can enter into the bore to be checked.
|
|
Can be used to measure through holes, blind holes and centering shoulders
Measuring spindle hardened throughout and ground
Self-centering measuring head consists of 3 laterally positioned anvils, each are offset at intervals placed of 120°

The CMS non-contact capacitive based hole and countersink measurement system has been established as the benchmark in measuring critical holes for military and commercial aircraft manufacturers around the world. Based on its ease of use, speed (measurement accomplished in a few seconds) and extreme accuracy ( /- 5 microns),
It has gained in popularity at various Airbus locations throughout Europe. The CMS system is particularly well adapted to the measurement of tapered holes based on its multi-sensor (48-sensor) approach to inside diameter mapping.
The addition of the CMS product line is a natural extension for Capacitec as they are currently the market leader in the supply of capacitive non-contact gap and displacement measurement sensor systems to the Aerospace market.
