World’s Most Accurate Large Volume Laser Tracker
The FARO Laser Tracker ION is an extremely accurate, portable coordinate measuring machine that enables you to build products, optimize processes, and deliver solutions by measuring more quickly, simply and precisely than previously possible. The ION is the most accurate laser tracker available based on the most common types of measurement applications where the angular error of the instrument is predominant. It also features a longer measurement range, lighter weight, and contains the fastest, most sophisticated distance measuring system: Agile Absolute Distance Meter (aADM).

Xtreme Measurement Range with the FARO Laser Tracker!
The FARO Laser Tracker X is a portable, contact measurement system that uses laser technology to accurately measure large parts and machinery across a wide range of industrial applications. It has a 70m (230-ft.) diameter range, achieves 0.025mm (0.001”) 3-D single-point accuracy, and is rugged enough for the shop-floor environment. The system measures 3-D coordinates with its laser by following a mirrored spherical probe. High-accuracy, angular encoders — along with XtremeADM — Absolute Distance Measurement, reports the 3-D position of the probe in real-time.
The FARO Laser Tracker Xi measures 3-D coordinates with its laser by following a mirrored spherical probe. The system can run in two modes: XtremeADM (Absolute Distance Measurement) and Interferometer; making it the most accurate and flexible Laser Tracker system.

LEICA ABSOLUTE TRACKER
We have built up a rock-solid reputation for designing and manufacturing absolutely reliable, robust laser trackers that find application in the most demanding environments, from factory shop floors to metrology labs. At first there was the SMART series, then the LTD500 generation, followed by the LTD700/800, and in 2005 we gave you the LTD640/706/709/840 family. In 2008, we are welcoming the Absolute Tracker.
At about 22 kg [48 lbs] and 62 cm [2 ft], the Leica Absolute Tracker enables easy one-person operation. A quick release mechanism securely locks the sensor onto the sturdy, heavy-duty tripod. You get the no-compromise stability that’s paramount for accurate measurements. Better still, the entire setup can be transported in the trunk of an average station wagon.
The Leica Absolute Tracker, just like its earlier Leica Geosystems brethren, relies on a technically sophisticated yet surprisingly maintenance-free internal design that allows it to run hour after hour, day after day, month after month without the need for any compensation whatsoever.
Depending on your measuremet needs, there are three Leica Absolute Tracker types available:
Leica Absolute Tracker AT901-Basic
Leica Absolute Tracker AT901-Mid Range
Leica Absolute Tracker AT901-Long Range

2D triangulation sensors (Laser Scanners)
RF620 Series
Application domain
The laser scanners are intended for non-contact measuring and checking of surface profile, dimensions, sorting and sensing of technological objects. The series includes 13 standard scanners (100 profiles/s for the full range) and 9 models of High Speed scanners (250 and 500 profiles/s for the full range)
Operating principle
Operation of the sensors is based on the principle of optical triangulation
Radiation of a semiconductor laser is formed by a lens in a line and projected to an object . Radiation scattered from the object is collected by the lens and directed to a two-dimensional CMOS-array. The image of object outline thus formed is analyzed by a signal processor, which calculates the distance to the object (Z-coordinate) for each point of the set along the laser line on the object (X-coordinate).

The Z500 laser measurement sensor solves the problem of how to measure a workpiece in-line for both width and height/depth at one time. Compared to single axis laser and vision systems, Z500 provides a unique advantage by measuring in X axis and Z axis simultaneously, improving accuracy and speed of the inspection.
Performs simultaneous width and depth/height measurements in one cycle
Eight measurement modes available, including a combination of step, width and edge position
No work piece or sensor movement required: improves measurement precision and reduces measurement cycle time
Z500 performs all data processing and calculations, eliminates need for other controllers
Two-dimensional SW-CCD and multiple incident level control allow shape measurement of curved work pieces and a wide variety of other surfaces

Since 1979, over four thousand LMI/Selcom ™ laser and vision sensors have provided the transportation industry with a reliable, safe and efficient way to collect critical information. In the case of road inspection, a number of laser sensors are typically mounted on a survey vehicle and driven over the road surface at highway speeds, so as not to disrupt traffic. Automated measurements of road conditions are a cost effective, reliable, accurate and safe method of collecting road conditions data as opposed to manual methods.
Our Transportation applications division works closely with System Integrators & Original Equipment Machine Suppliers to deliver the most effective solutions for their particular sensor vision needs.
